Items ordered from BariatricPal with tasting survey
Napua posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Ordered the meal replacement prior to surgery, variety packets. Strawberry and vanilla did not mix well with attempts of mixing. Chocolate and Mocha tastes good and mix good. Cream of Chicken tasted good. Hot chocolate tasted good. Vegan chicken Curry meal is slightly spicy so I increased liquid before consuming. I will return this item it was too spicy for me. Oatmeal with cinnamon apple is an acquired taste. I am debating if I should return it and get another flavor. Note: I order BariatricPal items to meet protein requirements with low carb and low sugar. -
4 months post op now. XL to small size now. Presently doing strength training. Pass menapause stage that increased weight to severe obesity stage with apnea. I feel healthier and this was my goal from the beginning. I was told one year after surgery for my body to make changes before considering plastic surgery. I take it one day at a time.

I am presently 7 weeks post op. I calculated 5 lbs per week loss thus far. Feeling great, no problem in nutrition due to ordering food from Bariatric Pal. For example the oatmeal cereal packets, I add in a small amount of old fashion oatmeal to it. My nutrition recommended me to increase to 1 cup verses 1/2 cup. Gastric bypass on Aug 28, 2020 with total loss of 37 lbs. Feel good, some straining in the beginning for BM but now it is much better with increase liquid intake of up to 8 cups per day. Meeting all my vitamin and protein intake. I also eat with a baby spoon that helps me control food intake. I use FairLife liquid instead of regular milk for cereal and liquid intake. So much easier with the packets/foods from Bariatric Pal. I do sugar free popsicles as well. No ice cream cause this was one of my down falls prior to surgery. It feels so good to fit in smaller clothing with ease instead of struggling to put it on or off. My husband is proud of me and very supportive. By watching me lose the weight, he is watching his food intake and lost weight with food portion control. Good luck to each of you on your journey.

I had reflex, sleep apnea before surgery and did the bypass. During the surgery the doctor found the hernia and took care of it at the same time on 8/28/20. Doing well as of today with no dumping. -

Doing well. Surgery 8/28/20...Surgery site all healed. No dumping. Order food from Bariatric pal that gives me the small servings. Easy to take packets when traveling to another state for vacationing and to work. Very easy process for me. Doing light weights 2-3x for exercise regime. Spouse cooks his own meals and I eat my bariatricPal packets. No children at home. I feel much, much healthier. Size L to M with no problem. Tops and bottom L sizes are being donated. Shoes fit looser. Take my vitamins daily with no problem. Husband is supportive and loving with this process. Hope you all are doing good as well. -
Sleeve dumping VS Bypass dumping
Napua replied to Kikikiki's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thanks Tek, you too. -
Hope you feel better. Sorry you are experiencing this.

FYI: My husband love to eat on vacation. Told him to enjoy his food. If soup is available I will order soup and he can have my left over soup. At my post op appt. my doctor stated to be sure to chew well and eat moist food. If I do not feel like eating, I will ask for hot water and drink my hot chocolate or Cream of chicken packets from BariatricPal order. Being one month post op, I do not feel like eating but I meet my protein intake with the BariatricPal replacement meals and drinks that I just add water.

Sleeve dumping VS Bypass dumping
Napua replied to Kikikiki's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
FYI: My food intakes are from BariatricPal and thus I have not experienced dumping syndromes as a gastric bypass on Aug. 28, 2020. I make it a point to drink liquid 30 minutes after eating. I went to Crackle barrel and ate the Chicken pot pie and found that I felt over filled with no dumping syndrome. I made sure what I put into my mouth was moist. Anything dry, I avoided as instructed by Dr on my post op one month appt. -

Light entree vegetable chili tasted good and not spicy. Easy to prepare and gives a small portion. Traveling to Utah in October and plan on taking hot chocolate, vegetable chili, cream of chicken so far. -

Mayo Hospital, Dr. Stephen Bowers, over 1000 bariatric surgeries. During my surgery he found a hiatel hernia and repaired it as well. No pain after surgery, some discomfort was noted. Highly recommend this doctor. When searching for a good dr, find out how many surgeries he has done. The more the doctor has done indicates his experience. You want a doctor who had done quit a bit. A doctor may say he can do it, however how many had he or she done? You do not want to be the person they are practicing on.

I had purchased patch vitamins and EZ melt vitamins to meet vitamin requirements. Purchased Propel water at Sam's club, 15g protein, 0 cal, 0 sugar to meet liquid intake to prevent constipation. Purchased from Bariatric pal soups, chocolate drinks, shakes replacements to be sure all protein was met. After surgery on the 28th of August 2020, no pain, some discomfort. Went home the next day after x-ray showing no leakage at Mayo Hospital in Florida. I did walk in place in the hospital to help release excess gas. I did purchase a abdominal binder on Amazon and used it after the surgery. This helped a great deal and Dr said this was a good idea to do this. My goal is BMI 20 or less. Enjoy your healthy journey. Dr. Stephen Bowers did over 1000 gastric bypass surgeries and he was awesome.

Food Before and After Photos

I tried tuna with mayo and boil eggs puree. Added himalayan salt. Tummy handled it. Will try adding other spices in near future and see how my tummy will handle it. My tummy handled kale, spinach, frozen berries, banana, protein liquid. I drank this shake as one of my meal shake replacements. I will thicken it for each step ahead as well. -
