For the singles here... Just do this..
terilynn112 replied to h@rt*s mommy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi. I'm 37, single mom of three boys (see my avatar). Never married. I live in upstate NY (cooperstown area). Nice to meet ya'll. teri -
Try covering them with saran wrap. It holds the moisture in. IF I can't do leftovers... I'll do without. I make large meals, and my kids need to eat. Teri

What's everyone eating on Thanksgiving?
terilynn112 replied to Catherine55's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Funny this was brought up. A couple weeks ago, fresh out of the mushies stage, I made a complete thanksgiving dinner. I found the stuffing difficult to go down, without tons of gravy. The potatoes just slide down. The meat, the way I cook turkey is nice and moist, so that went well too. The veggies, well I'm doing fine in that area too. Pies, well the crust got gummed up and hurt going down at first. Since then I've had one, going on two fills, and am a little more nervous about it. But I'll have a small amount of stuffing, and potatoes. Maybe some veggies, not sure yet. For sure I'll get my 3 ounces of meat. I work real hard not to skimp on my Protein. Teri -
Hi OPL I too have nearly 3 yr old twins. So cool. :tongue2: Mine are boys, one is well, one has severe disabilities. He has cerebral palsy. Anyway, the gas is bad here too. MY boys love it. My oldest son has noticed it smells worse is I have to drink the Protein shakes. So I have to wonder if it has something to do with the protein. Dot like you I'm blessed with wonderful dr's literally 20 minutes away. And I'm in the country side, so I was surprised by that. And it's even a center of excellence. I'm glad because my insurance wouldn't have paid if it wasn't. The tummy bug has left me. It hit my oldest, and me, and I'm hoping it doesn't hit the twins. Teri

Maybe this will help you with MOTIVATION
terilynn112 replied to cattoy71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm relatively newly banded (nearly 2 months), and will not let this 6-9 month issue get me. I plan to get where I'm going (with no formal goal- just to be comfortable in my own skin) in a undetermined amount of time. It will happen. It took me years to get this big... it'll take years to get it off. Teri -
I posted these questions in the fill forum yesterday but no one answered..please help
terilynn112 replied to Losing_It_In_Texas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded nearly a week before you (9-16) and I have also a 10 cc band. I had (without my knowledge) 3 ccs already at surgery. I have now 4 ccs, and will have another cc 2 days before thanksgiving. So I'll be at 5 cc's for thanksgiving. Hope it gives some, but not to much. teri -
A 2 yr lapband and left with a fat bulge at waist
terilynn112 replied to nkotowicz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
maybe the surgeon can write a letter showing medical necessity? teri -
I have a question. Is it the weight loss since surgery or since starting our lapband journey? If it's since starting... I'm 44 pounds. teri

I too had a hysterectomy, and still retain fluid, among other symptoms of an impending cycle. I had it two weeks ago almost. Weird thing was, I lost 4 pounds of fluid overnight, when I would have gotten my af. teri

That show just bugs me. John and Kate plus 8. They have multiples, and then go aggressively at ivf again... and have 6 more? OMG I'd shoot myself. I love kids, and have a set of mulitples too. But they're my last. I won't chance another multiples birth. I missed 4 months of my older son's life, being pregnant with the twins. Why? high risk pregnancy. I can only imagine with that many, she must have been on bedrest most of the pregnancy. I wasn't even on bedrest, but modified, so I was homebound, and had to lay down often. Then she like totally does nothing but hit her husband (playfully) and complain. Does she ever do anything fun alone with any of the kids? WITHOUT complaining! sorry... just my opinion. Don't mean to put anyone down, and truthfully I watch about every other week. Just she bugs me. Teri

I did great when I had great restriction soon after the surgery. No cravings, no desire to munch. So I'm hoping to get that back, at least to some degree. teri

Mine varies in items... most are fitness related, or clothing teri

I so totally agree. I'm glad someone posted (thank you to those that did) the note. I don't tivo, and I watched it in real time last night. I missed what it said. OMG I so hope two blue team end up under the yellow line.... or on the chopping block. Would totally make me happy. What would be the ultimate... VICKI and HEBA!!!! I usually totally love the blue team, but I jsut dispise them this year. Truthfully I have been routing for Colleen, but any black team member would be grand. teri

WtG Simon. You're doing great. You're lucky your dr does more aggressive fills. Mine only gives 1 cc at a time. Thank God it's only 20 minutes away. We have a tummy bug in this house again. School aged children here too... can ya tell? Anyway, I got a touch so far of it. MY oldest has vomitted several times. Thank God he's still drinking, and keeping most of that down. Anyway I called my surgeon's office, and now have a script called into the pharmacy for phenerghan. But I'm to call him if I actually vomit. Yippee. teri

I have the outdoor challenge on my wish list for christmas too. I'm hoping my dbf gets it for me. Although I have my doubts. teri

I'm still strugglng with binging. It's better, in that I can't eat the mass amounts. And if I keep myself busy it's not so bad. That said it's still a struggle, but I'm not at my sweet spot yet either. Maybe in time I'll tame that monster. teri

How much did they put in your first fill?
terilynn112 replied to a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I will get 1 cc per fill, until we're trying to tweak it to just right. I got one... will get another one november 25. Teri -
I was so glad to see Brady go. I mean he's an ok guy, but it is the blue lines breaking... boy Bob will be pissed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! teri

I do at times. My dr's warned me because of being diabetic I'd have it more than say a non-diabetic. But in support group I hear it's pretty evenly spread. teri

Had lap band surgery, but never followed up
terilynn112 replied to benmond's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As a stubborn lady myself, all you can do is encourage her, and be there for her. But don't be pushy. Teri -
I know my messed up body is gonna hold on to every ounce of fat it can.... unless I work it off. So I'm working... hard most days. It's a real struggle with the boys, but I'm lucky in that, the twins sleep until 7:30ish, so i get my oldest up for school. Make his breakfast, and go to the exercises at home. Then I get him moving (as he's usually back to sleep again), and go shower. Then the twins get up. I eat breakfast with them. It's the only way I get a chance. If the twins are up early, or something happens I can't get it in, and I'm done for the day. I did it because the boys need their momma for a long time yet. Even my oldest will need me around for a while longer. And my diabetes was getting worse. I had pain in my joints, and my dr's couldn't decide if it was arthritis or my weight. Truthfully I still don't know. But I hope to eliminate the weight factor. Well anyway, Thanks for the compliment Dot. You're doing great too. I'm proud to have met such wonderful people here. Teri

Truth be told... I have 100 more pounds to loose. So like you I have a lot to loose, but have only lost 14 since surgery. This last week, I've lost and gained the same 2 pounds.( teri

I got sick the day after my band was placed. I coughed myself right into have bronchitis. That said... I have had no problems with my band. I wish I had more restriction, but that's coming. teri

I just wanted to say, and have wanted to say... Thank you all for the support, prayers, and encouragement. You are a wonderful group of people, and with each other, we will conquer the scale  teri

6 Months Out and Losing Faith
terilynn112 replied to neptune693's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just wanted to encourage you, you should not ever be afraid to call your dr. They're there to help you. They want the best for you. You, or your insurance company, pay them a lot of money to help you get to your goal. You've done wonderfully, but I see you want more... so just work with your dr. Good luck teri
