    tummy bug

I just feel tired so far today. I'm doing ok tummy wise. Not taking a lot of risks, staying to chicken broth, Protein drinks and Water. Oh and I did have some chicken noodle Soup. But other than being drained I feel ok. thanks for thinking of me. (My kids all had this last week- so it was inevitable). teri
  2. I've got it too. But my flu shot was a week ago today. No nausea meds, and no fill yet, as I'm only 6 weeks post op. teri

    Sept. Samurai Surgery Check-in

I have the Lapband AP. I read they have a 7 cc and a 10 cc band. I'm not sure which one I want. teri

Sorry, I'm a little late introducing myself....

I'm going thru the same thing. I haven't yet had my first fill. Because I'm diabetic (although my sugars are GREAT!) they made me wait longer to make sure I'm well healed. I've had issues with healing before. I do a lot of distraction therapies before I give in to the munchies... I'll get up and clean, or do something to keep my mind and hands busy. teri

    Sept. Samurai Surgery Check-in

I run the clothing swap in our group. Fun.... means a lot of work for me. But hey I also get first chance at the clothing  Teri
  7. I can't believe you're eating chicken already. I had to wait two full weeks then to puree it for another 10 days. The chicken sat wonderfully at that point. The only thing so far for me, that causes nausea is if I try to eat to fast. OR bread. Bread doesn't go well for me. And I'm completely unrestricted at this point. teri

    Lap-Band in Upstate NY

Hello all. I'm officially in Bandster hell. I can eat whatever, and I'm hungry. Thankfully my fill date is November 4th. Not soon enough, as I've gained back a pound. YUCK! But far from the 270 I started out at. I'm working on my wii fit daily. Enjoying that. I can do the step aerobics, and then go into the free step for 20 minutes, and top 2000 steps. That's cool. When I started the 10 minutes and making 600 was difficult. Anyone doing anything for halloween? teri
  9. WTG Becky. I'm proud of you! Even with all the crap you had to deal with waiting for your surgery thanks to the hurricane, you have done so great. Teri

    Questions??

I'm heading into the teens with my first son. The twins are 2 and a half. So I do have a sense of what you're going thru. My oldest prior to the band makes me wanna tear my hear out, and add the band, and the twins in... and I'm gonna end up bald. I'm positive of that. That said... We have to hold on. Life is hard. But we will make it thru. Take your two yr old for a nice long walk. It's amazing what a wonderful listener the two yr old is. I talk to my twins all the time. The one is starting to answer me back and on rare occassions repeat what I say. But hey... it's helpful. Teri
  12. WTG Becky. Hey if you still have my email, can you email me? My pc crashed and I lost my address book with your address in it (email address). Wanted to email you the other day, to see how you're doing. Glad you've had your first fill already. I feel like I'm the only one not having one yet. Am i????? I'm doing ok. Boys costumes (made from scratch) are done... well the twins are made from scratch. Brandon has a store bought one- his choice. The twins are dinosaur and panda bear. They are adorable. Brandon says this is his last year trick or treating. I don't know. Time will tell. What else... I weighed myself this morning. I've gotten in a not so wonderful habit of weighing each morning (most mornings), and found out I've been at 226 two days in a row. I've gone as low as 225, and average out to be 227 currently. How sweet. I have 27 pounds (I'm counting it that way anyway) to be in one-derland. It's raining today, has me all achy. Tomorrow it'll be nice, and we'll go out to the "mall" for trick or treating, and activities of this such. I will get tons of walking done. And the twins will have mixed attitudes of it. Michael doesn't like the costumes. Matthew loves them. I dread the candy being here. Teri

    September 16th surgeries

How is everyone? Are we all back to exercising? I'm doing a combo exercise. Every other day I do extra wii fit, and the light day I also do the gazelle. I'm seeing differences in my stamina. I am still without any fill. November 4th is my big day. I'm so looking forward to it. Teri

    pills...scared

My office says 3 weeks. That said, I took my pain pill for my back 10 days post op, but it's the size of a birth control pill. They said it was ok. I can take most any pill now. I was so scared of it in the beginning. MY biggest concern is toradol is a NSAID. We're supposed to stay away from them. Please be careful! teri

    First Fill

It's when the dr adds Fluid to the band, to give you more restriction. It can't come soon enough. But I'm working tons... I actually did step aerobics for 45 minutes, at high intensity already this morning. teri

    First Fill

Well done you two! I won't have mine done under flouro, unless they have issues getting in. I don't think they will, because truth be told if you stand at the right angle from me, you can see the lump where my port is. Weird thing is I've lost a lot of my tummy already. Hips and butt are huge and thunder thighs, but hey they're shrinking slowly. teri

    the biggest loser (7)

I like the yoga program, and enjoy the step aerobics. I do not have steps in my home, and it gets my heart beating faster. I do not run, although I'd like to pick it up someday. Seems like a great stress reliever. teri

    Diabetes and Lap Band

My surgeon's said you can't do byetta with the band, it will erode the band. Have you been able to start working out? The few days I had higher, I didn't do my morning work out. Trust me now I do it faithfully every morning. Teri

    Calorie Goals for loss

Gosh you give me hope. I cold eat tons more, but also stop at 1 cup. I've sort of plateaued too. But am having my first fill in less than 2 weeks. I'm stoked to have SOME restriction again.

    the biggest loser (7)

I use my wii fit daily, if nothing more for the yoga stretches. I am back doing the step aerobics almost daily now.
  25. We're mostly all banded... Nayray is coming up soon. How is everyone doing? When is your first fill? (or in the case of a few here, next?) How's the weight loss going? What about the food stages we're in? I'm doing ok. I've pulled some muscles in my upper abdomin/lower ribcage. Time will heal it, until then it'll be slow going. I've been approved for low impact exercise. I'm down a total of 12 pounds since my surgery, and only have 4 more days of mushies, and I get to slowly start a real food diet. I'm both excited, and dreading it. Not sure I'm ready to handle "freedom" of choice. I'm afraid i'll try to eat to much, and get stuck, or damage my band. Oh and my first fill is currently scheduled for November 4th. Second for December 3rd. Teri
