Tired of waiting for surgery...
WishMeSmaller replied to lizonaplane's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was originally going to have surgery in April 2020 (could have scheduled for March, but April was better for work). Then everything shut down due to COVID and I was postponed until July. It was an extremely depressing time for me, waiting, while the world we know went off the rails. I did not make healthy choices during that time and gained about 10 pounds. Surprisingly, the time flew by and I started my pre-op diet in late June. I lost 15 pounds on my prescribed pre-op diet and had surgery on July 6. Waiting was awful, but the time really does fly. I hope you can find more peace and health while you wait than I did. Just keep your eye on the prize! πππ -
Constipation post op
WishMeSmaller replied to sleeveinthecity's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Everyone has something that works best for them, so you might have to try a few things to find the right thing for you. Fiber supplements are awesome (natural, no drugs) if they work for you. Unfortunately, extra fiber tends to back me up more. I tried everything early on. Now I drink a cup of Smooth Move tea every night before bed. Lots of folks swear by Miralax. Find your thing, and βgoβ with it. πππ -
Increased Joint pain & brusing
WishMeSmaller replied to LAJ23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
See your PCP and get labs done to make sure it is nothing more serious. Many of us have more bruising (I definitely do), but coupled with joint pain, it is worth a visit with your doctor. -

I β€οΈ sunflower seeds! I keep forgetting to buy some, otherwise all of my salads would look just like yours. Apparently I need your sister, too. π -
Yes @Arabesque! Willow to me too! Loved that showπ I honestly didnβt even understand what Husband was trying to accomplish with his original project, but I am hoping we have no major backyard projects for 10 years after this one. It is costing a fortune even with Husband doing the majority of the labor. ππ it is all stuff that NEEDED to happen to correct some issues though. Another sigh π

Weight loss in the first 2 months
WishMeSmaller replied to NJTeacher2772's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
30 pounds plus 15 more from the two week pre-op diet I was on. -
I so wish it were done, but 140β is a lot of fence. Sigh... We have all of the posts in, and most of the framework except no one has some of the parts we need locally so they are on order. My husbandβs small backyard project has turned into a major overhaul (my fault π€¦πΌββοΈπ€¦πΌββοΈ). I just hope it is done before I have plastics in 6 weeks.π€π»π€π»π€π»π€π»

You definitely won The Who Wore it Best! πππ You look amazing π€© I love the green shoes and the new leather jacket looks gorgeous on you. π₯° Thank you for appreciating my pale, old lady legs, @Arabesque! π I just got the compression sleeves yesterday. I have been wearing the knee high stocking socks with compression for many years, but the sleeves will be so much better for running/exercise since I can wear appropriate shoes and socks with them. They feel so good on, but they are like $40 per pair...GASP π±π± I bought two pair to start, so more frequent washing will need happen.

Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first

Being able to help my husband build our new fence. I wouldnβt have been able to help much a year ago. Not sure if this is really a good thing ππ I also love being able to fold into smaller spaces. -

I call it mushroom crack because IT IS SOOOO GOOD! I like to add some seasoning with a bit of Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic, and Aleppo pepper before I bake them. They are not pretty, but I had some out with mushroom loving friends who ate them as quickly as I did. π₯°π₯°π₯° -
OOTD putting up 140β of fence with husband version. π Note my pale, veiny knees/thighs and compression sleeves for my calves. Husband LOVES this look π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£

It sounds good, but alas, I am lazy. So much easier to not bread π Also, I do not eat keto, just husband. The stuff I make for him is generally too rich/fatty for me. This was a good one for both of us to enjoy.π -

Per husbandβs request, a keto take on chicken parmigiana (no breading on chicken). It was delicious with Caesar salad. I had one small chicken breast cutlet with the sauce and cheese, plus some salad. ππ -
I was so bloated with the air and swelling in my abdomen post-op, I looked about 9 months pregnant for about a week. It will get better. Keep walking. Keep sipping protein drinks, water, etc. It will get easier. ππ

I love the new jacket! I think it will be a great contrast to all of your lovely clothes. π

Excess Weight- success or not?
WishMeSmaller replied to Baba Raba's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Interesting! Per a Peterson Method calculator, my ideal weight is 145. For the OP, my stats are 5β8β with starting weight of 264 (before starting pre-op diet, AND my highest weight), so pretty close to your stats. I did have bypass rather than sleeve due to pre-existing GERD. Based on the Peterson Method ideal weight, I have lost 104% of my excess body weight at my current weight of 140. I am a bit over nine months post-op. My weight is not entirely stable yet, so I expect some possible additional loss followed by a bounce back of 10-20 pounds, which I understand is common. -

COVID vaccine and hydration
WishMeSmaller replied to ShoppGirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Take Tylenol for any headaches, body aches or fever after receiving the vaccine. Do the best you can with fluids. Some people breeze through with no symptoms. I hope you are one of them! -
πππ I like all of it! I can totally see you in any of those! The tie dye halter would actually get me to the coveted skankified look, but I am just not ready. You would pull that off in a heartbeat. As for the first one, it is super cute and something I would totally wear. I really need to stop buying clothes though, until I have plastics. Clearly I need to check out Shein though...those pricesπ

Thank you all! @GreenTealael, that dress looks slamming on you! @BayougirlMrsS and @ms.sss apparently I do I have long legs...they were just lost in the fatπππ I had no idea π€·ββοΈ @ms.sss until I get my veins fixed I absolutely refuse to wear miniskirts all the time. After that, we will talk. Lol! Also, I donβt think I am quite ready for the full skankification until after plastics when the extra flabby skin goes bye and I have boobs again. I am hoping for creation of a waist, but I will be satisfied with loss of the spare tire of loose skin and creation of perky boobs. I may never wear a bra again. Just you wait...skankified Wish coming your way. ππ

Somewhere along the line I promised a miniskirt. Here goes... ps. I am still waiting to get the severe varicose veins on my right leg (left too, but not as bad) corrected. My vascular surgeon is pretty backed up right now for scheduling. Calling them again tomorrow. I have developed more phlebitis and it is soooo painful. Trying to hide it in the photo, because π₯΄π§

From one four-butt to another π€£: I had a pretty good fat-girl butt, but now it is some muscle (I do weight train, run, walk, etc.) with folds of flabby skin. The folds get caught under my tailbone and are so uncomfortable. Underwear provides the four-butt look. I continue to work on muscle back there, but I am scheduled for a lower body lift at the end of May. I am hoping the extra skin and associated flab will be gone and he can find some fat to supplement whatever shape I will have left. I suspect time alone would help with the skin, but otherwise, exercise and plastic surgery are probably the only way to correct the issue. Good luck to your extra butt-ed self! π¬ππ

And just in case anyone is wondering... ps. Lentils are delicious! Signed: Legume Lover π₯° -
Dress arrived in the mail today. Is this the unicorn? π¦ I donβt think I would wear this until after plastics in late May as it shows the loose skin on my tummy and upper hips...think spare tire of loose skin. I would like to dedicate this post to @ms.sss π
