My sister had RNY more than 10 yrs ago, and has gained a LARGE amount of her weight back. She's now watching me for the possibility of a band. teri

are you a caffine drinker? Maybe you're body is missing the caffine. If it's that you just have to wait it out. teri

I can definitely feel my port. And the weirdest thing happened yesterday. I can eat (suck on?) cold popsicles, and cold puddings, but cold Water NO WAY! I actually end up sore. Anyway I drank a cold water, because stupid me forgot my water going to the urgent care with my kids. I ended up with air in my stomach. I could feel it slide thru the band. That was so freaky. I lost 3 pounds between waking yesterday and today. WOW! Still no bm, although I'm trying. I bought some prune juice last night, while out, and have apple juice here. I know warmed prune juice works for me. I've had to do it before. Don't know why I didn't think of it before. I feel so much more human already. Just the one incision hurts. And ironically it's not my port incision. It's the one the boys always bump climbing up to kiss me, or hug me better. So I think that has something to do with it. I took photos the day I came home of my tummy, and was able to feel my port when I did that. They are on my myspace account. I have to say the farina, I'm to eat is REAL watery. Not thick stuff. If it doesn't run off the back of a spoon i'm not to put it in my mouth. I wish I could have a bm. I'd feel better. Any ideas? I've done milk of mag, and benefiber. Nothing yet. I'm really uncomfortable. teri

I have the "smaller band" that my surgeon uses (he uses the 7 and 10 cc bands). So I assume the 10, but won't know until the first. I have no Fluid in it. This surgeon's policy is to put none in it yet. I can't imagine having fluid in it, as I'm seriously not hungry, and can feel air going thru the band. Teri

I can feel mine, but have to press on it. Seriously, and I'd never admit to my dr's this. I haven't taken my antidepressant since surgery and I feel great. Not a tad bit depressed. I did have about 5 minutes this morning, trying to sit up in bed, thinking what the hell did I do? But it passed rather fast. Especially when I took my blood sugar (fasting), and it was lower than it was on medications (not on meds). My normal fasting sugar on byetta twice a day, was 119 to 130. Today it was 99. How sweet is that? Teri

I'm on antidepressants also. Have been for about a year. Having a horrible time getting it in. It leaves a NASTY NASTY taste in my mouth. ah well. I'm glad things went well. My son with cerebral palsy is 24 pounds. They said I could do it, but to be extremely careful. He doesn't walk yet either, and is getting hungry, so I have to feed him. My son is totally a mommas boy. He will eat for no one else if I'm around teri

Like Neicey, I had my band placed yesterday. I came home last night. I'm sore, mostly where my gallbladder was. (Had it out years ago). Not where my port is. That's about 3 inches to the left (from my prospective). I am pretty sure it's because it's indented there. I feel pretty good other than that site. Have to check in with my dr's pa (bob) at 4 pm today. Fun stuff. I was banded in Cooperstown NY with Steven Heneghan MD. It was a wonderful experience. The dr's and nurses were great. My pre op nurse Tom had GB about 6 months ago, and has lost 100 pounds. I said I wasn't look to loose that quickly, but congratulated him. We started out about 80 pounds difference (he was heavier). He had nearly every co-morbity possible. I just had back pain (have several herniated discs) and diabetes. He's almost down to my pre op weight. I've already lost 30 pounds, he lost 11 preop. What else... oh make sure you have something liquid to take to get those bowels working again. With the pain meds, we're likely to get constipated. Teri
