    Anyone for August 2020

I’m 7 days post op and still haven’t had a BM either. I see the doctor next week and will see what he suggest if I haven’t had a BM by that time. I’m hoping the switch to full liquids will help move things along.

    Anyone for August 2020

Where the beast was removed. Love it!! I’m still tender as well and it’s raining today so I’m in pain. I’ve been doing better with my water intake as well. That was my main issue that I wouldn’t get enough fluids and have to go to the ER. Today, I’m able to move to the next stage of full liquids and will report back on how I do. I’ve never been happy to have sugar free pudding and lentil soup. 😂😂

    August surgery

Glad your surgery went well. I broke down crying my second day in the hospital due to a bad reaction to the anesthesia. I was puking and dry heaving and all I wanted was ginger ale to settle my stomach but I wasn’t allowed. Things did get better and just remember to take it one day at a time.

Are you allowed liquids? I find herbal tea and walking helped me pass gas.

    Hospital stay

I think it’s because they honestly don’t know how you will respond after the surgery. I was told 1-2 days and I was there for almost 3 days due to a bad reaction to the anesthesia. My hospital has a separate section for coronavirus patients, I had my own room and Bariatric nurses as well. So I think they aren’t telling you a timeline because it all depends on how you feel afterwards. Hope this helps.

    Hospital stay

2 1/2 days due to complications. They wanted to keep me a 3rd night but since I was able to tolerate liquids and fart they let me go home.

    Mental Health and Surgery

I suffer from anxiety and I had been talking to my therapist before I had the surgery to prep. I know having this surgery won’t solve all my issues but it will help improve the quality of my life. My mental health as of now has been stable. I have a tool kit to help me. I do my best to give myself a daily goal. Even if it’s just making the bed. This way I don’t back slide. I’m 6 days post op so my goal is to walk as much as I can within reason and that seems to be helping. In the psych evaluation for the surgery I was open about my anxiety issues and that wasn’t used against me. Turns old my old therapist used to work there. Small world!

    Cramping feeling after swallowing

Are you sipping or gulping? I made the mistake of gulping my drink and I had a bad stomach pain that lasted a few seconds. My stomach is bloated as well and I have yet to have a bowl movement either. 😩 I’m going to give it a few days and if nothing happens I will contact my surgeons office and see what they suggest. I was sleeved on 8/19 as well.

    Gas pain

Congrats! Are you allowed liquids yet? I found that herbal tea helps with my gas pain.

    Anyone for August 2020

I’m 6 days post op and things are getting there slowly but surely. My abdomen is tender but I did throw up and dry heave a lot in the hospital. I’m struggling to get my protein in because the clear liquids are too sweet. The powder is too thick and I felt like I was going to puke it back up. Going to call my nutritionist and she what she suggest. I walk as much as I can when I’m not in pain. Not really a fan of the pain pills but I take them at night so I can get some rest.

    Getting a little nervous

I didn’t have a drain tube but I did have surgery last week. It’s normally to be nervous but it will be worth it in the end. You got this.

Surgery is in 3 days getting nervous

Keeping you in my thoughts. My surgery was last week. I was nervous as well. One min I was being sent to the back and the next minute I was in recovery. Just do the best you can as no day is the same. Walking is a big help. I do my best to get up and walk several times a day. You got this!

    So disappointed in people

I really feel like your co workers crossed the line by going to your Director. What medical degree do they have? Anyway you are not alone and we are here to support you along the way.

    Day 3 Post-op...still a lot of pain

Thank you. It was a terrible experience. I never reacted to anesthesia like that before and I hope I never do again. Could it be the yogurt and pudding is too much for you right now? I’m on clear liquids only at the moment. Herbal tea has been a life saver for me during this time. Broth has been good for me as well. I’m having a hard time tolerating the protein clear drinks unless I dilute it with water. I hope you start to feel better soon. This recovery is no joke.

Help! Ate too much! Pain in the middle.

Nothing to be ashamed about and I’m 5 days post op and your post has helped me especially when I move to the tuna stage. Thank you for sharing and I hope you get to go home soon.

    Day 3 Post-op...still a lot of pain

I had my surgery as well and in the same boat. The main incision feels horrible but I did throw up a lot in the hospital so I wonder if that’s why. I’ve been using a heating pad and that’s been helping. As much as I don’t like the pain pills I’ve been taking them as needed and they are helping.

I know that feeling that was my main worry about dying on the operating table but it went well. I will keep you in my prayers.

    Anyone for August 2020

Hey Everyone, I had my surgery yesterday and had a bad reaction to the anesthesia which has never happened to me before. I was in bad shape all night and early this morning. My surgeon approved a new medication and I’m doing much better. They put a pain blockage on the incisions so I don’t feel any pain on the sides. Only when I throwing up. I was scheduled to go home today but I’ll will be spending one more night here and then I’m free. The surgeon said it went well.
