Having problems with new clothes
terilynn112 replied to debbieperez55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OMG you're so right. We have several consignment and donation type stores here. Like we have a hospice and pallitive care second hand shop. They sell clothes and all sorts of other stuff donated to them. We have one that is strictly a consignment shop. We have two other second hand shops that are church run. I'll be checking them out too. It's funny, over the last two years I've done ZERO photos of myself. Then all of a sudden (literally) I decided to do this, and took before, and have taken them monthly since (on the first of each month). I haven't taken December's yet. My camera batteries need charging. I'll be taking them over the weekend at the very latest. Not that I see any difference in how things fit this month. Teri -
Tummy growling... A LOT
terilynn112 replied to shanna_j's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I talked to my surgeon about this today. I still get it often. And loudly! He actually heard it sitting next to me. He said it's actually the band talking to me. How nuts does that sound? But I then called a friend of mine who also has a band, she said her's still talks to her. It's not that I'm hungry when it goes. That's something that people decided. It gave us the ok to overeat. I'm still here. I was to have my 3rd fill today, but the dr and I opted not to do it. It was a joint decision. I tighted right up last friday and could barely drink water. Why? Matthew (one of the twins) had a grand mal tonic clonic seizure for 90 minutes. Then was life flighted to the nearest university hospital (1 1/2 hours away). As he stabilized, I could eat a little more. I'm still slightly tighter than I was pre seizure. So we decided we'd leave it here. Thanksgiving itself turned out good for me. I had enough self control that I ate just about what I should. I think I had a little extra. That night matthew had his seizure. That ended my holiday. I'm nearly done shopping for Christmas. I will finish that up friday. How are ya'll doing? teri

I think some just go to the next page from their last update. I've nearly done it myself, but didn't. teri -
Having problems with new clothes
terilynn112 replied to debbieperez55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Don't you hate those low rise pants? OMG anyone that's been obese or had kids, they just don't fit right. I'll bite the bullet and go to the local consignment shop Saturday looking for something decent to wear for the holidays. I always dress up for Christmas, but I've NOTHING nice to wear. teri -
I'm so mad about who went home. She worked her butt off, and Ed didn't. Stupid people. But when the two fell below the yellow line, it was totally predictable. teri

Having problems with new clothes
terilynn112 replied to debbieperez55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Stupidly, I gave away most of my "skinny" clothes about 6 months before I made the decision to have wls. Teri -
He came home late late friday. I don't much leave him, like even to sleep, so I'm not sleeping. I'm barely eating. I look terrible. SO much so I won't be taking my December photos until I can do something about that. My mom offered to watch the boys so I could nap today, but we have dr's appts most of the day. Yuck! Maybe thursday or friday. I did sleep better last night. But I'm up at least 10 times checking on him. Plus there was a terrible noise, right after we'd gone to bed last night. A plow truck lost his back tires and crashed just outside my house. Got me up and heart racing. So it was difficult to go back to sleep. But we're better here. Muddling our way thru it all. Just our normal. How are you doing? Oh yea it was PMS cuz it went away a few days later.

Having problems with new clothes
terilynn112 replied to debbieperez55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mine's pretty bare too. I do have to get shopping, but right now money is tight, with holidays. I'm living off the stuff from the clothing exchange. I am buying things slowly. I got three tank tops, and they are already fitting. I wear them year round. teri -
Weight/Height/Goal/Reason
terilynn112 replied to Sarah.R's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started out at 270. I lost 24 pounds before meeting with my surgeon, and had to loose another 12 pounds, I lost 13 in 8 weeks. WHoo hoo. I had my surgery lost 14 pounds, and stalled. Just now getting the scale moving. Anyway, I'm 5' 4" tall. I'm rather big boned so people don't believe I weighed as much as I did. I carry it well. My goals going in have already been met... I can sit in carnival rides. I can do things again, because I have energy, and I am not only off my diabetes meds, but I'm no longer a full blown diabetic (who previously needed shots to control it). I'm glucose intolerant. Teri -

add me in this group. And the undies thing... ya'll will laugh, but I haven't bought new ones since having the twins. So i walk around pulling up my undies. I guess it's time for me to get new ones. I did break down and bought a pair of pants that tie in the waist. They look like a sack on me, as they're much bigger than I am. :wink2: God that felt good to say. teri -
K- I'm glad you had a great trip. Happy belated anniversary. I think that's awesome. You lost weight on vacation. How many people can say that? Teri

