Thanks friend, you’re so right. And I’m prone to depression this time of year (Seasonal Depression due to the darkness, we’re in sunny California, so it’s common!). I have been sticking to the diet since Christmas Eve (when I indulged a little), and I feel better with regards to the guilt. I’ve forgiven myself. It’s ok to make mistakes as long as you learn from them and move on. Much love to you as well.

My hospital is a heart and surgical hospital dedicated to surgeries and care related to the heart. They don’t have Covid patients there, which is why I’m relieved to have my surgery there. I will be tested for Covid on 12/28 (Monday), and will be quarantined until surgery on 12/30 (Wednesday). Then I will be quarantined at home for 2 weeks post-op to ward off any chance of catching Covid. That’s the protocol the hospital told me.

In retrospect, for me, I know I shouldn’t have eaten. I didn’t eat much and ended the day below 1200 calories anyway, but I still feel guilty. I’m allowed to have things like oatmeal and cream of wheat, and soup, too. So at least the bulk of what I had was a puréed vegetable soup (with some spice to it, boy howdy). I’m thankful that my body still dropped 0.4 pounds yesterday. My surgery is in 5 days now, and I’m going to try to be only liquids and protein drinks until surgery, and only eat the semi-liquids if I feel like I’m DYING of hunger (which I shouldn’t get that way, but you know how it is).

I had a little food at my mother-in-law’s today, but it was our only Christmas celebration, but I also had mostly soup. I chewed slowly, and told myself that was the only solids I was going to allow myself to have in this whole liquid diet phase. Doesn’t matter, still feel guilty as all hell. I’m back to liquids already (had a protein shake for dinner), worked out an extra 40 minutes today to make up for it. Back to liquids tomorrow. 6 days until surgery (12/30)!

I’m so sorry, friend. Did they give you any anti nausea? They already gave me some. I’m going to have some bedside and in the kitchen just in case. You poor thing.

Today is day 6 of my liquid diet. Somehow I had a stall from yesterday to today on the weight loss, but I did just start my period a couple of days ago, so probably because of that. Surgery in 9 days!

I know this feel. I want to crunch, too. Day 5 for me over here. Surgery 12/30! Can you do sugar free popsicles? The cold of them right now isn’t satisfying, but the crunch is, and then shortly after I have some warm broth to warm my lip back up. Lol

Day 2 of liquid diet here! Doing good so far! I’m allowed to have cream of wheat, low sugar oatmeal, tomato soup, sugar free popsicles, and sugar free pudding and jello (which I hate the second one lol).

I start my liquid diet tomorrow! I’m really excited. I know that the liquid diet will be tough, but I’m ready to power through.

Got the call today, December 30th! Start my liquid diet on the 16th!

I got my surgery date! 12/30! I start my liquid diet on 12/16! YAY!

Got my insurance approval! Now I’m just waiting for my pre-op appointment. I’m starting liquid diet Saturday instead (I was going to start Monday!). I’d just rather be already going good before my pre-op appointment!

Nothing guaranteed until we hear from my insurance, which was submitted yesterday. I might not know for up to 7-10 business days. So with that in mind, I’m starting my liquid diet on the 14th (Monday) in case I’m having surgery as soon as the 28th (it might be the 30th)!

Hey friend! The test went ok! Apparently I don’t have as much of a hiatal hernia as they thought on the endoscopy! We also discovered my reflux meds are doing their work. Haha

I have my upper GI test today, hopefully by Wednesday we will have results and be submitted to insurance! Here’s fingers crossed I’ll get in this month for my bypass!
