Ugh, I'm pretty sure you can stretch the pouch out and I think I have. And seriously how terrible is that? Banded 16 months ago and have lost 88 lbs to date. But only 30 of that has been this year. I feel like I'm really stuggling especially the last 2 months, stuck at the same weight-not going up or down really. I usually can't eat Breakfast thats my norm. Usually small lunch maybe a cup or less and dinner is variable sometimes a little sometimes ALOT. I can't eat bread or chicken. But I swear my band turns off at 8:00 pm. I suddenly am rummaging through the house looking for Snacks of all kinds after 8. Its funny because that was my problem before the band and somehow though it supposedly "won't fit" during the day it sure does at night. I'm seeing the doctor for a fill again on Monday. I have 8.5cc in a 11cc band. At this point the mental picture in my head of my stomach isn't good. I keed imaging a balloon with a noose around it's middle. So really is filling the bab gonna help. I confused and frustrated. If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it.

Ok so I have a few questions. I have been working out pretty religiously with my sister 3-4 times a week. Mostly we use the treadmill at the gym, I do realize I need to change it up. But, I have a hard time with the stairclimber, I feel as though I'm just not in good enough shape to stay on it long enough to burn as many calories as I can on the treadmill. Same thing with the elliptical. These are my questions I hope someone out there can help me with. When I use the treadmill I enter my weight and check my heartrate often. How accurate are the Lifefitness treadmills at calculating calories burned? Should I really keep my HR in the 65-75% max HR range for fat loss? Is it better to go faster with low incline or slower with high incline? Whats the difference? How bad is it to hold on, I always feel like I'm gonna fall off or fall over sideways? Should I eat before I go to the gym? After? What? I'm working really hard for me right now at pushing this weight off but I don't want to bulk up to much yet. Tonight I walked at a 3.5 speed with incline intervals in twos every 3 minutes up to 12 then down and up for 50 minutes. Treadmill says I burned 600 calories and walked about 3 miles after cooldown. Is that good does it seem right. Should I use less incline and more speed to burn fat. I know theres a bunch of questions but I really want to know if I'm on the right path to skinny. Thanks everyone.

Rice, bread and tortillas o my
justforme replied to rodriguezequal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds to me like alot of you are lucky. I can't even begin to look at bread or even rice. Bread gets stuck and rice makes me sick. I was banded in June and have 7cc in 10cc band. I'm comfortable with my band being tight so I just deal with the limitations. Not at all saying it's easy!!! I miss pizza more than anything in the world. I've guess I've learned to live without it by telling myself how bad it is for me. I want to loss the weight more than I want bread I guess. Grape leaves on the other hand, who can live without those. -
I'm totally confused abiut this stuck thing. Does it happen in your stomach or in your throat? I keep having a hard time with a bad choking feeling like when you get something stuck in your throat and need a drink to wash it down. Is that stuck or is there a different feeling of stuck that I have been fortunate to not have experienced yet? I know your not supposed to drink with meals and I do very well not to but when this feeling happens it's almost impossible not to drink because it feels like I'm gonna choke to death. Has anyone else experienced this.

Boy am I glad I was looking at this tonight. I had surgery June 10 and have been very disappointed in only lossing 12 since surgery with a fill under my belt. I'm getting another fill on the 18th and am hoping for some restriction, right now I can eat pretty much anything but bread. BUT, I HAVEN'T GAINED ANY WEIGHT. Something to be thankful for. We just have to keep our chins up.:wink2:

I had my surgery on June 10 and my first fill on July 21. It seems that there is something not right though, I realize the band is just a tool but I would hope for more after goig through the experience. I lost 18 pounds in pre-op and have struggled to take off another 10 since surgery. I eat much less and alot better than I ever ate before the band but still the weight is not coming off. Its discouraging when you see so many who have lost 30-40 pounds post surgery very quickly. I begged for an other fill which I'm getting on the 18th. I sure hope it helps. Anyway thats my story right now thanks for giving me a place to vent.

Hey everyone, I was banded on June 10 and am trying not to get to concerned about it but my weight is at a complete stand still. I have in total lost 28 pounds, thats 18 during pre-op and 10 since surgery. I will get my first fill on July 21 and can't wait. I don't feel much restriction but am still trying to eat small meals and I'm not snacking. Is it possible to still be in starvation mode and the body is holding on to what it has? I still have not started exercising which I'm sure will help. Any advice to help me move this along will help.:biggrin2:

What is Brunswick Stew and where can I get that? -
Just had pre op appt. Down 18 pounds since starting pre op diet. Tomorrow is the big day and I can't wait to start the rest of my life. Good luck to everyone having surgery this week.:tongue2:

My pre-op diet is nothing but Optifast for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It really has sucked, I have definately missed chewing and eating food but you have to remember theres a huge awesome goal at the end. A new journey to be smaller and healthier. Good Luck

I too, will have surgery on the tenth. Been on pre-op diet almost two weeks now. Just ready to go to sleep and wake up starting a new journey. Good luck to all of you out there getting ready.:biggrin2:

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum and really all this computer chatting stuff too. Took me forever just to figure out how me make this thread then I asked my 14 year old, should have know he would know how. Anyway, I'm having surgery on Tuesday the tenth and am really excited. I never get scared of surgery. I'm scared of failure though. Been large my whole life (big boned you know) and feel like this is a last chance and can't quit thinking I will fail. Any thoughts on exercise options after not exercising in years? oh yeah how do I get the weight tracker bar thing, if I'm gonna do this might as well go all the way, thanks!!!
