I have 3 boys aged 6, 4, and 21 months. I have tried as often as possible to avoid lifting them, but the little one needs to go in and out of his crib and the tub and car seats. The older ones I explained everything to and for the most part they are being good about it, not jumping and climbing on me anymore, being more careful about hugs. The littler guy is a bit trickier and like I said there are times when I just have to do it. In those cases I try to brace myself as best as I can and keep it short so I don't strain anything too badly.

Nike also has a workout app and as of right now the premium content is free. I'm not sure for how long, but there are a lot of different workouts available on it.

Glad to make this Wise decision
maslman replied to GladdenWise's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Sorry to hear about the previous troubles. I almost had that happen to me. The day before my surgery was scheduled it still hadn't been approved, but the office staff at my surgeon's office got CIGNA to escalate the case and managed to get it approved in time. Good luck with your surgery! -
Isopure drinks - good or bad?
maslman replied to LAJ23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay, yes sorry those aren't the ones I got so disregard my advice lol. I checked and what I had bought was Dymatize ISO100. -
Anyone for September 2020?
maslman replied to vsg_britt_091420's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No constipation for me so far fortunately. I was on liquids for the first week, protein shakes after day 3. And was given the go ahead for soft / pureed on day 8 so I've been kind of mixing a few soft things in with my shakes and liquids to ease in. I'm doing chewable vitamins and I have found at least for my morning set I need to get something else in my stomach or else I feel sick. Best of luck to you all. -
Isopure drinks - good or bad?
maslman replied to LAJ23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you are talking about the Iso100 Clear drinks I have been using them. I don't particularly enjoy the taste though. To me they are sickeningly sweet, but I drink on anyway because I need to get the protein in. Of course I don't mind powders, but everyone is different. If there is a way for you to maybe try one or two first and then get more if you don't mind them I would do that. I got a variety pack thinking I'd pick my favorite flavor, but I really don't see myself getting more of them. -
Getting cold feet- VSG Pre-Op
maslman replied to LandoLivie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was conflicted as well, but in the end I did this because I have small kids and I want to be around for them as long as possible. I didn't have too many health problems yet, but the only way things were headed was worse so I pulled myself together and did it. And I know I've very early in the process but so far I don't have any regrets. -
I had 5. This was later in the day on the day of my surgery (9/16). No pain except for a few times when I overdid it walking / moving around. Sent from my Pixel 3a using BariatricPal mobile app

Anyone for September 2020?
maslman replied to vsg_britt_091420's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For the most part its a desk job. The only tricky part is that a decent amount of the time I'm in an area where food / drinks aren't allowed so I will need to take frequent breaks to go drink something. I'm about 3 hours in so far though and no major problems yet. -

Yeah sleep is a biggie now. Being a week out I haven't had much of a chance to nap with 3 kids at home, but I have been going to bed earlier so I can get a good nights rest. I'm also back in the office today so we'll see how that goes. -

Good luck tomorrow. -
I'm 3 days out from mine. I have some incision pain when I overdo it, but overall things have been good. I did notice this morning that I'm starting to feel more tired, but I'm sure that will pass as everything adjusts. Sent from my Pixel 3a using BariatricPal mobile app

If you have been good up to this point I don't think that 22g of carbs will do any lasting damage. Just keep on with your plan and you should be fine. -
I was prescribed gabapentin for the day before my surgery. Apparently it has been shown that when taken pre-op that it can reduce the need for opioid pain relief post-op.

Got my final medical clearance yesterday and my last consult is this Thursday. The 16th is getting closer and closer. -
I'm looking for a new one myself. I used to swear by Eat The Bear, but last year they unexpectedly closed up shop and disappeared with everyone's money. You can still find it on Amazon and Walmart.com, but by now it's got to be getting kind of old since they aren't making it anymore.

The hospital I'm going to be at allows 1 guest per room between noon and 8pm. But honestly with 3 kids at home I don't expect my wife to visit that much anyway. Her parents will help I'm sure, but lets be honest hospitals are boring lol.
