insanity:eating candy
skinipete replied to Tranquility's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't be afraid...Romaine is very crunchy as are nuts. Both can be chewed to a pulp. Once in awhile I like a wedge of iceberg but it has about zero nutrients so I don't usually waste my calories on it. -
Dr. Pachavit Kasemsap - Dr. K - great!

skinipete replied to mominkansas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dillards in Fl just put their suits on sale at 70% off!!! I bought a $134 Miraclesuit for ~$40!!!! I feel like a million bucks in it! A 16 would have been perfect but I got a 14 & it fits well. -

Keep your hands busy...have you tried knitting or crocheting? Also yummy food will become easier to make. Since I can only eat X amount of food...I eat what I want. Pieces of sliced steak on a whole romaine lettuce leaf with lite blue cheese dressing. Boiled chicken thigh with yellow rice & salsa. Talapia fried in a little olivio sprinkled with smoked paprika with fresh carrots dipped in lite blue cheese dressing. An egg sandwich with a thin slice of a really nice tomato on melba thin rye toast. AND on a really lazy night...cheese & rye crackers or smoked turkey breast with little slices of cheese rolled up in it. My husband has not been overweight a day in his life & he really likes eating this way....he just eats more than I do. My big goal is to stay away from slider food but, I've found, the longer I'm banded (I was banded in March '08)the less appealing slider food is to me. I used to love love love chips & dip...now I can do without it. I hope we've been able to help you. It does get better & easier. Elizabeth -
I've flown several times & not a peep out of my band. Now the kid behind me was a pain in my butt but I guess that was NOT the question!

Mango...I was sure your cheese had slid RIGHT OFF your CRACKER!!!! Ninner...so how pissed was your mom when you wrecked her couch. Good thing you didn't inject with red wine...that is a stinker to get out! -

I'm 10 mo out & I'm still learning to eat. Too big of a bite, not chewing enough, taking that last bite when I know I've had enough....ALL lead to PBing & the Slimes. When I signed up for this I was a gobbler...I don't think I really chewed anything so it's taking me a long time to learn how to eat. Has anyone noticed that stress will tighten their band like a vise???? I hate it! -
I saw some of you talking about the trikke on here....it looks like fun. I looked at their web site but KNEW y'all could give me more info on it. What are the pros & cons? What are your experiences? What equipment is a must have....well besides the obvious, a Trikke! On the trikke discussion board (I can't remember the name of the site) I saw a lot of people talking about falling off, breaking ribs etc....yikes! I hope that is becasue they are going really fast or that they are doing extreme stuff. Thanks! Elizabeth

I'm in Satellite Beach & was banded by Dr Fusco March 24th. My husband works for Harris & luckily they paid for the surgery (but not the maintenance). You'd think insurances would be smart enough to figure out that paying for surgery will be less $$$ on them in the long run. ...given that being chubby can cause a host of medical problems.

Help, I Cant stop Vomiting!
skinipete replied to slimjimmy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Bless you heart! It's going to seem like a breeze after what you have been thru! -
Call me crazy but I'm more worried about the size of my ass than mu feet!
-
Sounds a bit passive/aggressive to me. Sorry. You should talk to him about it & if he won't examine his motives, see a professional about it before it goes to far.

Luv, you haven't told us...does your bf love you? Men are very strange creatures, they can love to be with you but not actually be in love with you & they will run with that. You are doing the right thing...one day, when you least expect it the one will come into your life. I married straight out of high school & divorced 6 years later,I swore I would never get married again. I dated alot, fell in-like alot, was asked for my hand several times but it wasn't until 14 years later that I looked inot the eyes of my now husband (we've been married almost 18 yrs). We never had children, cause we like the freedom...so don't think you have to have children to check that box off in life. Hang tight! PS - you are adorable, if my son (from hub #1) was not marrying a girl who we cpmpletely ADORE...I would hook you up!!!

SICK OF LOOSING WEIGHT! (yes I really mean it)
skinipete replied to halloween2124's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Halloween....I agree with everyone about buying new clothes! You are looking at yourself in clothes that you wore 70# ago...so how the hell can you see that NEW you? Go to Target & treat yourself to some new outfits. They are not expensive & they have some cute stuff! My clothing story...I've been banded since the end of March & I'm down ~40#...last week I asked my husband if I looked like I had lost weight & he said "YES! Don't you think so?" I said....NO. After that we decide to go run some errands so I'm looking in my closet & find a pair of shorts that I have not worn for 7 (yes SEVEN) years & guess what...they fit! So I pull them on & a top that I bought recently that was a bit snug....uh it fit too!!! So I come out in my "new" outfit & my husband was beaming. He says "NOW do you believe you have lost weight?" Well, I must say I looked fabu! All it took was something that I had not worn at my highest weight for me to see the new me! So that's my story about putting on some new clothes... So WHAT are you waiting for??? Target has GOT to be open by now...get going, come on. I mean it....run along little pumpkin. And that goes for anyone else who is still wearing fat clothes. -
What I took away from your original post was that you've given them enough for them to assign you a Dr but you didn't want to go to that Dr because he was too far away. Am I right? If so, find a way to get to that Dr. & get it done! There should be a Dr close to you that can do your fills but...come on! If you want this bad enough you can get there & get banded. Nothing worth doing is going to be easy!

Dr Fusco did mine & I'm happy. My husband works at Harris & his insurance paid BUT that 3.7K (plus the co-pays) out of pocket...ouch. I had mine March 24th. Now I'm not has hard working as some of these other girls & I like my wine but still I've lost 39# and I am very pleased. It has not restricted my life like I thought it might.

I'd love to try zumba GY...how much did the tapes cost?
-
Jeni - find your Mom & you a support group for loved ones of addicts. This is not something you should bear & your Mom needs other Moms who have gone thru the same thing. Good luck sweetie.
-
ndnguy85 - what is the sensewear side & where do you wear it? I looked at their site & only saw the arm style. Does anyone have the bugg with the watch thingie? Do you have to wear it all of the time?
-
crzy...so they always come with the sports pack? Is that the one where you can go bowling or play tennis? If so, That would be fun...even though I'm an awful bowler. Now I saw a WII fit bundle for ~149 does that have more than what you get for 89?
-
OK..I've got to ask this. What exactly am I looking for? I've looked for Nintendo WII online but I see these bundles that have sports or games that I don't think I want. Can't I just buy a naked WII & add a WII fit bundle to it? Thanks Elizabeth