Any September Banders?
terilynn112 replied to Keleka's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
#1 Do for 10 days to break plateau #2 Drink 2 quarts of Water a day #3 You must have 45 grams of Protein supplement and all your Vitamin & mineral supplements each day. #4 You may consume up to 3 oz. of the following high-protein foods, 5 times a day: * beef, * pork, * chicken, * turkey, * lamb, * fish, * eggs, * low-fat cheese, * cottage cheese, * plain yogurt (or artificially sweetened), * Peanut Butter, * beans/legumes. #5 You may also have: * sugar-free popsicles (avoid juice popsicles), * tea or coffee, * sugar-free sodas, * sugar-free Jello, * broths & bouillons, * Crystal Lite drinks. #6 IF IT IS NOT ON THE LIST YOU MAY NOT HAVE IT! #7 Keep a food diary and try to get 30 minutes of exercise daily. Ideally you have someone you're doing it with, for encouragement, and for basically the reporting in part to help us. I'm doing it the 1st to the 10th. The 3rd/4th will be an interesting day, as I'll be on liquids/mushies with another fill. teri -
Resuming pain medicine
terilynn112 replied to kutach's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too live in pain daily. They told me as long as I was 3 weeks post op, I could resume taking pills. I don't believe you're past that yet. So you may want to call either your pain dr, or your surgeon, but I really suggest you touch base with someone. Teri -
Think of it this way... 18 pounds in 2 months... wow that's incredible. Did you take measurements pre op? Because I'm betting they're changing fast. How much do you have in your band now? I only have 2.2 cc's and have very little restriction, I thankfully go wednesday for another fill. Hopefully this gives me more. We were banded approximately 2 weeks apart, and I've lost 16 pounds. It took me longer than usual to get my first fill, because of infection. Then I had some issues with my port. But I'm on the loosing side now. teri

Any September Banders?
terilynn112 replied to Keleka's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm similar to ya'll. But I loose and gain the same pound. HOW???? Anyway I nearly ate nothing (like when we were on liquids). Anyway I dropped again. On another lapband board I belong we're all doing a bump it up thing. I can post details here. We're doing it december 1-10. I hope it bumps it up for me. I'm having days I'm discouraged as can be, other days it's like whatever! I don't want to resort to an antidepressant again, as they make me eat more. I don't need that. teri -
Do you feel more restrictions some days more than others?
terilynn112 replied to debbieperez55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The actual day I didn't do bad, I thought, but somehow the scale moved up a pound, but I've burned it off now. I'm back down steady at the 224 range. Anyway, the night of thanksgiving (going into black friday) Matthew had a HUGE seizure, so I stressed and apparently my band doesn't like stress. I felt like I did immediately post op. It wasn't until he was downgraded from critical to stable, and they were talking about sending him home, that I was able to eat more than ice cream (which I kept to a minimum), and Water. teri -
I did good eating. It was after midnight, when my son started seizing that I had SERIOUS issues. Most of the day yesterday I managed sips of Water, then some ice cream later in the day. I had to do something. I'm still not back to normal, and I get a fill wednesday. I hope everything is back to normal then. My son is nearly 3 yr olds (one of my twins). He'd had seizures in the NICU when he was recovering from some surgery. Anyway, they went away. So they took him off the seizure meds 8 months ago. His system was seriously overwhelmed with colds/virus's/immunizations. So it triggered a 90 minute seizure. He ended up being life-flighted to a larger hospital (the one with the NICU he was in), and me making a FAST trip to get to be with him. His twin and my older son went with grammy. My band tightened up so bad it hurt at times. But we made it thru the storm. We're stronger for the events of the day, and I'm thankful to be back home. Teri

Port Replacement after 2nd Fill
terilynn112 replied to Ravenesqued's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had a port flip, but thankfully it's back where it should be. They blamed it on a muscle spasm. I don't think so. I'm sorry you're having so many issues. teri -
Happy Thanksgiving. Let's remember to count our blessings not our servings :grouphug: I mean that in a good way. We have all been blessed, and I fully intend to enjoy the day, with my family, even the ungrateful one. I am thankful for my kids. They are healthy, happy and well adjusted. I am happy for my band, not well adjusted but we're happy. I'm thankful for my home, drafty as it may be, but it's mine (paid for) and is warm. I'm thankful for my improving health. Teri

What are You Thankful for? Happy Thanksgiving!
terilynn112 replied to TQUAD64's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am thankful for my children. They are healthy, happy and well adjusted. I'm thankful for my band, not quite as well adjusted, but getting there. I'm thankful for my home, drafty as it is, it's mine, and it's home. I'm thankful for my family. Even the ones that aren't as encouraging. teri -
Do you feel more restrictions some days more than others?
terilynn112 replied to debbieperez55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm kindda looking forward to my next fill, as I'm having less and less restriction. I still get in "Trouble" if I try to eat to fast. Or don't chew well enough. But it's hard to limit what I eat, and how often I eat. Thanksgiving is gonna be hard. And I'm going to have 25 sets of eyes on how much I eat. Teri -
Was for me too yesterday. Today will be better. I did some emotional eating yesterday, and the scale shows it. OUCH! Up 4 pounds (can't be from what I ate, as I'd have to have eaten all day, junk food), so I'm thinking PMS has hit my plate. Ah well that's just a few days of higher scale weights. And that's ok. It's not that bad. I remember being at my largest and gaining 10 to 15 pounds each month during pms time. I'll take 4 pounds. Just is hard to cope with. teri
