    6 months post-op...reset to goal

Thank you for the kind words, guys. I am still feeling pretty emotional about MiL. 😢 It is surreal. She was almost 89 years old, and she had been ready to die for about 5 years due to horrible arthritis in her back (took no meds for it, stating nothing worked). We will miss her, but we are so glad there is an end to her suffering. I hate that it was COVID that finally took her out, but she literally had no health problems except the arthritis and some early dementia, and took no medications. She walked everyday, so we thought a fall or something random like being hit by a car would be her end. Thank you all for reading my ramble. It is therapeutic to think and talk about her. She appeared to be on the road to recovery from COVID when she suddenly went into respiratory distress and her lungs filled with fluid. Still shocked at how this disease works. It is an ugly beast. Wishing you and your families good health! ❤️
  6. Today is my 6 month surgiversary! I was really hoping to hit my 100 pounds of weight loss and a BMI less than 25 by today, but I have been slacking a bit on tracking my food and the carbs have definitely been up. On Monday I decided to get back on track and focus on food, tracking everything I was putting in my mouth and focusing on protein. My 6 month labs show I am still a bit protein deficient and iron deficient. My surgeon’s office had given me the go ahead to not take iron, due to my constipation, but looking at my labs I need it. My plan went sideways on Monday night, when my Mother-in-law suddenly died from COVID. Thankfully, due to the hubs and me being nurses, we were able to be with her when she passed. Yesterday I gave myself grace and used food for comfort. Today is a new day, and so my reset to focusing on diet starts today, my six month surgiversary. Time to lose that last 20-ish pounds! Plastic Surgery Countdown is on!

So excited for you guys! And also a teeny bit jelly. 🙄 I have named my loose belly skin with underlying fat layer, Gertrude. While I am literally very attached to her, I will not be unhappy when she goes! 🤣

    Week 2 Tips

Sometimes those cravings are really deficiencies. Your body may have been needing some extra sodium (not uncommon early on in ketosis). Great tips! 💕

Sort of a chicken cheesesteak vibe, stuffed bell pepper. Chicken breast, onions, green pepper, mushrooms and cheese. As usual, I ate the whole thing 🙄😋

    Abnormal EKGs, septal infarct

The Cardiologist will probably want to get an echocardiogram, to determine if there is any damage to the heart muscle and how well your heart is doing at pumping blood. I don’t know your age, but by your picture you do look very young to have this show up. The Cardiologist will probably also be looking for any underlying heart conditions, which may have caused an infarct. I hope everything goes smoothly for you! 💕
  17. Thanks! I lost 15 pounds on the two week liquid pre-op diet. I actually lost about 15-18 pounds each month for the first four months. My weight loss started to slow month 4-5 and has been very slow the last couple of weeks. I think it is normal for weight loss to slow as we get close to goal, but I’m not going to lie...it is annoying. My immediate goal is 164, which will be a normal BMI, and 100 pounds lost. So close! BTW, I chose bypass due to pre-existing GERD. Good luck to you!
  18. I am almost 6 months out, and I don’t appear to be a “dumper” as I have eaten sugar and fatty foods. With that said, I have not tried any fried foods other than a couple of my husband’s French fries twice. I feel crappy (not dumping) if I eat too much sugar, so a very small portion of sweets is all I will do, if I am going to indulge. Same goes with high fat foods. I generally don’t eat much bread (former bread-aholic), but have had very small pieces of pizza twice. The couple of times I have had a sandwich, I take one or two bites with bread and the just eat the stuff inside. I feel like I can eat anything, but just need to watch the portions and listen to my body.

    Weight Loss vs Measurements

Sounds like a measurement issue, as I am sure you have lost many inches all over. Is someone helping you with your measurements? If not, it might be helpful to have assistance and another set of eyes for consistency. If there is no one to help you, you could look into a smart measure tape like this one. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B082W886W9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have not tried a smart measure tape, but the idea makes sense to me. My hubby has helped me with measurements from before and after. Congratulations and good luck! 😊

Please let’s not talk about the boobs getting any smaller🤣 I am hoping for back fat and upper abdominal fat to go away...please let me stay in my unrealistic bubble as long as possible😊 I don’t want to be a rectangle forever, but PS is probably my only hope. 🙄🙄 I am 5’8”, so pretty tall. I don’t do super high heels, as I am legitimately clumsy. Still haven’t decided for sure on the jumpsuit, but probably🤷‍♀️ thanks! 💕
  21. I have a protein shake everyday. I tried the Unjury, and the taste literally makes me gag. Right now, I usually have the Syntrax Nectar Cappuccino flavor (it is caffeine free) every morning for breakfast. Since my plan allows coffee/caffeine, I mix it with some coffee concentrate, Fairlife 1% milk, and water. It gives me 30 grams in one go, and tastes good. I also sometimes have all or part of a Built protein bar during the day as a snack, or lunch on the go. The whole thing provides another 17-19 grams of protein. The Built bars are really good, if you have not tried them. For lunch and dinner, I follow the protein first rule and have no problem getting my >60 grams per day (usually around 80 grams), thanks to the protein shake for breakfast. I was having more hair loss, but it got better when I started getting adequate protein. It really is that important. Getting the protein might help get your stall to un-stall. For the period issue, rapid weight loss can really mess with your hormones. Things will probably go back to normal in another few months. Check in with your doctor next time you see them. Good luck! 😊
  22. Are you pinching up a fold of skin with underlying fat? If not, that is the best technique for people with less fat/loose skin. There are plenty of pics and videos online if you google it. I am a nurse and have given lots of these subcutaneous injections to very low BMI, older people, with loose skin. It just takes a bit more time to find a spot where you can pinch up enough fat. Reviewing with your doctor is a great idea. Good luck!

Jumpsuit. It is too small through the chest right now, so I have to leave the buttons open at the top. The bottom half fits though, so I would not size up. Sister approved, but not sure if I should keep it or not. Opinions?

I really like the black jumpsuit on you. The straps show off your nice shoulders! 😍Pants are fun! They look soft and pretty. Agree with the kid on the jumpsuit. 🤣 I have also been on the hunt for a jumpsuit. So far, hubby has vetoed one and approved one. A third one, I could not get it over my shoulders without going up to a size which would have been a tent below the shoulders.🙄 My sister is coming today, so I will get her opinion this weekend and decide whether to keep the hubby approved one or send it back. Since I am still losing weight, it needs pretty high marks as I will probably shrink out of it. I will try to share a photo soon, regardless, since it passed the hubby approval stage. He is very opinionated! I do what I want, but do value his opinion...sometimes 😂 @BayougirlMrsS, agree with everyone else...you looking smoking hot in the green dress! 😍😍
