  1. I had mine on the 12th. Everything went well but the gas pains are killing me. How are y’all doing?
  2. Hi there! Don’t stress about the amount of food. You probably won’t be hungry anyway.
  3. Mine too!! Good luck!
  4. I have to stay overnight but I don’t have to do a pre op diet. Anyone else doesn’t have to be on a certain diet before surgery?
  5. I’m scheduled for October 12th and I’m really nervous!
  6. Thanks for explaining. My situation is extremely similar to yours and I’m just so nervous that the surgery won’t help.
  7. Thanks for sharing your journey. I am having the RNY with hernia repair in 2 weeks and I am nervous. It’s not something I want to have but due to extreme GERD my Dr thinks it’s necessary to prevent esophageal cancer. I’ve been happy with my sleeve, so don’t know what to expect from this new surgery. And I will be SUPER upset if I still have GERD post surgery!
  8. Absolutely, menopause is a metabolism KILLER! Sorry but it’s been terrible for me as well. I did lots of food sensitivity tests and found that when I avoided the foods that I react to, I felt better and lost some weight. Milk is the biggest problem for me which includes whey, casein, and other dairy by products. Sugar is also a problem for me. I guess what I’m saying is don’t give up! Find out what slows your metabolism and cut it out of your diet. Good luck!
  9. Keep going to therapy! You can only change you. You are NOT responsible for his actions and insecurities. Ask your therapist for some responses for when he makes insecure/ugly/manipulative comments to you. Keep telling yourself that his insecurities are NOT your problem. God bless and good luck!
  10. Thanks so much for sharing your experience!
  11. I had the sleeve 9 years ago and now have to have the bypass due to GERD, hiatal hernia, esophogitis, and Cameron lesions. I have weight that I gained and need to lose and now I’m worried about not feeling full after the bypass.
  12. Well I’m definitely no expert on this but I’ve always had IBS among other stomach issues. I did a lot of food tracking and sensitivity tests to see what foods were my triggers. I found out that milk and whey are my biggest triggers so if I completely take those out of my diet it really helps. I had the sleeve in 2011 and lost 80 pounds but have only kept 25 pounds off. I NEVER planned on going to go through with another weight loss surgery unless I became totally miserable with myself or something. I workout daily and try to eat right but don’t eat like I should. I’m scared to death to have the revision and I’m TRULY NOT doing it for weight loss although I do hope that I lose weight. I believe that people should do EVERYTHING possible to lose the weight and change their lifestyle before going through any major surgery because in truth the surgery is just a tool. You have to have the right mindset to change your lifestyle. I have gone and still go to organized meetings to help me with my food addiction. I hope this helps....you can PM me if you’d like.
  13. How are you doing so far after the revision? Any reflux or heartburn? I just got all of my tests results back and definitely need to have the revision due to severe GERD, hiatal hernia, and really bad esophagitis. I am very nervous because I feel like nothing will ever get rid of my heartburn. I guess I’ve had the hiatal hernia and heartburn for so long that I don’t know what it’s like not to suffer from it.
  14. Thanks so much. I will.
  15. Thanks so much for sharing and following up after a year. Your posts have really helped to calm my nervous feelings about my upcoming surgery. I had the sleeve in 2011 and now have multiple problems that can only be resolved by having the bypass.
  16. Thanks so much for responding! I hope recovery is quick for you. Please keep me updated on your progress. I see my dr again on Tuesday so will decide what I want to do. I’m just scared.
  17. I’m seeing a different doctor since my original dr that did my sleeve saw that I had ulcers, GERD, and a hiatal hernia and still recommended the sleeve.
  18. I’m going through this now and I’m a nervous wreck. I had the sleeve done in 2011 and thought it would help my GERD and hernia. Well my hiatal hernia is much worse and so is the GERD. I thought I could just have hernia surgery but that’s not possible after having had the sleeve. My doctor said the only way to fix both is to do a bypass.
