  1. I joke that my dog has become an alert dog...the second I START to feel full, she comes running over and stares at me until I give her the rest of my food. I have lost 70 pounds, she has gained 15 (or 20% of her body weight!)

Not hungry but I want to eat!!

It is so weird how every surgeon has a different program! I have posted my "Diet Bootcamp" several times, because I feel like some doctor's give very little information (or else it isn't absorbed!) I was happy to have something to refer back to...although I will admit, I cheated a bit! Good luck, everyone!

    Bread

I agree, it will get better! Each day, you can eat a little more, find something you like, etc. Bread may not be the best option, but I have had bread, albeit not a lot and not at every meal. Same with alcohol, but again, not nearly as much as pre-surgery, maybe one to two drinks a couple of times per week. I started with a little drink about 6 weeks out.

    Food Before and After Photos

    Definitely trying this!!
  5. Good luck! Down 70 pounds today (Yay!) at about 7 months out. My advice would be to follow your plan, don't panic at stalls (I've had so many) and know that the weight WILL come off!

    Packing for hospital

I didn't stay in a hospital...but I just used my phone, iPad and watched tv for the first few days.

    Pouch reset

I just looked on Pinterest...most resets seem similar to this.
  8. I had my surgery about three hours from my house. I spent one night in a hotel near the surgical center with a nurse in attendance, and drove home the next day. (I didn't actually drive, my son did). I was fine on the road home, I took a pain pill before we left and slept most of the way, The worst was having to get out to go pee at a rest stop, but I lived, and I was VERY happy to be in my own bed for the next two days!

    Mini meal prep

I like it! I used mine to make protein jello shots!

    Protein cereal

This is my favorite, when I'm dying for cereal: I only eat half a serving with Fairlife 1% or FF milk. This was suggested by my nutritionist, so not every day, but acceptable.

    Ooooo...simple and good crockpot recipe

I love this! I have made chicken breasts with just salsa, but black beans and corn would really jazz it up!
  12. As someone who has had three LONG stalls, back to back, I still weigh every day...I just only record the drops below previous recorded weight. Otherwise, it's up 1 pound, down 1 pound, up 2 pounds, down 1 pound (ugh), up 1 pound, down 4 pounds...hit record, 2 pounds down!

My favorite new thing...shrimp cutlet patty!

    Sounds yum!

    WHATS THE BEST PROTEIN POWDER

I would say do not over-invest! I bought every protein powder known to man and recommended on here. You should try and get samples to figure out what you like...not just buy them all willy-nilly! (Like me!). My favorite, though, is Genepro which is pretty much flavorless and can be mised with almost anything (refried beans, SF jello, any recipe) to boost protein. I also use Premier Protein or Fairlife Vanilla pre-mixed in my coffee each morning. Good luck!!

    Sushi

I had sashimi (which I never liked before surgery) about 4 weeks post-op. I ordered the appetizer portion, which was about 3 oz (9 pieces). I was only able to eat 6 at first, but can now eat all of it, plus one eel piece with rice. I am also sensitive to soy, so I use coconut aminos with a lot of wasabi. I'm going to try and make a soy free soy sauce this weekend (using beef bone broth and spices), I hope it works out!!

Can I see some before and after pics?

I'm sad that I didn't take a before picture now!
  17. I've had a Jr Bacon Cheese burger on lettuce from Wendy's. At about 6 months out, that was the perfect amount for me.

    Almost that time

Congratulations! I hope everything heals quickly and pain free!

No BM for 8 days. But TODAY

I know this is the Guy's Room...but watch your Iron intake too...mine was off the charts (I was taking 45mg per day) and it is very constipating.

    Pureed Meats Struggles

Refried beans with a little bit of cheese was one of my go to's. And the infamous Ricotta Bake. I never ONCE pureed meat. YUCK!

    Cereal

I have had this: https://www.target.com/p/special-k-protein-family-size-breakfast-cereal-19oz-kellogg-s/-/A-54444278?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000012732781&CPNG=PLA_Grocery%2BShopping_Local&adgroup=SC_Grocery&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=c&location=9011798&targetid=pla-966916145752&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1248099&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1YjsmJKQ7wIVPvvjBx18OgBKEAYYASABEgKeHfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds With Fairlife 1% milk.

    Day after

I was in the car for 3.5 hours the day after surgery...I don't remember much of it (I took a pain pill before we left), I wasn't happy to be in the car but I mostly slept. The worst was having to get out to use the bathroom...I looked like h*ll, and I'm sure people wondered what was up! But once we got home, I went to my own bed and slept, and felt MUCH better the next day. Good luck!
  23. Maybe look into a "reset" before surgery? This is where you go back to the basic basics for a week or so...liquid, etc. After, (my understanding is) you start feeling the restriction again and have a better chance of continuing down the right path. Good luck!!
  24. Obviously, Zero Carb bread (I didn't love it, but you HAVE to try it to know!) Frozen Avocado Chunks (if you like Avocado in smoothies Probiotic Keto Cookies Bacon and Jalapeno Cheddar Cheese (or is that just me??) Brie/Smoked Oysters (Again...just me?? I have the Brie and Smoked Oysters as a "treat" lunch or dinner with Crunchmaster Protein Crackers that I get at Publix) Grass Fed Ground Beef/Stew Meat/Lamb - the meats are usually organic and surprisingly good! Chicken Sausage Deli meat and cheese
