No motivation to work out 6 weeks out
Tim C replied to Nanagrrl3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just go do it. You will not be able to do as much yet. I was lifting over an hour before Covid. First time back was 20 minutes...give it a shot but don't try to do too much. Something is better than nothing. -
Sometimes I feel like nothing has even happened

Once you get on real food you will notice the difference. I also was not restricted on those phases or so I felt. When you get to actually eat gain that when you will be able to tell that you are restricted I believe. -
This is definitely in the TMI category. Look away now and don't read this for the faint of heart! My poop since surgery and delivering those twin rocks 8 days later has been almost BLACK! Not brown but black! I understand why the stool has improved and not as it once was when eating carbs. My carbs are really low right now and that results in a better stool. The color is what is killing me. Must be some red dye in the chewable vitamins maybe? So weird!

That is just the thing. I have just added iron back in to my diet and those boogers have been black all along.

You are about 2-3 weeks ahead of me. Have you lost 36 lbs since surgery? -
I think you are going to need them all. Not sure about the D3 but I do take that separately as I was deficient in D

sleeve post op hunger
Tim C replied to amira fakih's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take an anti anxiety pill nd it too will add some weight to ya. You may experience some hunger for a few days but it should pass as the portion of your stomach that was removed had the hunger hormone creates hunger. I am 7 weeks post op and still have no hunger. I eat nd find myself looking in the fridge when not even truly hunger. Just an old habit. Get some SF popsicles. At 15 cals each you can eat 2, 3 4 and not fill guilty. It does not bother me with people eating around me. Once you get to the soft/ semi reg diet it gets better. You have got this...hang in there. -
Congrats!! Having only 4-8 lbs to lose is a good problem!
-
I just added iron back into diet a few days ago so I don't think that is it.
-
Glad it is working for you. My surgeon told me it had failed in a very high % of patients. All have not had revision or removed. For me I am just glad to be rid of the dadgum thing. Congrats on your success and continued weight loss.

Yes this happened to me as well. I was originally scheduled for December 2020 and it got postponed. Got the call on January 25th to reschedule for 2/23. DON"T DO LIKE I DID AND GO CRAZY EATING!! This would be a good time to get used to eating less. Good luck...it will pass by quickly.

I too had a hard time getting back in the gym around the end of week 6. First workout was probably 20 minutes...that was all I had but better than nothing. I was incredibly sore after that first workout. With Covid then surgery it had been year. Back in the gym now! Makes me feel so much better!! -

I saw a video on Youtube about a lady headed to the hospital for surgery. She talked about the need for dry mouth spray. I bought some at CVS. They have Biotene dry mouth and the CVS brand. I was so thankful to have it at the hospital. I would encourage folks to take this with them to the hospital. My mouth was so dry I could barely open it. This spray is good stuff! Less than $10. You can use it later as well. Just a little nugget 😎

I like capsules. The price is incredible for a year. -
That Band is straight from the Gates of Hell I tell ya! I so wish I had gotten that God forsaken thing taken out a long time ago. For anyone that has it and it is still working for you...Congrats! I hated that damn thing. Love the sleeve surgery!

Not hard to hide. Start telling people now that you are on a diet under 1000 calories a day and not drinking any booze if you did before. Life is better after I think...you just eat less which has been easy for me. You will be able to eat smaller portions of many of the things you eat now. and have cocktail at some point. As far as children go...It is much cheaper to have a dog. ...I could have retired years ago without kids LOL!
