  1. @maybemeow - how are you feeling? You’re almost a week out now right?
  2. @maybemeow!! How are you? Thinking about you :) how are you feeling?
  3. Question - what does your pre-op diet look like? Duration? Guidelines? Based on what weight / BMI?
  4. You got this @maybemeow! Sending you good vibes and praying for a perfect procedure and speedy recovery :)
  5. Have you tried hot chicken broth? Helps me a ton.
  6. Ah - here’s a study re: patch vitamins by NIH, not super promising https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11695-019-04070-5
  7. I’ve seen all of mini me in Tennessee’s videos too! Lol. I bought some of the patches and will try them, but honestly I don’t know that I’ll take the risk of them not working. They have great reviews, but I mostly for people saying they like having a patch option, Not necessarily commenting on their effectiveness , like “my blood work is great, I been taking these patches vs oral vitamins”. So I haven’t decided the plan yet. We’ll see what the nutritionist says. Im very concerned about my hair and skin, which I was surprised to hear was a common concern. I have a lot of hair, it’s “the one thing I got”; but I learned that many folk with weight struggles feel like that. I also don’t want to have artificial sweeteners because that can trigger sugar cravings and also make me gag, so the thought of doing that for a long time isn’t awesome for me. I have yet to find unflavored vitamins that aren’t in pill form.

  9. These are great points @MaybeMeow. Thanks for being a reminder of good outcomes even through struggles.
  10. @MaybeMeow we are more twinsie than previously discovered. lol. Yes - the runs indeed. Have you and anyone else heard of vitamins through a patch? Anyone have documented success with those? (ie - bloodwork shows they are working?)
  11. +1 on the protein drinks from the doc. I couldn’t take down one sip because it was crazy sweet. Gag reflex sweet. Ordered some unflavored powder and switched to premier protein (which is gross but manageable).
  12. That gave me comfort and hope. Thank you ❤️
  13. @MaybeMeow, @Lily66 thank you. I needed to hear this. Thanks so much for listening. I remember going through the behavioral consult and telling the therapist that this is clearly something I have to do on my own. And there's a part of me that resents that a bit; as I'm the one who always rushes to help. But I needed to be reminded that only I can do this work. and new me means new me. Get through this healthy. On the positive side - I got all my appointments scheduled today, liquid diet ordered, supplements ordered, work cleared.
  14. Curious - does anyone have an apathetic spouse? Mine has done zero research, zero attempts to understand what's going on or how things will change, nothing. Today his question was "listen before your surgery, I want to sit down and go over things so I don't I have to worry about them" and then he went on to explain he was thinking about getting a new car and a new roof. I cannot tell you how heartbreaking that was to me. Is anyone else going it alone? What are you doing to get through?
  15. @MaybeMeow this! So much this. My surgery got moved up a week and is supposed to be 6/19. I am so nervous. I started this process in January. I was gung-ho on getting healthy, started orange theory and thought I’d lose a bunch of weight before the surgery so that I’d have an easier time. Then my back issues started coming back... and then lockdown from covid and anxiety hit the roof. Instead of losing weight, I’ve gained 15lbs waiting for the surgery. I thought I had 4 more weeks to get back on track but it looks like I’m starting the liquid diet on Friday. I’m 5’2”, 230 lbs now. I thought I’d have more time. Food funerals have been frequent and I’ve been eating more - a ton more even for me. I’ve also kept this process to myself with just my spouse in the know. And I can’t believe I just wrote that.
