    Snacks on the go

Costco sells pre-packaged meat & cheese snacks (310 calories per). I usually divide them into 2 small tupperware for snacks or just eat it for dinner lol They also have small snack packs of chicken but they taste a little too vinegar for my taste BUT they're only 100 calories. Good luck!

    Incisional Scars and Creams?

I just had my 3 month post op visit and the doctor recommended Mederma. I just purchased it and will be using it. Let's hope it helps!

    Multiple Surgeries At Once

I had my gallbladder taken at the same time as my sleeve. Surgeon wasn't sure he was going to do it until he got in there. Kaiser had been trying to take it for years (I've had stones causing me issues and I refused to give it up for some reason) and they finally got it. My recovery wasn't as easy as everyone else has described and I suspect it's because they had to pull out my gallbladder plus some massive stones (the one I was allowed to keep was bigger than my entire thumb). My abdomen hurt for 1-2 weeks after and I was worried I was going to give myself an hernia just sitting up/standing up/sitting down. No lingering pain from the loss of my gallbladder though.

Am i gonna puke all the time??

I hate vomiting. I'm a crier. In the last 4 months post op I've vomited twice. Both times were self induced to get the gross feeling to go away. The first time was 3 weeks out I had eaten too much. I tried to walk it off to help it digest and it didn't work so I forcibly purged. Last weekend I tried peanut m&ms. That didn't go so well either. Self induced because I got nauseous. Other than that no vomiting at all. I just moved too far too fast or ate things I shouldn't have. Just follow the rules and you'll be fine.

Monthly Cycles 3 month post op

I've had an IUD in for 5 years prior to having the surgery. I did not have a period in all that time. Now, 3 months post op I'm getting them randomly (and multiple spotting events in a month) and I really hate it. I have ruined underwear that doesn't fit me anymore which isn't a problem but when I gave in and bought new underwear I accidentally ruined that. I finally gave in and bought tampons and will have to buy panty liners to save my new undies. I had a post op visit today and the doctor just threw up her hands and was like, "We can never guess what it will do to you" and she was happy that I understood the random nature of the recovery process. Good luck. I'm following this thread for anyone who has answers because I'm looking for them too!

    Hungry post op

Same boat. I was hungry days 1-3 and I didn't have to watch anyone eat (so sorry). I started eating soup and jello because I couldn't take it. My husband has accidentally brought home food that smelled delicious. We have a deal that if he's going to do that I'm either going for a walk or he eats it before coming in the house until my stomach controls my mind a little less. Thankfully it's getting easier. I went to a family BBQ and I brought refried beans to eat while they ate everything I really wanted *sigh*. All I can say is you can do it, just find solutions that work for you. It's a terrible mental and psychological game for the first few weeks. Good luck.

    having trouble breaking 400 calories

I was told that I should aim for 64 ounces liquid and 60 grams protein for the first two weeks. My surgeon and program was very clear in saying that most days we may not be able to make that but we should try. I'm in week 2 and still in a liquid stage. I think I broke 400 calories once and that was because I ate 1/4 cup of cream of chicken soup over the course of the day. Once I realized I shouldn't rely on that calorically I've hovered under 400 thanks to protein shakes. In the last 11 days since my LGS I've lost 15 lbs. I'm actually worried I'm losing weight too fast and can't wait to get to the pureed part of the diet. Good luck! And always call your doctor/dietician/program if you have concerns 🥰
