New to this group, but I've read all your notes. I'm so with you. Hate Heba. Love Colleen. She's breaking her butt to drop the weight. I'm proud of her. A lot of my weight loss surgery friends have added what have you done to be proud to their daily lives. I just ordered the 30days video Jillian has out, and I ordered the new wii game Jillian Michael's fitness Ultimatium 2008. The video is the 30day shred with jillian Michaels. I got them both from amazon. I love working with the wii fit, and they compared the wii game to the wii fit. So I think I'll enjoy that. The exercise video, well not that I'll enjoy it, but I'll use it. Nice to meet ya'll. teri

I watch it faithfully, watching the types of exercises that work. I've also liked watching fat people turn into skinny. I actually tried out for the show. teri

I could have up to 8 ounces, but nothing I couldn't get down in that 30 minute time frame. I usually managed it all. teri

I get 701 dollars a month, and have 3 kids. So I do understand, and am a single mom. No support from bios. They pay for my fills (so I'm told. I haven't had one yet). I asked my surgeon's office, and I asked the medicare rep I talked to, and they said they cover all related care. So that means fills. teri
-
They pay for fills. They also don't give much issue with comorbities if you're over 40 BMI. I was/am. I had mine a month ago. They don't require a pre-approval, although your secondary insurance may. As soon as I met my center of excellence requirements, they scheduled my surgery. Almost a month later, but that's ok. Gave me time to get things in order. I've gotten not one bill, and I've been there a couple times, for a minor skin infection. Medicare is actually one of the easiest to deal with insurance companies I hear. teri ( on medicare because of a disability)

You may wanna call your md, or the office about that. They'll give you suggestions. teri

OK I'm pretty computer smart, but it's all filled out. Do we delete whomever's information that is? I see it's from 2004. teri -
Just Need to Vent

I'm sorry I take offense of the comment about chronically bringing the kids to appts. My twins go everywhere with me. They have been to EVERY appt. They were at my mom's the day of my surgery. They go there for support group, as I've already become an important person there, running the clothing exchange, but my oldest son goes with me to help carry clothing in/out. My kids are well behaved 90% of the time, even the twins in the midst of the terrible 2's. They are staying home for my first fill, but that's the first appt they'll miss. My oldest son goes often, as he is genetically prone to being overweight, as me and his father, and both sets of grandparents are overweight. So since he's slim now, I let him see how HARD this is. I don't want him to fall down the same slippery slope (and have discussed this with my surgeon and his staff). They actually are fully on board, and have discussed the thoughts I've shared with them at support group. Now there are several mommies and daddies bringing their preteen kids in for a wake up call. :Dancing_biggrin: I don't bring my kids there because I can find sitters often. I bring them there because they need me to be around. teri -
I'm just really struggling with the whole hunger issues. I get hungry about 2 hours after I eat, sometimes if I'm more careful about extra Protein I can go almost 3 hours before I'm starving. teri

Going Stir Crazy!!!
terilynn112 replied to cattoy71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Like Kiz I could drive 24 hours after I no longer needed pain meds. Truth be told I ended up driving the thursday after a tuesday surgery (just 4 miles). Friday I drove considerably more, and paid for it. I didn't drive again until sunday and then tuesday after that. Teri -
The best advice you will ever get regarding the band:

I get a horrendous pressure that gets real uncomfortable when something sticks. Thankfully so far it passes instead of coming back up. Teri -
I've had the opposite happen with bp. They're considering adding meds for it. Because all of a sudden I'm high. :tongue2: But I'm off my sugar meds since the surgery. teri

I think we all think that way.. or I have actually changed batteries in my scale, thinking that thing is lying. It said the same thing then too. teri

I even drank fiber all Water addative YUCKY! They tasted like cardboard really! It didn't help. Hope you get working again regularly. teri -

I am finally normalizing. Much like you I lived on colace those first weeks. I'm 1 month and 3 days post op, and for almost a week now I've been regularly almost every day. No meds needed. Teri -
Gosh that sounds so good, Im gonna go out and get some pumpkin stuff... The turkey I'm cooking smell so freaking good. I'm scared to death some how I'm not gonna tolerate it well. If I've been roasting a turkey for nearly 5 hours now, and can't enjoy it... I'm gonna be angry! I gotta get moving. Been sitting here, between turkey bastings for an hour and a half. OOPS. teri

Honestly if I go below 1000 (which I'm having trouble hitting) i gain. Teri

Think about it... I know what mine is... I'll be doing great eating properly each day, and then I'll sit down to feed Matthew (my disabled boy), and take a bite here and there. Sometimes it's not even healthy stuff, as they have him on high calorie, high carb foods. So that's not good. Last night I fed him a brownie. WIthout thinking, I licked my fingers. Gosh that tasted good. I almost had one too. But I don't think that's the type of food we're supposed to eat. Exercising is going well. I am even enjoying it most days. Teri

I'm thinking of you today, as you heal and start your journey. I feel bad I didn't do this yesterday, but we're all praying for you, thinking of you, and waiting to hear from you. We are proud of our fellow September Samurai. Hugs teri

I think my scars are infected
terilynn112 replied to blueyedprincess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have one that has a surface infection (just under the actual skin), and they've looked at it a couple times. It's draining now, and discusting. BUT it's healing inside out the dr said. So that's ok... maybe a worse scar, but hey they are my battle wounds. :tongue_smilie: I will win the war! Please do call your dr, and if you think they're infected, please make sure they look at them. teri -
not constipated feeling, but not going either....normal or no?
terilynn112 replied to Losing_It_In_Texas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They do have a liquid colace too... and it's not bad tasting, but you have to get it at the pharmacy counter (no prescription required in NY anyway). I had the same issues, now one month post op, and I'm going nearly every other day on my own. I can't do MOM as my body becomes dependent on it to go. So I stayed with colace, and when I got REAL despirate, with my dr's ok I used miralax (a powder you add to liquids). It wasn't bad. Didn't change the taste of whatever I drank it with. But for me it has gone away. teri
