Hi all, Maria here. I was banded just last week on 6-7-06 in TJ Mexico by Dr.Kuri. WOW, what a wonderful experience I had. The hotel and hospital was awsome. I just turned 31 on 6-6-06 and celebrated by BD doing my pre-op in TJ. I am married working on my 4th yr of marriage and have an 8yr old son, we live near Tacoma, WA. We have 2 cats. Hopefully will be making an addition to the family as I start to get some of this weight off. I am a stay at home because I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia Nov of 2004 and had to quit my job in May of 2005. My goal is to get some of this weight off and hopefully be able to go back to work part time or work from home. So far I am doing really well, I was blessed with a major burst of energy and I am taking full advantage of it. Walking, getting out side as much as I can. Hello my name is Maria and I just got back from TJ, Mexico. What a wonderful experience. I paid a $500 deposit to get my surgery date, and upon arrival paid an additional $8500.00 This included all hospital fees, all doctor fees, 3 nights at a 5 star hotel, all transportation from the airport, to the clinic/hosiptal and upon discharge from the hospital my transportation to the hotel, and upon leaving MX, back to the airport in San Diego. My surgery was done at Hospital Angeles and the hotel I stayed at was Palacio Azteca. It was a wonderful experiecne and recommend it very much. Dr. Kuri was my surgeon. Good Luck Maria

I have had my IUD for 7yrs now. Mine is a 10 year. I have to say that when I first had it inserted I thought that maybe I had made the wrong choice. I had a lot of cramping for a couple of days and my periods were awful. I was put on the pill for a few months, just to get my periods under contral. But after that, what a blessing it has been. I love not having to worry @ taking a pill or changing a patch. It has been very reliable. I have had no problems. I get my period like every 3-5 months and when I do get it, it last like 2-3 days. Hello Cookgal, Wow, this is making me a little nervous also. I will be banded on 6-7-06 by Dr.Kuri in TJ, Mx. I was told that I needed to do the Adkins Diet just so that my organs will shrink. It's called the Liver shrinking diet. Are you sure that your not trying to do that(shrink organs)? I'm sure you know what your doing, just a thought! Good luck Maria from WA state

Hello, my name is Maria and I live near Seattle, WA. I am currently doing research so that I can have the lap band surgery. I am considering having it done by Dr.Kuri or Dr.Aceves. I have heard lots of good things @ Dr.Kuri, but haven't seen much on Dr.Aceves. All of your information is great, and I hope to be able to make new friends from this site, and get help with finding the right doctor.
