Struggling to get Shakes In
Mr Alley Gator replied to Brinleigh's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Try making your own remember the shake is not the only way . Take one shake and substitute the other two with the protean soups. That is what I did like the soups better then the drinks bottom line get the protein in any way you like does not have to be in shake form -
Same here would eat At Mc Donalds almost daily in college. Actually never stopped till Post Op

Mr Alley Gator replied to Loopyjane12a's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Switch you diet and do some Fasting - Drop one day below 500 calories and then the next bump to 900 then back down. Intermitted fasting during it also. Time to trick the body to start burning again -

Mr Alley Gator posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So for all of you who had it done this year How was you first Eating Fest Holiday Survival? I saw all the posts prior to thanksgiving worried and confused as to how to handle it. Vets pass on your experiences also - So how did you first T Day go? I will start Mine- Well this is my second thanksgiving so I new what to expect, Cooked 5 Turkeys feed the army of family friends and then vacuum sealed all the leftovers. I picked and nibbled but never even had a plate down just used a little ramicon throughout the day. No mental problems No issues. Way better the last year my first turkey day, was stressed and aggravated and mostly jealous of those pounding down pounds of Food. Now not a issue So Friday took all the college kids (had Notre dame, University of Florida, FGCU, Sienna, and Ohio state Represented) out fishing, Great more food and vacuum sealing. Just for the fun of it Fish picture Now Post op I am the one behind the two kids kneeling down and the other one is a PRE WLS pic photo - Now eating a pound of fried fish I do miss - Hope everyone had a good holiday -

Why different diets from different doctors?
Mr Alley Gator replied to Normandagle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nova Nailed it they all have plans they designed. My doctor never really focused on diet he recommended i get a Dietician to set my plan. However i ate a ton of beans and hummus during the journey down Now i eat whatever i want including potatoes. -
Privacy concerns...?
Mr Alley Gator replied to MeTooToo's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This must be a female thing? I did not tell anyone and now after getting to where i want to be if people ask i just say I was done with being FAT- I focused on my diet and health and using other tools with exercise I managed to do it. FYI your tool is going to give you portion control so the first time you eat with others going to be pretty obvious something is goofy. When they woof down a sub and you eat a 4 oz meal and shake. This is your decision and your life what others think or view who the hell cares. I would rather be thin and healthy with some opinions thrown at me, then fat and unhealthy w/no views or opinions from others -
Besides water, what do you like to drink?
Mr Alley Gator replied to Horseshowmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gator Aid and IV in a bottle are my go to. I am addict to diet coke but since the surgery only about 2 cans a day Not good but i love it. Also buy almost every crazy specialty drink that is in a store Just to try them - and of course my nightly White Russian for calories and Night cap -
As a fellow male i figured this problem out I did the same thing. I used to make the Shake/ Smoothie and go sit on the back porch. Every so often that same thing would happen. Some other guy on this site posted this to me You may be at a point when sitting and drinking thick liquids is becoming difficult Try Walking around during this phase and see if it flows thru better while moving around. It worked for me and for about 4 weeks had to drink and eat standing up or moving around a little, It then passed and now no problems. Your body is healing right now and is going thru Shock and Awe. So weird ass stuff is going to happen.

Can I switch places with any of you guys above. Huge gathering outside by the pool and this guy gets the job of cooking 5 Huge Turkeys - My college kids want two bacon wrapped two smoked and one friend Pounds of mashed potatoes Massive pans of stuffing and casseroles and of course all the bread Now lets add a table of desserts to the list! But you know what. I am a chef and my kids also are getting older, So i can not wait to cook it all for all our family and friends! Because what you all said above is the most- Great Memories that i will remember and they will remember and pass on to there kids - So get my ramekin ready for T-Day dinner a whole 4oz at a time, Nice thing is i can pick all day while doing it.
