Food Before and After Photos
WishMeSmaller replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Inspired by @Kris77, I also made filets for dinner. Best filet I have ever made! ๐ Hubby ate all of his (the big one), and I ate about half of mine (sliced portion plated). I had about 1/3 of a baked potato, and some asparagus. As usual, I ate everything on my plate. I was super hungry after 2.5 hours of workout today ๐ -
Hahaha! Me too! At 47, if I wear 4โ heels once a year, it is a lot ๐ Love the ballet pic! ๐

Lol ๐ Mom is shorter than me, but she is wearing 4โ heels. I was a nervous wreck watching her walk๐คฃ๐คฃ

Last night went out for dinner for Momโs 77th birthday. From left to right, my husband, me, Mom, Momโs husband. Doesnโt Mom look great? ๐ Looking at this pic, my coated โjeansโ look a little big. They are a size 6. ๐คทโโ๏ธ It is hard to see, but my jacket is a faux suede moto in hunter green. I โค๏ธ it. We had a really great time. ๐๐ฅฐ

Noooooooo๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ Foiled by a lack of an Aldi again. I saw Kirkland instead of Kirkwood for the brand. This breaks my breaded chicken loving heart ๐๐๐ -
I do not take iron, so I take all my vitamins in the morning, on an empty stomach. It seems like whenever I take them with food in my pouch I get nauseous ๐คทโโ๏ธ

Real story...the first time I had a calcium chew after surgery (about 1-2 weeks post-op), I ate it after a meal. I puked...for 6 hours. With stomach cramps. And misery. ๐คข๐คฎ๐ฅด I have my calcium in the morning now, on an empty stomach. ๐

I NEED these breaded chicken breasts in my life. Unfortunately, I just went to Costco yesterday, so it is going to be a minute. Is it as yummy as it looks? I also need slaw. Been craving slaw, but hubby gets tummy troubles with cabbage, so I donโt make it very often. I never thought of pineapple juice to sweeten the coleslaw. Next time! -
I woke up in agonizing pain, moaning and writhing. It felt like my stomach was spasming. It hurt so much I peed myself, which I did not realize until my pain was under control. The nurse gave me some pain medication (I did not ask what she gave me), via IV and my pain went away. I had virtually no pain after that, although I did take pain meds for a couple of days, mostly out of fear of the horrible pain returning. I cannot imagine having that initial pain treatment not work. I am also a nurse and work in a clinic where we have medication assisted therapy with suboxone. It is unfortunate more hospital and surgical center nurses are not familiar with the medication (former hospital nurse here), and how to treat pain for persons taking suboxone. We should be advocating for you while you are in our care, but it is difficult to do if you donโt understand how a medication works. Congrats on all of your healthy lifestyle changes!

Chapstick/lip balm, iPad, phone, charger, pajama bottoms to wear under my hospital gown for walking. I wore the same clothes home that I arrived in. Above is what I used.

3rd Wk post-op overdone it walking too fast
WishMeSmaller replied to RhondaHigdon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since surgery, when I overdo it, I feel terrible. Like shaky and nauseated, along with the soreness. Make sure you drink plenty of water for the next few days, and get plenty of protein to aid with healing. Do protein shakes if nothing else will go down. Early on after surgery, I did have some heartburn. If it persists, be sure to discuss with your surgeon. Take care ๐ -
Protein & Vitamins
WishMeSmaller replied to ElPasoSleeveGal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Iโm not sure yet, as I do not physically have them yet. I am going to compare the label to my Bariatric Advantage, and take them accordingly. I only take one Bariatric Advantage per day, so hopefully just 1-2 per day. ๐ -
Protein & Vitamins
WishMeSmaller replied to ElPasoSleeveGal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I take bariatric advantage multivitamin now, but I am going to switch to Flintstones chewables when they are gone. I also take bariatric advantage calcium chews in the fruit flavors, but think I am going to switch that to something cheaper as well. I get my B12 at Trader Joeโs and my D3 from Costco. I was deficient in D prior to surgery and have been taking it for years. I like the Syntrax Nectar product and drink the cappuccino flavor most mornings. Some of the flavors seem to dissolve better than others for some reason ๐คทโโ๏ธ I have the lemonade, but it takes forever to dissolve completely(chunky), even in my shaker bottles. The cappuccino flavor dissolves quickly. Try the sample pack to see what you like. I have the lemon ice tea ordered now along with more of my beloved cappuccino flavor. ps. I do not take iron or probiotics. -
Dill pickle juice should be fine, but no sweet pickle juice. Your body might need a bit of extra sodium (thus the craving) right now. The liquid diet typically throws you into ketosis and you tend to lose fluid (pee a lot). The sodium might help a bit. good luck!

1 month post-op, kinda skimpy WL
WishMeSmaller replied to Suzi_the_Q's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I lost 15 pounds on my two week pre-op diet. I lost 15 pounds my first month post-op. Then another 15 the second month. And another 15 each, months 3 & 4. Slowed down to around 10 after that. I was also disappointed with my weight loss that first month, but boy did it add up quick. I am a bit shy of 7 months post-op and a bit shy of my first goal weight. Just stick with the plan, and be kind to yourself! ๐ -
Thighs after weight loss
WishMeSmaller replied to brwneyedgrl96's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lolololol...if I had *it* I would for sure be wearing booty shorts, but alas, between the pale skin, varicose veins, and saggy inner thighs, I will do everyone a favor and take a hard pass ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ thanks for the compliment, @ms.sss! I canโt tell when I look at pics, and the weight loss is soooo slow lately. I want PS now, but know it will be better if I wait a minute. Body dysmorphia is really bad lately, and all I see is the flaws๐๐ -
Thighs after weight loss
WishMeSmaller replied to brwneyedgrl96's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost 7 months out and down over 100 pounds. I have exercised a lot since surgery, including lots of strength training. I have pockets of loose skin and underlying fat at the top of my inner thigh. I think my legs look pretty good overall, other than severe varicose veins I am working on addressing with a vascular surgeon now. I think I will be comfortable in shorts this summer, as long as they cover that saggy, inner, upper thigh, so probably 5โ or more inseam shorts for me. I am also fairly tall and 47 years old, so I do not feel the need to wear super short shorts or skirts. And my skin is very pale, which is hard on the eyes ๐ I do plan to have plastics within the next year or so, and definitely want at least an extended TT, if not full lower body lift, which I know will help my inner and outer thighs. -
I lost nothing during week one. You get a bunch of fluids in the hospital and you body tends to be in shock after surgery. 6 pounds week two is awesome. Donโt stress. The weight will come off if you stick with the plan. ๐

Thank you! I am in love with them. They are Toms and are waterproof. They are my footwear for this week as we are currently getting snow with multiple storms rolling through this week. ๐

Exactly! I am not in love, but will certainly use the Carbquick as needed. I am happy to have it in my pantry, and hubby is very happy to have access to biscuits and whatever else I make with it. Thinking biscuit topping for casseroles, dumplings, pizza crust, etc. -

My version of Carbquick cheddar bay biscuits. They are decent. My hubby is eating low carb right now, and he loved them.๐
