I finally decided to get Bariatric Surgery this year 2020 when my weight reached a high of 251 after a few months of quarantine during the pandemic. I had been having issues with my weight for years but now that I am older, I have a great deal of trouble with my mobility. Another frightening issue is feeling short of breath after little effort and even when lying down. I have PCOS so the weight issue has been ongoing, I initially decided on Gastric Sleeve but then started to think about bypass to make sure that surgery was successful. I’m now thinking of the sleeve again because I don’t want to have issues with malabsorption. I see my surgeon on 7/14/20 and I will decide that day which procedure is best for me. I’m going to be a grandmother later this year and that is a big reason I decided to go through with the procedure. I want to enjoy my grandchild.
My surgery is scheduled for August 7th 2020. I chose to have Gastric Bypass after all. My program has a very strict two week prep. I can have seven Premier Protein drinks a day, 2 cups of broth, one Sugar free ice pop, and two sugar free jello. No solid food at all for two weeks starting 7/24/20.
