  2. 3 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 3rd Anniversary Trish1973!

  3. Your categorizing. That is very wrong what you said about nurses. I work every day with those that are on Hospice care, dying. I am very competent at my job, can even use a bedpan.

    where and when?

They are going to want to do several different clearances with you (the surgeon will decide if he/she wants you to see an endocrinologist, cardiologist, pulmologist etc...) pre~surgical,,(considering your history I'm critically thinking ahead) and do allow some time pre and post for any small issues..... I thought, ahhh, no prob but I did have a sore muscle glitch, fine now though. I would hope that really you could go ahead and get the ball rolling (as it has a long hilly area to roll around in to get this started) in the area you are currently in and still perhaps have someone in your second area that you could pay a visit to if needed. Even a primary doc ((mayyybe)) that could address small things,,,,,not fills of course but you know that. This is a toughy and I'm not much help but had to say, Good Luck!!! And what a GREAT choice you have made!!

    lap band surgical disaster

Ohh Baby!! My prayers will be for you!! You have a low BMI, I vote you go the old fashioned route!! and not try this again. God Bless You!! I pray for a brighter future for you...........trish
  9. Hello Trish, I'm not yet banded, but will be VERY soon (within the next 6 weeks) and I too could use some friends on here, so....let's be friends. Sorry I cannot help you with your port issue. Stephanie

  10. I need to make some lap band friends and.... I have stayed in close touch with my Weight Loss Center and they are well aware of my pain. They did have my doc's collegue see me yesterday but he isn't a primary WL surgeon, he's a general surgeon. (My doc is away in India to be w/ his father, he returns Wed and I have an appt with him that day) The pain is to the left and up of the umbilicus so this allows me to think it's the port as I have read here of pain in the port. (as opposed to pain in the arse) The pain really began on Saturday am && I called off work today b/c the pain was soo overwhelming and I am walking like a little old lady, all scooped over. The pain won't allow me to walk upright. I had previously been walking upright. Anyone exp. this? PLEASE HELP!! love, trish:confused::confused_smile::confused::crying::confused: UPDATE:::WENT TO ER TODAY,,,,HAD XRAYS~CT~My pain is simply a pulled muscle,,has plenty of surgery in the past due to infertility and never experienced anything like this,,very weird, frustrating and a little embarassing....uugghh!!!!!!!!!! Asked for liquid vicodin for the pain and instead they gave me pills when I was at the pharmacy,,,came home and noticed it, not sure how I didn't notice at the drive thru pharmacy but it brought me to tears, quess it's just all the feeling out of control and not being able to properly meet my responsibility. Thanks for listening.

i need a list of mushy foods..

Help!! I am 9 days post op and I can eat any darn to goodness thing I want which has so far been, ministrone soup & salad at Olive Garden today, lean chili for dinner, the protein shakes aren't cutting it anymore. I have NO, I MEAN NO RESTRICTION!! I hate it that I can't exercise b/c I am still so darn sore from surgery, also had Right side hernia repair along with band placement. I have also had low cal cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, baked pot wet w/ low cal sour cream, salsa (have alwayyyys loved! salsa, cannot stay away) I know I'm misbehavin, but I'm otherwise starvin and unable to concentrate at work, I am sure that being down yet from surgery (unable to perform my heavy at home duties, major bummer, as I enjoy caring for my home) is causing me some misery..........I'm going for broke tomorrow, I want to do a fabulous job tomorrow........let me hear from you!!! How did you experienced bandsters get throug this time?? I didn't have near this trouble pre-op diet, the days just flew by and I stayed active at home and work.................

    Hello

Dr. Salimath in Peoria did mine. I am step 2 as well. I can eat everything too. Here I am though at almost 3 in the morning feeling weird b/c my sinus drained last night and it gave me this weird nausea feeling. I go back to work today. I also had hernia repair and yes!! I am VERY sore as well.
  13. I plan on having 'Portebello Pizza',,a recipe that is on my Doc's website,,,Involves cooked spinach, basic soft pizza toppings atop a portebello mushroom as crust. I would have had this pre~band!!!
