Congratulations !!!! Are you wearing clothes that are too big? If so, go out and buy some clothes that show off your new look. Show some confidence and smile. That's when people will notice.

Is it really worth it?????
pamela4438 replied to ams2436's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was banded on 7-2-08 and have lost 62 pounds. YES it was worth it. I love the fact that I can actually feel full without eating everything in the house. I have not felt deprived at all. Food has been my best friend almost my whole life. The decision to let this friend go was the hardest part of this journey. But, the rewards are well worth it. I was able to stop taking blood pressure medicine within the first month of the surgery. Try to stay away from sugar after the surgery. Make protein your priorty for eating. Protein will make you feel full and help you keep your strength up. Good Luck -
I had the same problem with the BM after surgery and my Doctor's office said to take Milk of Magnesia as well. I had never taken this product before. Please do not take more than a teaspoon at a time. I took half of the dosage listed on the bottle and had a horrible result. I hope your results are better.:tongue2:

Why do we follow a LF/SF diet after banding?
pamela4438 replied to Maribelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I truly believe that staying away from sugar in all forms helps to curb cravings. I love sweets, but know that once I indulge it is hard to stop. I was banded on 7/2/08 and have lost 35 pounds by following a low carb plan as much as possible. I also believe that fats in moderation help keep the skin looking better. Drinking lots of water helps as well. Good luck on your journey. -
I am 52 years old and have been fat all my life. I finally decided to do something drastic and was banded on July 2, 2008 by Dr.Coirin. The first two weeks were hard for me. I have lost 27 pounds to date and have about 40 to go to goal. I have an appointment on Wednesday and I guess they will do the first fill? I feel great now and have been able to get off the blood pressure medicine already. I had doubts immediately after the surgery but I am so happy now.
