Pureed - how do I know if I am full?
bufbills replied to icandothis_gastricsleeve020221's topic in Food and Nutrition
I didn't feel much restriction at all during the puree stage. I measured out everything. Still do. I would get the hiccups when I ate too much pureed food. It takes a while to figure it all out. When you start eating real food, you'll know. -
Bariatric Advantage Ultra Solo with Iron is what I take. It was recommended in my program. I buy three months at a time.

Curious... How long before you could eat your first piece of pizza?
bufbills replied to FINFAN3DP's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
First slice was this past Saturday. Almost 3 months post surgery. Good, New York Pizza, from my favorite spot. Split one slice with my 3 year old grandson. He finished his, and I made it through half of mine. Lol. So 1/4 slice, but it was good, and I was happy. Before surgery, I could do 5 or 6 slices. -

bufbills replied to mischa23's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hang in there Mischa. You'll be with your mom again when its time. For now, concentrate on doing what they tell you to do both preop and post. Most importantly, the recovery process is temporary, and will pass. You'll will do great!! -
Yea, its awesome to be wearing smaller clothes. I went from 44 to 38 jeans.

Did you have to pay anything with insurance?
bufbills replied to Chantrella's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If your deductible is already met, and your maximum out of pocket is as well, you should be good to go. Just call your insurance company. -

No matter what you do, there will be someone who thinks you shouldn't. Just live your life the best that you can. Good luck with your surgery!

The dreaded stalls.... Help
bufbills replied to JomaraElizabeth's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I stall for a week, then lose for four or five days. Its fine as long as I keep trending down. I had a fantastic start, so no complaints here. I did expect it to be more like before surgery when I lost weight. -
Sugery Scheduled for 1/29. Doc is using Davinci Robot!!
bufbills replied to FINFAN3DP's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
5 scars. Very ittle pain. But, about two weeks out I did something to cause a stitch inside the big incision to rip my abdominal muscles. Every time I moved the wrong way, it would do it again. Lasted almost three weeks and the pain was terrible. It finally dissolved and broke and in an instant, the pain was gone. So. Don't over do it. I thought I was at 100 percent, but I was not. I wasn't ready to lift anything or any strenuous activity. Totally my fault. You'll be fine. Just take it easy and do what they tell you. -
I'd ask your surgeon about the restriction. How much can you eat, or are you grazing? This is valuable time for you and you can't waste it. 35 lbs is a good start. Get back in there!!

No insight, but I'm sorry you are having issues. -
Nice work brother!

I stall every other week. I'll go a week or so at the same weight and then lose a couple and so on. Frustrating, but I'm getting used to it.
-
I suffered zero nausea after surgery. Lots of folks don't.

Wasn't an issue with my sleeve. Doc saw it in my labs and wasn't concerned.
