My surgeon's office says steps like that are fine. He even says two days post op, we can go up a flight of stairs. I'm glad I don't have to though. I don't like stairs... or I should say my back doesn't. No liquid diet here. I'm next tuesday the 16th. OMG 1 week. Teri

I've done all I have to pre op... I'm the 16th... in upstate ny (cooperstown) and have 3 boys 11 1/2 and twin 2 1/2 yr olds. teri

My surgeon said 20 ish. My 2 and a half year old is 24 pounds. He has ok'ed me to lift him only when necessary. He has cerebral palsy, so he doesn't walk. May never walk independently. But I'm being banded next week. teri

My friend, and son's dr had GB surgery with that office. They loved him. For a dr to pick another dr is a high recommendation. Teri

Who will you follow up with now, Heneghan or Strauss? I love Heneghan. He's my surgeon. I have to tell you the reason I am going lapband is the whole accountability issue. My sister had rny, and went from 330 pounds to 89. Then gained almost all of it back. She took longer than a lot I see. I'm just not willing to do this for 5 yrs of weight loss. I want it to be permanent. Have you met Julie in Cooperstown? or considered going to the post op groups? They are the third thursday's of the month. The dates' and times and locations are on the website. I want it to "look" more natural, like I'm loosing on my own. teri

That's my only fear... having had no pre op diet, I'm worried I won't be able to stick to the liquids, and then mushies. Debbie, I'll say a prayer it doesn't slow down your surgery. When will you know something? teri

Hi Ema, I'm also preop. But have you spoken to the clinic? Where'd you go for surgery? I'm going to bassett. Who did it there? I'm seeing Dr. Heneghan, and of course Bob. Have you been to your group's support group? I know bassett has one that is in Norwich. I don't go that far for support group. I go to the one in Cooperstown. teri

I found out last night< I'm down another 2 pounds, and met another teri with the lapband. She's got "irish twins" (where they are less than a year apart). It was kindda funny. the dr (bob) encouraged me to share last night. It was strange to me , to have so many people applaud my weight loss, and encouraging me. Next month again I'll be called on, as I will be one of the newly banded people. Teri

I'm told I'll be a september band surgery. I'm so excited. I had hoped for an august surgery, but that couldn't happen. (hadn't finished my appts in time). So now that I have officially gotten my appts done, I'm a september. I'm a single mom of three great boys. Brandon is my oldest at nearly 12, and the twins, Michael and Matthew are 30 months (or 2 and a half). Brandon and Michael are hemophiliacs (not me), and Matthew has cerebral palsy. I live in NY. I'm just so excited to be on a road to a healthier me. I've already shrunk from a size 22 to a 20. And they're getting baggy. See my clinic requires a 5% weight loss. I did that and more My goals in this are to get healthy, to have more energy, to fit in carnival rides to enjoy them with my boys, and to wear a size 12. I don't remember when I last was a size 12. Care to share some of those recipes? I've got the makings for homemade mac and cheese, and to freeze it I put some broken up lays potato chips. It works up nicely to reheat it. I've done spaghetti sauces. I've taught my oldest son how to tell if the noodles are done. I'll have to help with the hot stuff, but he can "sample" to feel the texture now. Thought about making chicken and dumplings, minus the dumplings, but not sure how that freezes up. May just get a bunch of the crockpot frozen stuff. My family loves them. teri

After going to support group last night, and being lovingly reminded that my surgery is in 2 weeks (not even now) I am totally nervous. teri

It's always amazing to meet another twin mommy, but to meet one with my name, and one of my twins names is soo cool! I don't have much time tonight, Just got home from the weight loss group. Teri

Been thinking of that too. I have 3 little ones, and no other adult in the house. So I have to be the cook. Sampling what I cook is probably not a great idea post op. teri

I don't have to do a pre op Protein diet. Not sure I'm willing to. They sound nasty, and smell worse. :tt2: teri

They're talking about taking my diabetes meds off me completely just loosing the 27 pounds I've lost. I'm consistantly running low. Teri

I'm a stay at home mom. I'm being banded on tuesday, and will be back to being a mom tuesday evening. Course I'll have a teenager here to help with the boys :thumbup: teri

Metformin comes in a liquid form. It's nasty though. And yes you can mix them with watered down applesauce (at least my dr's allow it). teri
