My story .... back in 2013 I found myself so overweight that I couldn't sleep well, my clothes were ill fitting, and I was just overall hating myself. I got pretty depressed and quit going out of the house and my life consisted of work and home. I was embarrassed of myself all the time. I decided to research WLS and inquired online about medical tourism. I ended up filling out a questionnaire and let them convince me to get a gastric sleeve instead of what I wanted which was the mini bypass.
I went to Mexico and it was not a bad experience but it wasn't all rainbows either. The place I went had the title of "hospital" but they were definitely NOT! They did not speak English well and it was just a lot of stuff that could have been better. The surgery went very well and I had no problems at all. I lost 80lbs and managed to keep it off for 3 years. But then a lot of things happened in my life and the weight slowly crept back on. I know a lot of it is my own fault, and I can own that.
So I have made myself sick over pondering an additional surgery. A revision to what I wanted initially. I am having the Mini Bypass in 2 days on August 6, 2020. I am excited and nervous. BUT this time I am more informed on the years after a surgery and know that I have to do my part more than anything. Life is a lot better / different now and I'm older and wiser! HA!
