    I ate too fast help

Pooh -- I'm glad you're seeing your doc tomorrow; I'm sure s/he will want to know about the sliming and can make a decision about the fill. Good luck and let us all know what was going on.

    I ate too fast help

My doc said that two extra strenth Tums were enough calcium for the day, and you can chew them up. I haven't had any problems with them, so that might work better for you. Good luck!

    I ate too fast help

My nutritionist said to keep some Adolf's Meat Tenderizer on hand and mix a little bit in warm water to help break up the blockage.

    Breathing Pain

Thanks Dana; as you know it always helps to know that others are experiencing similar things! Donna
  7. My surgery was 4 days ago and I feel ok except for bloating and pain in my diaphragm when I take in a deep breath. Is that unusual or just a normal thing? I did not have the shoulder pain that I was almost expecting.
  8. Thanks for your response about the shoulder pain. I am only a little concerned about it becaue I have some shoulder problems to begin with, wanted to know if it will get worse. I see you are 54 -- I am 62 (63 in Aug.) and was concerned that I wouldn't find too many older folks online, so it was good to see your info. even though you're a lot younger than I am!

Good luck with the post-surgery routine. Are you still on clear liquids or have you graduated to other stuff? Dflorio

Thanks for shoulder pain info; I'll check with my surgeon next visit. When was your surgery? How are you doing?

    Psychologist

In my case the surgeon's office handed me a list of professionals (dietitians, psychologists, etc.) to choose from and I just got lucky with the one I picked.
  11. I'm glad I found this site; other generic WLS sites don't have the info I'm looking for so here I am. I live in the Central Coast area of California, will be having my surgery (if all goes well with the insurance) on July 21 with Dr. Pamela Foster in Burlingame, CA. I have a question about the shoulder pain mentioned so often -- does anyone know what causes it? Does it happen to most patients? Thanks!

    Psychologist

I haven't had my surgery yet, but met with a psychologist in the San Jose, CA area. It was great because she had the surgery about a year ago, and told me to feel free to ask her questions, which I did. I feel like she will be a great resource to see after surgery (scheduled for July 21) also. Mostly the discussion will be around your support systems, your own expectations and your willingness to follow the plan.
