  2. Thank you I’ll get some
  3. Hi, no it’s just they’re the only thing I prefer to “eat” that have nutrition. Everything else just grosses me out. Only other thing I eat is sugar free jello and pudding.I don’t know if I’m nauseous, I’m prescribed omeprazole for the first 30 days after surgery . And yes you’re right my doc did say make sure I get my protein and fluids.
  4. I am 11 days post op and a bit of a hypochondriac. Sorry if this is TMI but I have been taking Bariatricfusion complete chewable multivitamins for about 5 days now and my poop is black for the first time. And when I drink water or protein shakes I don’t feel any restriction anymore. By that I mean It’s not as noticeable. I’m also on 40mg omeprazole which I open the capsule and put into applesauce. Also I’m a bit nauseous and there’s lots of gas rumbling in my stomach. My surgeons office is closed today and tommorow so I’m don’t know what to do. Is this normal?
  5. Thank you, I certainly will check with my surgeon on Monday.Congrats on being sleeved also!
  6. I had surgery on March 2nd. It’s it okay if I drink peach iced tea crystal light? My discharge instructions say it is okay?.just wondering about anybody’s experience with drink crystal light shortly after op
  7. I have read that the surgery will be canceled if they see any cuts on your stomach due to possible infection. my burn is small and there’s a small piece of skin that is peeled off. I’ve googled where they would make the incisions and the burn isn’t really near there but its at the bottom right of my belly button. Is there a chance my surgery might be canceled? I have had it rescheduled twice :(
  8. Update: I got my surgery finally :))

    February 2021 Sleeve Surgery

Hi! Thank you so much for the well wishes it got delayed until next week
  10. I’m a bit disappointed but I’m happy that I get another couple of days to lose more weight on my liquid diet!
  11. Hi everyone my surgery got delayed again for another 8 days. Yesterday I had felt really weird and it scared me, I think my blood pressure was way to low so I ate a half of a boiled egg and had a piece of candy. I’m on a liquid diet to shrink my liver and I lost 14 pounds already. Hope this isn’t tmi but I haven’t been able to use the bathroom so I was wondering would the egg and candy still be in my stomach days later.

    Surgery delayed

    Thank you ♥️♥️
  13. Hi everyone. I have to do a liquid diet for a week, as I have a fatty liver and the liquid diet will put me in ketosis. My surgeon told me to drink five protein shakes a day but I am worried that is too much. This is my first day and I’m thinking about just drinking chicken broth, eating sugar free jello, and drinking Gatorade zero. I have to stay under 1000 calories. Will those foods still put me in ketosis?

    February 2021 Sleeve Surgery

    February 2nd!
  15. My surgeon has said that he isn’t sure if my insurance will approve my surgery.I am following up with him in 4 weeks and I just watched someone who got sleeved on YouTube explain that getting a case nurse may help with chances of approval. I don’t want to seem like I’m going against my surgeon or decreasing my chances because my age plays a factor, yet I’m not sure if my plan includes bariatric surgery. I want to call today as I have seen the surgeon yesterday but the last time I had rushed to call I had been stricken with bad news.

Should I get a case nurse

Attending appointments with me, and being very supportive.May I ask why you asked me this question? If it makes sense, I’m way more tech savvy and although they’re doing research themselves it’s easier and faster for me since I’m the one potentially getting surgery.

    What should I do?

I’m kind of worried I won’t get approved.I’ve been trying to get this surgery for two years. The only problem is that I’m underage. Two years ago I was accepted into a bariatric surgery program at a children’s hospital, but my insurance wouldn’t approve because it was in the next state over. (We were desperate because I had got diagnosed with high blood pressure)My mom and I were basically told to change my insurance to Horizon NJ Health because they have programs as well.We had to wait about a year for me to change it and get my card. Then, for me to be accepted into a program I had to be 15. I’m turning 16 in a few months. I’ve saw an endocrinologist, participated in a fitness/weight program, and tried diet and exercise on my own( my mom even hired a personal trainer for me). All of that has occurred in the past 3 years yet nothing has worked long term.My surgeon that I went to a consultation for today had accepted me into the program but had told me and my mom that my insurance won’t let me get surgery until or because I am not 18 years old. I’m not complaining, because I understand I am young but I have 4 co-morbidities ,I’ve been on high blood pressure medication since I was 13,and I’ve had sleep apnea since I was 5. My surgeon ordered an xray that will show if my bones have stopped growing or not. He said once I have completed everything required he will try. Its just confusing because there are programs that are for 15 to 18 year olds.I’m happy to be going through with the program but I don’t want to be disappointed.

    What should I do?

Thank you so much!I really really hope so.I mean my BMI is a 49... and the program my surgeon offers is three months so I guess in December hopefully

Should I get a case nurse

My health insurance says that it has to be considered medically necessary because I am an adolescent, and I’m not sure, I thought that they would. I’m going to call tomorrow.
