Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Freckles replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Sheree, maybe its the potatoe hunny, sometimes I find that I cant eat mash at all. As long as you're chewing for England it cant be that, it could be that you're eating too fast like you suggest, try slowing down a bit and see if it helps. It is a learning curve, and each one of us is different. -

My weight loss was very slow initially, I thought the band was not going to work for me. But have faith girlies, it will. Since I've been back (since sunday) I have put on a few pounds!!! gawd knows what thats all about, but I know it will come off again so I dont worry anymore. We met a lovely Mum and her daughter while we were in Belgium, the Mum had been banded 6 years earlier and had lost 9 stone!!! She was so slim she looked great, and she was a lovely person, we had such a chuckle together. Her daughter was 19 and wasnt much overweight, but felt it was spoiling her life and wanted to lose a few stones, which she just couldnt lose. Hats off to her I say, why not enjoy your youth if losing weight will make you feel better about yourself. We stayed at the hospital for the 12 hours whilst our daughters were banded, and I must say it was great to have someone there to go and have a coffee and smoke with, and enjoy chatting. It really made the day/evening go fast. Our daughters were in beds next to each other and enjoyed the company. Chris Deprez came to the hotel the night before the surgery and he is so lovely, he had given me a fill once in Manchester and he was so kind. So dont be scared girls, all is great in belgium. I'm so glad I went with my daughter. -

Sorry I havent been around, been too busy with one thing and another, and so tired too. I could hardly eat when we went to belgium, dont know if it was the flight or what. I foolishly ate a little sandwich on the flight which I had made myself, no crusts. When we got off I thought I was going to throw up and had to walk around, for the feeling to pass. My daughter is delighted with her op, her scars are tiny, and I think that may have been that her tummy was so flat after the Liposuction, so dr chris didnt have loads of fat in the way lol, like when I had mine done. One of her incisions was done almost in her belly button, so doesnt even show. She didnt have any gas pain, and feels good. In fact she was wondering what all the fuss was about, with some of the ladies. but its obviously different for each person, some people have a lower pain threshold than others, and nobody knows how another person feels. The only fault I had with the staff in the hospital was lack of feedback. I put that down to the language barrier, apart from that they were all superb. I had to ask Dr Chris how my daughter was, as she was still in recovery when he came to the ward to see the 2 other girls, he didnt offer to tell me until I asked. But all in all, the package was marvellous, I wish I had known about this before I was banded in the Bupa. -
Hi Jane,
it was my pleasure, I didnt give you much though. So glad you're trying to eat a bit more, that was scarey, the little turn.
I have been starving since I got back, I think it was the flight tightened my band even though it was only a short one.
Just to let you know that these messages are on full view in my profile. if you would like to talk privately send me a private message. Anyway hope you will post on here chick. take care, speak soon. I'll send you a pm now..xxxx

Just a quickie, daughter is fine, just has a bad chest due to drugs, and she doesnt even smoke!!! but apart from that she says it doesnt feel any worse than when she had Liposuction on her tummy painwise. Was at the hospital yesterday for 12 hours cos she didnt go down for op until 3:30, as doc was running late. Then they keep you in recovery for 3 to 4 hours afterwards. Didnt get back to the hotel until 7:45. Crashed out and went to sleep early. just getting ready to go to the hospital, she will be coming out just after lunch. Lovely to meet you Amazed, you looked good. Will post again asap, and read all your posts girlies. xx:thumbup: -

Amazed, wot u like, off for a walk indeed, dont you overdo it or you wont be going back home on Friday. So glad you feel good though. My surgeon told me to get plenty of rest, but not to lie in bed all day he said just potter about, no lifting or doing anything strenuous, and it put me in good stead. these docs know what they're talking about so take heed ladies. Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow hunny. -

I understand where you're coming from sweetie, my grandaughter is 14 months and I always want to pick her up and cuddle her, they are so cute at that age, and she is your baby of course you want to cuddle her, just try it sitting on the floor or in an armchair, so as to take the strain off your poor old tummy. Oh dear Lillie, I wasnt banded by Dr Chris, but I should imagine the mushies are much the same. I ate everything I could mush up, I spose if you have a liquidiser you can eat anything you want, I think I ate just what I fancied, dont think I had scrambled egg, but some people do. Some people bought baby food cos its mushy. I dont know what to say really apart from, mash, with cheese (I mean Smash not proper potatoes) I made a lot of Soups with lots of veg and chicken in them and made them tasty by adding Knorr stock cubes and cheese, makes lovely tasty soup. Weetabix and smooth porridge, jelly and custard, you could liquidise some tinned/fresh fruit too. Hope your pains ease off soon girlies, nothing worse is there. -

Thanx Slinx, thats put my mind at rest, just gotta make sure everythings good before I flit off to the hotel, and of course to see if she needs anything. I know I just dozed all day, and all through the night too, kept taking my damn blood pressure and temperature, didnt let me sleep too much once I got out of the chair and back into bed. But maybe thats just the Bupa? -

Thanx girlies for the valuable information, I will certainly make sure she gets the dressings. Lilliebo I will be online hopefully while I'm in Belgium, so will keep you posted . Sheree, I was craving mash too, I bought Smash and made it really thin with loads of butter and salt. I think I also had some chocolate too cos it just melts in your mouth. I felt that I needed to be pampered after the op, even though I didnt feel bad I wanted to be spoilt. -

I am so excited for you all, getting banded was one of the finer things in my life, like i have said over and over, I would do it all again if I had to. Thanx for the info about the shops Lilliebo and the hospital ticket thing. Thats why they werent so forthcoming with the paracetamol, cos as you know too much can cause problems. Anyway glad its now over for you and hopefully Dylan's too. I thought I could stay at the hospital until my daughter was safely out of the theatre? Never mind this visiting lark, or is that for later on? I would wait outside the hospital if they kicked me out lol. Slinx forgot to respond to you asking what I drink lol....I drink lots of stuff, but I do like Scotch, cept it makes me snore dont think my daughter will appreciate that so I had better stick to voddy and coke. -

Been meaning to say, my band holds 9ml and I only have 5.25ml in atm and am at my sweet spot. So that shows you how different we all are. Needless to say I have spent a damn fortune on fills getting here, it was either too tight or not tight enough. I had my last fill in July, and had the ole reflux for a long time, thank God its now passed. -

Amazed, good luck for Wednesday hunny. You'll prolly be staying in your room when you come out of the hospital, what day do you leave Belgium? We dont get there until about 7pm, but if I get a chance I'll look you up. If you're in the foyer/bar area? Watch out for us arriving, I am tall and blondish, my daughter is short and dark lol, and I'm old and scrawny looking. Thanx for noticing that I'm nearly at goal, so happy, its something that I would do over and over if I had to, the best friend I've ever had, my sweet band.
