Pre surgery diet freak out
MISTY_CEE035 replied to Jsteelecat's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Another thing that I did do was buy some low sodium broth (beef or chicken) and boil Broccoli which is a vegetable that is low in calories and you can remain within 1000 calories. I will boil it real good until it is fork soft and add a tbspn of mustard for flavor. I enjoyed that for dinner. So during the day I did premier protein shakes and then for dinner I did the soup. I drank water, tea, coffee, and gatorade too -
Pre surgery diet freak out
MISTY_CEE035 replied to Jsteelecat's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hello Great Question: How I dealt with the pre op liquid diet was a challenge at the moment that I weighed 305lbs. The first 3 days are the hardest and then your stomach begins to accept that you are doing something different with your eating habits. How did I avoid the hunger? I would go to sleep early and find things to distract me. Look at the bright side, soon you will be going to surgery and your health will improve. That was my driving force. You can do it. What day are you today? May I recommend the Caramel Premier Protein and Vanilla are real good. I can live off them. -

Hello Thanks for sharing your challenges. What you are going through is normal. I can relate during the beginning stages but it will get better. But for now, do your best to drink something. Make sure you have water by your side at all times because you do not want to dehydrate. I know that food does not taste good right now and it is normal. Trust me, you will get better. How many weeks Post Op are you? Missy Cee -

Hello Carbs are in many different foods, fruits and veggies. It is about eating them with moderation. I try to eat more green leaf veggies that do not have many calories and low in carbs. I can provide a list of them if you would like

Thank you for the birthday wishes and my weight loss journey.

I agree. I would love to meet someone and built a relationship together but I most importantly want to focus on myself and meet my goal. I feel that dating will not allow me to keep my focus as I am now. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

It has been a challenge getting back into the swing of things. I learned that food is the main source in any social gathering. Unfortunately i was unable to keep it to myself being that i have various restrictions and they became displeased with time. How is dating for you? I agree with the fact that carbs slows down your weight loss. Its important to include some exercise on a weekly basis. I try to go to the gym 3 x a week for 45mins. I donot eat red meat. I do eat fish, chicken, veggies and fruits. But i try to stay away from veggies with high calories

Good Morning, Dumping can come from many different angles but the body feelings you experience (speaking for myself because everyone is different)- I get the shakes, then I sweat and then I am on the toilet for more than 2 times in less than an hour just letting it out. I get mad at myself for .5 seconds because I should have known better and then I make a cup of green tea with some mint leaves and it helps me alot. I hope that my description helps you assess what dumping feels like. Missy

Hi Do not feel guilty about anything you did. You tomorrow to fix it. That is my motto. Everyday must be treated individually. -
Hello I am sorry but unfortunately speaking from my experiences I can eat minimal carbs. When my son buys a sandwich and my eyes wants some I ask him to give me the butt of the bread so that I can enjoy a little bit and avoid running to the bathroom to purge.

Hello My name is Missy and I have been on my journey since 2009. I started with the Lapband procedure which I spent the longest amount of time from 2009 through 2015. After experiencing an erosion of my stomach in 2015 the band had to be removed and in 2016 my surgeon conducted a revision which is the Gastric Bypass. I was extremely happy at one point in my life because I began to lose weight again. Unfortunately 6 years later I am facing a slow weight loss phase in my life and I am trying to fight from getting where I once was. If anyone is experiencing any of these complications, please share and together we can overcome some of these challenges so that we can remain at our weight or improve our health.
