Oh Fatpants you poor thing. Sweetie I really feel for you, but you will improve, are you taking your vits and anti-inflammatory tabs? My surgeon prescribed Lansoprazole, strawberry flavour that dissolve on the tongue, I also asked my GP to prescribe them when I ran out. I also take a couple of Arinca tabs ( From Holland & Barrat, or any healthfood store) a day. I'm sure these have helped me, cos I didnt get hardly any bed rest cos of visiting the hospital to see my Mum almost as soon as I got back from my own surgery. I still have some pain from my port area and the incision just above my tummy button, which my daughter says is the band around my stomach??? And i was banded just over 4 weeks ago. I do hope you feel better soon xxx.

Good luck with the meal, just keep going to the loo and get rid of some food if it gets too much, I know it sounds dreadful, but thats what my daughter does, and then goes back to the table and starts again lol, she is a case:lol: I did try that myself too and guess what it works. I read this last night hunny and meant to reply, but after todays episode I remember it well. The only way I can relieve it is to either force a PB or go outside and do some deep breathing, but that takes longer. A friend of my daughter used to always keep fizzy pop in the house and if it ever happened to her, she would have a drink of the pop and up the excess food would come. Btw this girl has now had her band removed because she was losing so much weight that her hair was falling out, and her gp told her that she must. I am not sure of all the details, but hopefuly will find out asap. The last time I saw her was 12 months ago when she had gone from a size 20 to a 12, and she was going for a fill.

After saying all of that about the bread, today I cant eat it, I tried a few mouthfuls, and then I got that awful tightness in my chest and thought I was going to throw up, in fact it feels stuck in my throat. The only way I know of to relieve this is to force a pb. Sorry to be so graphic, but it needed saying for all you new bandsters. I didnt have this feeling with my first band before I had a fill, so this one must be working for me....yay!!!! God i am such a greedy pig:blink:

Maybe its a good thing, I also love bread, garlic and otherwise, atm I can manage it, but I know later, after fills, I wont be able to. Shoes, we dont care whether you're English Irish or whatever, you are part of our great thread and we luvs ya. Hi Shoes, welcome back, I missed you. i noticed you were on the Irish section last week, and was wondering if you'd have time to call in. OMG!!! You have done so well, almost 2 stone and not even had a fill, you are good, well done chick. I could never eat bread with my first band after having fills, but could manage a bit of crusty roll if i nibbled it and took forever to eat it. But that was it, ordinary bread was taboo. Whatever you're doing carry on, its working for you. xx

EDIT: umm I was only doing one vice, drinking and just chatting to a young fella who was making me laff. Is that the 2nd vice? His wife was behind him keeping an eye on him lol. As if, I'm old enough to be his ma. a grope, nah, he was very careful which way his hand was as his lovely wife is next to him with the dark hair, my friend Lisa. But if you look at the woman on the end he has his hand around her and she is holding it. me and Lisa walked in on them snogging that night!!!! but Lisa doesnt care cos she wants rid of him:blink: He's 12 years older than her, but he's never been her type, dont know why they ever got married...damn shame for both of them.:crying: btw thanx for the compliment about great gran:laugh:

Sammy and BigBones, I am just the same, starving and not got much restriction and I'm over 4 weeks out. I dont think many of us get much restriction before our first fill, so I wouldnt worry about it. In fact I am making the most of it. Also it changes from day to day, and if you went back on liquid for a few days you may find that the band tightens. But like i said, once you start getting fills you wont be able to tolerate lots of stuff. So dont be thinking something is wrong!!!!

Cant weight, I'm sure your family are only concerned for your welfare, a lot of people get really confused about Lapbands and think they are gastric Bypasses. I think a lot of bad press has made people scared of this surgery, so dont be too hard on your family, I'm sure they love you and are just scared for you, as too must be your Gran xx

sweetie the sweetspot is when you no longer feel hungry and can only eat say a few mouthfuls at any meal, thats when the weight falls off. Does anyone of you older bandsters have anything to say about this, or are we all neweys? I know Flirty has had her band for a while, what do you think hunnybunch?

Wishful, I asked rachel the size of her band and she says it holds 10mls. When she went for a fill with me at Manchester x-ray, he took 1 ml out because he said it was too full. She hasnt had one since and thats almost 12months ago, so she found her sweet spot.

brilliant!!! I say if you can afford it, then go for it, cos if you dont take care of yourself, nobody else will. I want a facelift and himself wont let me:crying: Sarah and Ray are in Thailand until Saturday and she went to a posh place and had eyeliner tattooed on her eyelids, she said it was very painful though and she had botox in her forehead, all for £140. How cheap is that!!!! I hope to be going to visit them in Oz and will stop over a few days in Bankok and get as much as I can done I've been to Hong Kong and Sydney 4 years ago, but this will be different...so not buying any new clothes as I have loads that are still too tight. Then I can save like mad.

Bless her mmm, little girls are so cute arent they. This one will be my 7th grandchild, I also have 3 great grandaughters....I was a child bride you see lol, my son and his partner had 3 girls and 2 of them have daughters of their own.

Thanx Flirty, but i have about 4/ 5 stone to lose, I think. yes Rachel was going to have a tummy tuck and a boob uplift before she found out she was pregnant. She'll be doing it after the birth. I did get a mail saying you added me, just check and see if it worked chick xx
