Do not panic. We all have had our days during the journey. the mind games are brutal and you body is fighting back now. I agree with above So you messed up , just move on and clear your head! Have no clue how you could eat pork skins but oh well Time to get back to being healthy. You worked hard for this and just look around the reward for you hard work is just ahead a little. or Stay on you addiction and be unhealthy and die young most likely suffering from disease related to your weight. Only two options you have - Yes its brash but the truth is the truth You got this

What should I expect?
Mr Alley Gator replied to Milissa's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Just bring what ever you want to wear loose sweats - I personally as a guy jumped into a pair of cut of sweat pants and a loose shirt. Its game time after surgery and walking the halls is the key. so you most likely do not want your ass hanging out so comfy loose clothes. As for the waist thing i say no f'in way - I do not think you want compression or anything pushing on your belly -
Going to get blasted for this one. Wine is a liquid but for real use broth and puree soups sip all day - it is not easy but you can do it! i found using a nutra bullet and puree soups helped. Home made broth will fill you up and will kill time making it. set you phone to let you know when to drink the shakes. Make your own also fun and can add fruits and peanut butter to them -

Is this normal?
Mr Alley Gator replied to JadeVonFox's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Normal as can be - I have said this a hundred times on this site - it is a journey and it will pay off ............... DO not focus on the scale or you will be in a rubber room with a jacket the buckles from the back. The head games are tough and just focus on a new lifestyle of eating healthy and managing your addiction to food. Focus on your vitamins and minerals. The rest will come and the weight will fall off We all have been there it is not easy at the start but once you get the hang of it -------GAME ON i started out like you weighing myself and driving myself nuts. Then i weighed in once a month and turned my focus to my new healthy lifestyle. Trust me it works -
How many carbs in post-op diet?
Mr Alley Gator replied to BigSue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nutritionist said stay clear of them as much as you can = I was less then 50 a day and still stay real low, You need them for energy after the journey but i was told less then 50 a day -

gastric sleeve vs. Gastric bypass
Mr Alley Gator replied to new_lease_on_life's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I did the sleeve and I can say I am happy with it - Everyone above nailed it but i just want to say been a easy ride blow off all the weight and Having no problem keeping it off. But this is sometimes a pain in the ass i end up malnourished and dehydrated alot. Not sure if the other methods make it easier then the sleeve to stay nourished and hydrated. Either way you decide you gotta do it best decision i have ever made -
Full Liquids and Spice
Mr Alley Gator replied to SupRNurse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
GO SLOW OR YOU WILL BE PUNISHED BIG TIME! As a male and someone who has tested the envelope his whole life i tried to push and mix stuff up. I will just tell you what i did and hopefully it will give you some guidance I purreed some rice into my broth about 4 days out and slammed it. Of course it was rice with seasoning and the broth was loaded. It hit hard and within minutes came flying back up. Was not a fun experience. So take it slow As a trained chef i would go about 10 of the spice you used to use and move up from there, but heck ya mix er up and enjoy the journey -

Is anyone else as disappointed...
Mr Alley Gator replied to Luv2cruz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My Nutritionist encouraged 10 hour fasting and she mixed up the calories, At 600 calories a day you are going to break free of this stall and shred the weight. One thing mix up your diet a little try different foods, My go to was seeds and nuts Low calories and kept. There is no doubt the first 6 months are a b***h. But it will work and there is all the proof in the images here. -
Question for those in maintenance: Full v not hungry after meal
Mr Alley Gator replied to loridee11's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I just eat based on what i know i can handle, Unlike some I get full easy and it sucks if you over fill. I to this day never get hungry, Can go days without eating and never get hungry, I think my doc cut out those nerves. My view is just eat a good healthy normal portion and enjoy your life. -
Is anyone else as disappointed...
Mr Alley Gator replied to Luv2cruz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Welcome to the mission! Been there done that! Ok trust me on this, you have to not let it get to you, you will end up in a rubber room with a jacket that buckles from the back. Everyone above nailed it, Mix up your diet alot, different foods, try some fasting, and flucuate you calories I would do 3 days at 1100 calories then drop to a day of 500 then bump to 800 - That really worked for me Your body is saying WTF and is trying to conserve its fat = You gotta trick it. Love the post above Its not the scale, You will get there we all have and it will be the best journey you have ever done -
Amazon has them but they are no where near as good as the ones here - but as a filler may work If you get in a jam PM me i have a extra set can send to you

Feeling so weary
Mr Alley Gator replied to RainbowBrite57's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are normal do not panic! I would have to say all of us or most of us felt the same way, Just done with it. I beat the hell out of my body thru poor choices and a hell raising lifestyle. Now a year after surgery I feel 30 again and healthy and happy. You mind is playing games also which is very common You got this -
There are a million posts on this topic here. Everybody is different and your body is fighting back. I found mix a little 12 hour fast in it and mix up your calorie count one day do your 1200 next day do 900 - The key is you have to trick your body into burning again. Right now it says no way Conserve fat Conserve But great job and the lifestyle change will come and become way easier

Things I won't miss about being fat!
Mr Alley Gator replied to ChubRub's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Love this post was gone for awhile from here but good idea 1. Struggling to tie my shoes 2. As a guy not comfortable with shirt off 3. Fitting in a Airplane seat with no belt exstender 4. Not being able to fly in a helicopter 5. Getting winded fast on stairs or other activities like fishing 6. Most importantly I do not miss FOOD -
I am in Naples and had a great run last year and hit my goal end of year lost 165 I totally agree with you Done with Meal prep - Done with focusing on it and just have started enjoying life Would love to help PM me anytime will hit you back Aj

And driving himself! Game on for him!
-
Ok everyone struggles in the beginning in portion and quality and such. I am amazed you can handle a crab cake so early. It took me about 4 months to handle fried food. I used a nutritionist to get me to goal. We focused on good quality and realistic portions. For example it was easier for me to eat 5 times a day vs 3 - It is simple Math! Keep you calories less then you burn and eat healthy! FYI no you did not do damage most likely we all have been there it is not easy to adjust to the new life style but in time it falls in place.
-
Trust me on this - As soon as you can get out of bed start moving around walk you self all over the place, The more you do now will get the Air Out. ALL vets here will tell you the same thing, Congradulations and welcome to the club
-
WOW we all are in the same group - Cajun and Mojo I am a trained chef but for some reason since the surgery go to the two above the most. One other new one in my army of rubs, sauces and spices is Smoked Salts! Never really used it pre Op but now love it
