Thank you! This is embarrassingly easy to make. I slice the stick style imitation crab, mix with Mayo, sriracha, and sesame oil to taste. Add cucumbers, green onions, avocado, drizzle of no sugar teriyaki sauce, and a sprinkle of furikake. After the picture I ended up adding more cucumber because it tasted so good. It is probably my favorite quick meal.

Tonight’s imitation crab salad, aka deconstructed, spicy California roll. 😋
  4. For about the last 1-2 months I have been suffering from worsening night sweats. Sometimes as many as three times per night I am waking up drenched in sweat. I had a partial hysterectomy about 10 years ago (uterus removed, kept ovaries), so I have no idea what my “cycles” are like. I am 47 years old and 8 months post-op. I am guessing the weight loss has sped up menopause for me, but due to my lack of a uterus, it is really difficult to tell what is going on. I am wondering if the rapid weight loss has launched menopause symptoms for anyone else. I do plan to see my PCP in the next month, but thought I would try to get some words of wisdom from the community. Also, does anyone have a supplement or idea to help with this symptom? It is really disruptive to my sleep. Thanks!

    Night sweats. Menopause? Help!

Thank you so much! I am good on vitamins, as my last labs were great and I am very good about taking my supplements every day. The sweats are awful though. Other than being a bit moody, I am not having any other symptoms of illness, or menopause. Like I said before though, the rapid onset of menopause symptoms and coincidence with weight loss have me wondering if there is a relationship between the two. I will try to get with my PCP pronto. 😊 ps. Just scheduled with her Friday morning.

    Night sweats. Menopause? Help!

Yeah...the onset of symptoms has just been so sudden and dramatic. I am definitely more sharp with my poor husband. The night sweats are brutal though. I am exhausted. 😢😢

  8. Just make sure you have plenty of water/fluids. Very high protein can be hard on the kidneys, so fluids can help prevent issues.

    Bypass saggy skin

I loath my chicken neck/waddle. I will probably end up having some work done on it and my face, but first my body gets some attention. Wearing a face mask actually makes me feel more confident, since it covers the worst of the sagging in my lower face and neck. Still, I wouldn’t trade my improved health and body for less saggy skin. So excited for you, @catwoman7 and @ms.sss! Please keep us posted!

    Got sick

I ate lox early on and puked all night. It tasted good going down, but was less pleasant on the return. I can now easily eat salmon again, which makes me very happy as I grill with cedar plank all the time. Try again in a few months. 🤗

    Body Image Issues

I went through a phase like that too, from about month 3-6. It is much better now at 8 months. Hang in there! 🤗
  12. I lost a total of 45 in the first three months post-op. With the 15 from my pre-op diet I was down 60 pounds at 90 days post-op. It was crazy, but the biggest changes in how I look have happened since then. People literally do not recognize me...even when I tell them who I am. It is bizarre.
  13. I was on two BP meds before surgery. My surgeon had me stop one pre-op and I stopped the other about 3 months post-op. My BP runs 100-110/65-75 with no meds. I also stopped my cholesterol meds around the same time and my labs are great. I was having some bouts of dizziness when standing prior to stopping my BP med, and this is now resolved.

    1st appt but w/ a Nurse Practitioner

I saw my surgeon twice. Once for the initial consultation and day of surgery. My pre- and post-op appointments have all been with the nurse practitioner. She also was assisting with his surgeries, but has recently stopped doing this so she can focus on patients in the office. She is great! I am a nurse and a huge fan of nurse practitioners. They always seem to take more time to talk about whatever is going on. My surgeon is awesome, but I will see his nurse practitioner anytime. 😊

This is the recipe I roughly followed. https://peaceloveandlowcarb.com/chicken-bacon-crock-pot-chowder/ Just in case you need another project on a cold day. 😂😂 A bit of chowder with a small slice of your homemade bread on your porch sounds amazing 🤩 ps. I had a small serving on Sunday night and hubby ate the rest. I would have been sick if I ate more than a quarter of what he put in that last bowl. 😂 that guy can eat!

    Mini melt down

I sooo get this. The lumps and bumps had me feeling irrationally down on myself. I am glad to say, it does get better. It is almost like being a teenager again and going through an awkward stage. Hang in there! 💕

    Food Before and After Photos

On Sunday I made the pork char sui for me (lean protein for the week), and chicken and bacon chowder for the husband (he eats keto). This is the last of the chowder. Not super photogenic, but very yummy and very rich 😋

I “believe” queso fresco is easy to make...perhaps a new project for you???? ps. I like living vicariously through everyone else’s food these days. I would appreciate invitations to dine at cafe @ms.sss and cafe @MarvelGirl25. 😉😉😉
  21. You could try the egg bites from Starbucks. Kind of Breakfasty, but might work. I will occasionally get a bean burrito from Del Taco and eat the “guts” out of it with a couple bites of tortilla. My go to meal on the go is a protein bar. I like Built brand.

    Pre-op Diet and Headache

It is not uncommon to have “flu-like” symptoms as your body goes into ketosis. This typically goes away around day 3-4. Hang in there!

    Food Before and After Photos

I have made it before, pre-WLS. Both hubby and I loved it. I have also eaten the frozen Trader Joe’s version, which is delicious. You just add the egg and cheese. Easy and yummy. I am shocked your fam did not like. Maybe try a different recipe?🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I do not recall what recipe I used or I would share. 🤦🏼‍♀️ ps. Based on your pics, I think the version I made had a lot more peppers.

    Food Before and After Photos

Took @ms.sss’s char sui pork recipe and made it, but with pork tenderloin. I am sure it is better with fatty pork, but it is really yummy! Expect to see it again this week in salad and slaws😬 I cooked it while prepping for a chicken and bacon chowder (not shown). The soup came out awesome, but it is very rich. Hubby is happy with soup for leftovers for the week. 😊 Thank you, ms.sss!
