Hello! I had my surgery June 2nd of this year and have been feeling some soreness where my port is. Has anybody else experienced this? Or have you heard of this being common due to movement from exercise or should I contact the doctor? Thanks in advance for your responses.

Thanks for your response. I initially thought that it was from exercise, then I noticed the incision was dimpled and that worried me. I had a family member look at it at they said it was probably because I have lost weight and that's why it looks that way. Your thoughts?
-
No, it does not necessarily happen after I eat. Thanks though.

Congratulations! I had my surgery on June 2nd, too. Like you, I'm trying to figure out the process. I am also a little anxious since there is not any restriction now, I don't want to over eat. How are you doing with your portion control?

Swollen lymph nodes/coated tongue
rs2aj3 replied to SandyB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on Monday, June 2nd. I also had the white-coated tongue, due to constipation. Once I started drinking diluted fruit juices and a chewable Benefiber, it went away. I didn't have any issues with my lymph nodes. -
Hello. New to the site, 5 days post-op. The main reason I decided on this procedure was I needed help restricting the amount of food. I talked to one of the nurses on Thursday and told her I was hungry. She told me to add Jello, yogurt and Soup to my diet...but no big chunks. Well, I had some chunks of meat in the soup and some tortilla, too. I was really testing myself expecting a bad reaction but everything went down fine. In fact, I still felt hungry. Today I had some peanuts and still no reaction. I feel guilty for cheating MYSELF like this and not giving it a chance, but knowing myself I also feel like I will keep testing the band since I didn't have a bad reaction. Does this mean my band is not on correctly? Any advice would be helpful.

I appreciate your responses. I guess I wasn't very clear on this part of the process. Your factual information did scare me and I promise not to cheat myself anymore. Thanks again!

I was banded 5 days ago. Talked to the nurse 2 days ago and told her I was hungry. She told me I could add soup, yogurt and jello...just no chunks. I did have some chunks, it did not have any affect on me. I'm afraid my band is not on right. I really needed the band to restrict my eating and am afraid this isn't going to work. I know I need to follow the doc/nurse advice and I full expected to pay for eating more than I should. Since I didn't I'm really nervous the band wasn't placed right. Thoughts?
