Since my banding I have ate all kinds of meat, steak, chicken, pork etc and nothing at all gets "stuck" on me. But I am still confused, if she can eat as much as she wants with no restriction what is the getting stuck thing??????????
My sister and I were both banded 1 month apart from each other, her in April and me in May. She has had 1 fill of 4cc'c but still has no restrictions. Since her surgery she talks about certain foods getting stuck???? If she has no restriction on the amount of food intake yet then what is she talking about some foods getting stuck like baked chicken for one. I have heard of food getting stuck in the pouch but if she has no restriction yet I can't see that being the reason....has this happened to anyone else with no restriction??? I on the other hand have no restrictions and all foods seem to go down just fine.....unfortunately.....
I go for my first adjustment july 7th and I know the doctor puts 4 cc's but I don't think thats going to be enough only because besides not having any restrictions now nothing is even getting stuck!!!!!!!
oh my goodness I hope mine doesn't end up in my crotch....haha I am just 4 weeks post op and mine sort of sticks out. I am also wondering how far its going to poke out when I lose this weight????
definately walk if possible and if not then make sure you flex and point your feet throughout the day because after any surgery you could develop blood clots so make sure to move your legs even if your in the bed. Don't lift anything to heavy and if you have to cough try to put a pillow against your belly it won't hurt as much.
protein is very important for your body without enough you might notice a reduction in muscle mass.......meaning more flab and also your heart is a muscle. Appearance wise protein is great for hair and nail growth and also promotes great healing for your incisions.
thats what I meant in my first reply....I got banded May 21 and let me tell you I even wonder if there is a band in there.......I know there is but its just like hurry hurry hurry sweet spot even if I can get a 5% restriction I would be happy lol. I again want to thank everyone because believe me this really does help talking to everyone and its like alot of ppl I thought that after surgery that was it but this band hell stage is horrible its like ok my incisions are healed I feel great now lets start this process I'm ready HELP!!!!! lol
I would like to thank everyone for responding you all gave me really good advice. I am well aware that we all are different but I just wanted to get some sort of idea right now I have no cc's and this is a difficult time for me so I just wanted to poll everyone and come up with sort of a "NORM". thanks again and if anyone wants to post here please do thank you
thank you Kalipso for that information it was helpful. On the other hand Riviera what kind of an answer is that I understand that everyone is different I was just trying to find the average and wait you haven't even had your surgery yet so I don't understand how you could possibly answer this question I posted. Stick to what you know now because believe me you don't know anything about the lapband and how it works until after you had the procedure done.
Maybe your comfort zone is somewhere between the 3.2 and 2 cc.. Remember though that as you lose weight on the outside you lose it on the inside as well. So as your body shrinks so does your stomach and when that happens the band gets loose and you need another adjustment maybe that is what happened? I doubt seriously that your band slipped as someone suggested only because I think that would be extremely painful for tear the stitches around the stomach wall that the band is attached to.
