    Not a Success Story

I, too, have not been very successful in my journey with the LapBand. I'm am 62, almost 63 and had my surgery 2 years ago. I have lost almost 100 pounds, but I started at 327. I'm now at 239, so still need to lose about 100 more pounds. My meals are small and that's fine, but then, I want sweets! I guess everyone has there poison, right? I just don't have any willpower when it comes to candy, cake, Cookies, etc. No matter how saline is in my band, sweets seem to go right on down. I cannot eat dense meat like pork chops, steak or even chicken breast because they all get stuck. I have learned that the hard way. I wish sweets would get stuck. Does anyone else have this problem or has anyone come up with a solution? :bored:

    Not a Success Story

Hi, Me, too. I swear I could eat a cow. I have 8 cc's in my 10 cc band and.... nothing. I called the surgeon's office and they said my insurance only covers for me to come in every 6 weeks, so I guess I'll just have to wait. I started at 327 pounds. I'm 5'3" and will be 62 years old next week. I got down to 296 for the surgey and now weigh around 245. I didn't have my first fill for about 6 months, so have lost most of this weight on my own. Needless to say, I am much more comfortable than before but, also, much more wrinkled and flabby - especially my arms. Don't know that the answer is - I'm hoping my surgeon can bail me out at my next visit. :lovechoc:

    Sacramento Area Bandsters?

Thanks. I'm only 5'3", but I'll be 62 years old in September, so it's not like I'm shooting for a bikini or something. I know what you mean about the loose skin, though. My arms are the worst so far. And, my face - I hate when I look in the mirror to put on make up. I feel like I look like Tammy Fay Baker just before she died. Ewwwwww.

    Sacramento Area Bandsters?

I'm not sure. Dr. Machado thinks I should weigh about 140 - most of my friends are thinking about 175. Right now, I'm at 235..... So, I've got a ways to go yet, but it is fun wearing smaller sizes and it's nice that everything isn't a 3x anymore.

    Banded By Dr. Machado? (Sacramento)

Hi... I was banded by Dr. Machado a year ago. Do you guys ever get together as a group? Or meet once in awhile for dinner? Exercise together? I think I would like to do that. Is anyone interested at all?:incazzato:
