  1. My eating habits for breakfast would be soy milk with either the Carnation Instant breakfast drink (the one with no sugar added) or I'll do soy milk with a Kashi cereal/oatmeal or yogurt with wheat germ. For lunch its tuna, chicken or a soup. I don't eat breads/rice or too much processed foods. They don't go down well. This morning I ran for 5k then drank a protein shake and I'm good til this afternoon. But I keep reminding myself to stay on track especially when I try on one of my outfits and it feels a lil snug.

  2. It almost 2 yrs (7/11/07) since I've been banded and I don't regret it. I value the healthier me and make sure I keep this body in tact by walking on my lunchbreak or running on the weekends. Good luck to all of you bandsters!!

  3. Sorry for the delay.. My lapband surgery was 7/11/07 265lbs was my highest and now I'm in between 160 - 165 lbs. I'm 5'9 so from a size 22 to a size 8...it feels good!

  4. I just read my message regarding support group meetings in the Hartford area. Dr. Tishler/Dr. Papasavas @ Hartford Hospital have support group meetings. Last nite there was one from 6-8p always the last Tuesday of every month. You can also join their website but you have to request to join. Please call (860) 246-2071 ask for either Nina or Melissa... I went late last nite around 7:30p and noticed they've divided the support group meeting into Pre-op, Lap Band and Gastric Bypass....it's pretty organized and always 50 or more in attendance. Let me know how it goes.

    ****Sensitive Topic****

It so funny you should discuss this subject...about two months ago I got paranoid because me and my partner got a lil raunchy in the bedroom. I swore that band slipped because I felt no restriction. I called my surgeon and his nurse told me when I can't hold food down then that would be an indicator. I'm ok and a girl just like getting worked out a lil sumthing behind closed doors.

    Your Scars

I have three keloid marks on my stomach from the surgery in 2007. I've decided to see a plastic surgeon next week to have this removed. I was seeing a dermatologist and having the keloids injected but after 3-4 visits that still hasn't reduced the scar.

True? Divorce after WLS within 3 years? Why?

Sorry, I weighed in at 171lb on Aug 22nd when I saw my physician. I wear size 9/10 in pants. Tops I wear a medium. In the beginning I used to weigh myself often now I go by if my clothes fit me or not.

True? Divorce after WLS within 3 years? Why?

Because of my height (5'9), I'd like to stay at 165-170lb - anything less than that would make me look awful. The good thing about it is: I have no extra skin around the abdomen, thighs or arms. Only thing I need to firm up is the chest. My doctor told me to start eating more fattening food. I'm done with the fills and we're just going to see by Nov if some fluid needs to be removed if I keep losing weight.

True? Divorce after WLS within 3 years? Why?

FINALLY!! A posting I can relate to..I was banded 7/11/07 and will be filing for a divorce this week. When I met my husband in 2003, I was a size 12; 5'9-exercised faithfully 3-4 weeks and ran the track. Through the course of the marriage I went up to a size 24-26 and hated myself because I've always been physically fit. This is our second marriage for both of us and I admit I married for all the wrong reasons, hence the weight gain. We tried marriage counselling and I even have individual counselling with a therapist who specialize in treating WLS patients. If I had the chance to do it all over again I would in a heartbeat due to the health issues/medications I was slowly accumulating. My DH is not happy about this but I can't afford to be in a marriage that is stressful on so many levels.

    Scars...keloids?

I too have keloid scarring from the band. I saw a dermatologist and had several steroid injection treatment-made the scar softer. I also used Bio-Oil (Wal-Mart), and a prescription strength of hydroquinone 4% to lighten my scars. Now I want to step it up because the scar is still visible and dark. Has anyone tried the Kelo Cote or Cicatricure? Presurgery weight 260lbs Banded 7/11/2007 Current weight 171lbs
