i had those adapex diet pills- NO appetite at all in the beginning, will force you to drink more fluids from the severe, extreme dry mouth. after getting off of them because they spiked my blood pressure i ate RAVENOUSLY. hopefully they will not have the same effect. good luck with those...

my dr gave me lovenox to self inject in the belly area under the navel for 7 days post-op & LOTS of walking immediately afterwards.

i also wonder about who i will be after this. I have spent the past twenty years being a "big sexy" girl. i met a man who adores me as just that. i try every day to get past this and hope that he will love me when i am just "sexy" without that other word. i hate to admit it but there were times when i would get motivated, diet, workout and lose weight then he would sabotage me & tell me how beautiful i was as i am so i would stop and continue to jeapordize my health & life because HE loved it! i have stated MANY times that he is unsupportive of my decision & i know not whether he will be around when my transformation is complete. i suppose i need to make a MENTAL transformation first. at any rate, whatever happens, BOTH you & i will still be the same people---with better health & flatter bellies! good luck to you!

wasnt very true to the pre-op diet, didnt follow the post-op too well til my nutritionist gave me down the road, now trying very hard to break my addiction to food but thru all of that badness (i swear i will do better to get on the good foot) i still lost 21.7lbs with no restriction! i wanna do better so i can make you all proud of me as we take our journey together!!!

the motor city! its great to be in detroit, there is nothing scary about it & everyone should visit MICHIGAN-- its a beautiful state!!

JUST A LITTLE SCARED NOW! first fill friday---thanks, i am a bit more enlightened! will tell all immediately thereafter, i must admit, tho, i think i have a high tolerance for pain as i have several tattoos & piercings & i found them only "annoying", not extremely painful---

i also feel as if i can eat ANYTHING but i get my first fill friday (date was changed at the last minute much to my chagrin!!!)---lets all hope that this changes- i have lost 21lbs since surgery but that stopped two weeks ago. just hanging, trying to make sure i eat less, TRYING not to eat after 7. not depending on the band like a crutch but some days i wish it was a little tighter then perhaps the temptation wouldnt be there!! good luck to everyone...

i've been trying to get that ticker workin for weeks now! i just give up-- EVEN went on 3 different sites thinking maybe the original one wasnt right for my system... must be computer illiterate

i was a self pay, everything was done within TWO WEEKS! i think everyone is MUCH MORE willing to work with you when you have the cash!!! still, my experience was great & i LOVE my dr!!

i think its wonderful that the two of you are gonna do this together! i was banded & asked my unsupportive significant other to do so with me so that we can have a healthy future & a longer life together- he declined!!! enjoy your journey together. can't wait to see pics of that baby!!! good luck---

let me tell u, i wanted to tell NO ONE but i ended up having to tell EVERYONE mostly because my Mom told my 1st grader that i was in the hospital which required an explanation to which she replied "she is having an operation to help her lose some weight!" needless to say, he told everyone at school, his dad told everyone at his job, no secrets or privacy for me! after my initial anger i decided to get over it & roll with it cuz everybody can look at me & see plain as day that i'm fat so who cares if they know i took steps to correct it! dont worry about it, tell the folks in human resources & take the time off. besides, isn't it their job to respect your privacy? if it gets out & you know you didnt tell, sue em!! good luck---

why not try just once a day in the morning? that way you can see if you erred the day before & try to correct that situation. if you constantly get on the scale your weight is inaccurate because of SO MANY different things-water, food you just ate, urination, etc... DONT stress, just try to ween yourself off the scale to MORNINGS only at the same time- try this: after the restroom, before breakfast, before taking meds--- you should be empty & perhaps you may see a # you like!!!

I SWEAR my dr told me no alcohol for six months but anyway i went to a party & had bailys, no prob--of course it was only one drink & kinda tame...

dont feel bad, i have no friends either :smile:! it doesnt bother me one bit tho cuz i can still access the site & get inspiration, advice, support, & lots of good ideas from EVERYONE! if it makes you feel any better, i would be happy to be your friend then WE wont be friendless anymore!:tt2:

so so sorry it isnt working for you!:frown:i get my very first fill next tuesday & just one month out i've lost 25lbs without much restriction--perhaps your dr should be consulted, or at least your nutritionist. good luck for the future BUT before you get your band removed maybe you should give it one more try with a fill & a modified eating plan?:rolleyes2: we can all be success stories!!!:thumbup:

thats a possibility. i agree whole heartedly that she was over the top---i even discussed it with my mom. some people in any religious group can be a bit fanatical! anyway, good luck on your surgery. everything will work out wonderfully!!! if you know its the right thing & you have no doubts who cares what ANYONE else thinks!? keep me posted on your progress...

are u sure she was not a christin scientist? jw's are not against surgery, they believe in drs, some even are drs. i know this cuz my mom is one & has been my whole life. it is strange that she asked u any of those questions, she was being a bit nosy & forward! i can see if u were @ an abortion clinic or something her suggestive remark but otherwise i agree that she was out of line. ignore the remarks of naysayers, unsupportive people, & ESPECIALLY people who know NOTHING about you or your situation!!! ---for the record, even if you were @ an abortion clinic or some place like that NO ONE has the right to force thier own opinion on you & i do not want you to thinjk in any way that i am defending the actions of this lady!

you REALLY calmed my nerves cuz my first fill is in 2 weeks & when i was in the drs office another patient scared me to death talking about his experience... i think if i can handle tattoos, piercings & childbirth a fill should be a walk in the park! hopefully...

have NO problems with it although i read a thread that someone else posted saying the dr told them it was just a memory for them:confused:... just chew carefully/slowly! you should be fine
