  1. Yup. I have a daily pill container that I use and just take it throughout the day. Takes me a few mins to take them no issues with swallowing thank God.

    Is pasta really taboo?

I had my surgery the same day as you and I’m currently in the soft foods stage. The paperwork says to hold off on breads, rice, pasta and grains. Then once I reach the General diet stage I can eventually add whole wheat pasta once in a while. I do hope you find a resolution to your eating issues soon.

    Anyone for August 2020

Glad to hear things are going well! You gave me some new food options to try, I'm starting to get tired of chicken and tuna so excited to try crab meat. I'm not sure if I can have chips now but I put them on the list for new month.

    Day 3 Post-op...still a lot of pain

Keep us posted and hoping it’s a minor issue.

I wasn’t happy about purée either but the first time that puréed tuna hit my tongue I was in heaven. 😂😂 I’m sure Ciara will appreciate it as well.

    Anyone for August 2020

I was sleeved on 8/19. The first week post op I was tired and dizzy as well. Once I was moved to full liquids which allowed me to have certain soups I felt so much better and my energy level improved. How much longer until you can advance?

    Anyone for August 2020

Moved on to soft foods. I had chicken last night and I was scared at first but I took everyone’s advice and chewed very, very slowly. Who knew a meal could last thing long. So far I can tolerate chicken, tuna and ground beef. I tried salmon which I love and prefer over tuna but peachy (my pouch name) doesn’t like it at all. How is everyone doing?
  9. My program is different, I had to do clear liquids for one week. Full liquids for another week before I could move on to purée foods. All I can say it take it slow. If you try purée foods and don’t feel ready you can always go back to liquids and call your doctor and let them know. My surgeon said if something doesn’t agree with you there’s nothing wrong with taking a step back.

    Eating

Thank you for the tip. I made the mistake of sipping water and it only made it worse. 😩

    Puree Stage of Food

You wouldn’t believe how happy I was to eat Tuna and I’m not a fan of it but it’s something other than liquids. 😂😂

Sadly, I'm in that boat I spoke to my doctor and he told me there is a stitch inside and once that pops the pain will go away. Hoping it pops soon. 😩 How are you doing?

I'm in the puree food stage so I can't drink water 30 mins before and after meals and I felt I wasn't getting enough fluids so now I have a timer set to remind myself to drink water and its been helping.
  14. A friend of mine highly recommends Bariatric Advantage. She had bypass surgery a few months back. I do think it’s weird that she’s insisting you order Unjury. I went over my paperwork and it mentions whey protein isolate powders and shakes and listed some brands but in the end I can choose what ever I want as long as it has at least 25 grams of protein. So I’m basically taking the long way to say don’t let them push you around and oh by the way we are surgery twins!

    Anyone for August 2020

I’m finally on the purée food stage. I have been able to eat tuna with no issues but salmon doesn’t agree with my stomach at all. How are all my August peeps doing?

Surgery TOMORROW! SO nervous! Hospital must haves

I brought a bunch of stuff with me and didn’t even need it all. I only needed my chapstick, rescue inhaler, phone charger and fresh undies. They provided me with toiletries during my stay. I also had a hoodie for when I walked the halls.

    how many nights for sleeve

Two and a half days. I had my own room due to coronavirus.

5 days post op feeling tired

Yup. I was tired a lot my first week post op. I’m entering my second week and have more energy due to the fact that I’m able to take in more liquids and protein but I still need a nap in the afternoon but it’s not as bad as it used to be the first week.

    Regular meds

For myself all meds have to fit through a straw. If not they have to be crushed or cut in half.

Possibly. Your body is like what’s going on?! 😂😂 No offense taking. I’m just happy I finally had one and lived to tell the tale. 😂😂😂😂

How is your blood pressure? I know I used to get really bad headaches that wouldn’t go away. Once day at work I felt like my head was going to explode. I went to the hospital and my pressure was very high.

    Anyone for August 2020

I finally pooped yesterday. I switched to full liquids and the Lentil soup I was eating did the trick. I must say it was one for the books. I definitely said a prayer. 😂😂 Sorry if this is too much for some.
  23. RichelleGetsFit0309

    I’m screwed ! :(

I don’t think they will cancel the surgery and you have plenty of time to drop the weight before your surgery date. During the liquid diet phase I lost 13 pounds. You got this!

    Hospital Stay

The whole time I was told I would have to be alone and then the day before my surgery, they told me I could have one person only come with me. By the time they told me it was too late to have anyone come with me and looking back I appreciated the alone time to reflect on my thoughts and say goodbye to my old life. The visiting hours were restricted as well but at least it was something. So who knows if things may change.
