Hey Nicolle, I will be going pretty regularly to the meetings. We'll probably bump into one another. He is a really nice guys. His staff is wonderful and his wife is a doll! I am extremely happy with them all. For me, the delay has been the time of year I decided to look into things. Because of the school year (teachers, bus drivers, cafeteria workers etc) all schedule there procedures over the summer - even if they started with Dr. Ahmad in January. I am completely done with everything that is required except the upper endoscopy and losing the 10 pounds (I've lost 5). I should have insurance approval this coming week. However, I'm looking at mid-Sept. for the procedure. I could get in first week of September, but I work at a university and need to get past the first two weeks of the semester when it is craziest before I take a week or so off... I hope that helps. I've been doing research for a long time but I was afraid to talk to anyone about my interest in lapband. My dad did Gastric Bypass last year. He did research and had to do an 18 month pre-op diet plan for his insurance. He made it everyone's business every step of the way, and that is just not my style. I don't want to wait until I'm in my 60s. My dad was too heavy for too long and even now as the weight drops off, he's still in pain and miserable. I want to enjoy life with my family and run and play with my daughter. I go to my first lap band info session, possibly followed by a support meeting next Tuesday June 10th.

Its this kind of list that bumped me into making this decision. It's inspirational and really helps to see other people have the same things. I can't wait to have active fun with my 2 year old I can't wait to ride a bike out in public and not feel like a laughing stock I really look forward to comfortable airplane rides And shopping in a non-plus sized store And fun, interesting do-it anywhere s*x

My insurance approves easily (< 4 weeks) as long as the BMI is over 40. However, my surgeon is booked heavily during the summer due to school year employees that scheduled their surgery for over their summer break. So I went to the info session on June 10th and it will probably be end of August beginning of September for me.

That is an awesome list! I will keep my eyes open for sales on stuff. I appreciate it.

YAY! Congratulations. I just figured out the signature thing today. (someone may have stream lined directions for you) On the right hand side - go to edit profile. Then there will be a link on the right hand side about signatures. You can change what shows up in your signature there. There are plenty of sites to set up tickers - I use tickerfactory.com Good luck!

I agree with JRT. Making a list may really help. I was reading the "What I WON'T miss" thread and bawled my eyes out. It solidified my decision and helped me remember that despite any doubts it is absolutely the best thing for me.

I'm going to Dr. Ahmad's info session tonight. It's nice to hear good things about him.
