Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Freckles replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Gillian my daughter and also her friend just phoned the hospital and they had a nurse on hand in the Spire to do defills if need be. I'm sure if that happened you would have to phone your fill person and ask them if they could remove some for you, in their experience they knew in a couple of hours they were overfilled. I flew home with Rachel's friend from Southampton and she had a large plastic cup full at the end of the hour flight back to Manchester. Dont worry too much, just ask next time you go if they have an emergency service/phone number in case of an overfill. If you worry about it, your band will tighten up anyway. My Mum has a hacking cough, and is not yet been given anything for it. I'm pretty certain its a chest infection from whats coming up, but they have sent some off to the lab after I showed the staff nurse. Now they are 'growing' it and waiting to see what antibiotics to give her...Ffs sake!! The matron of the home says if she does have a chest inf. then we will have to wait for her course of pills to finish, because it could develop into pneumonia. I really dont know what to think now, I told them last week she had a sore throat, and they didnt do anything about it. I bought some Oraldine and gargled her throat a few times for her, but it needed doing every few hours. It just never stops does it.:smile2: -

Thank you Gillian, i hope so too. I have phoned the nursing home where she goes when I go on holiday, and asked if they would put her name on the waiting list as if she does need to go in then she wont be put somewhere she doesnt know. She loves the staff at this one and they love her too. They told me someone will be going to the hospital tomorrow to assess her. I dont know if its the constant stress or all the chasing out to the shops and hospital visiting is getting to me, but my tum is so sore, I'm not sure if i could stand the needle for a fill atm. Will have to wait and see how it feels then. Overfills are dreadful my daughter and her friend both had it, they both ( on different occasions) had to back and get a de-fill, and I can tell you they were both very frightened. It is better to take it slow girls, dont be too hasty and get the band to work for you.:smile2: -

Thank you people for the good wishes about my Mum. I took her some balloons and a cake in this afternoon, no flowers are allowed, and she has loads of sweets, chocs and everything else, so stuck really what to get her. Gilian I hope your restriction is there for keeps hun. You may not need your fill in 2 weeks. I used to find if i got stressed or agitated my band tightened like mad. Just for future reference. -

My appointment is 1pm hunny, so I think I'll still be around if its as busy as it was went you were there last. No my Mum may never be able to come home they are talking about her being put into a residential care home now, because she needs 24 hour care. She has Dimensia and cant remember me telling her (every day) that if she doesnt try to walk she wont be coming home. She quite often refuses physiotherapy so cant even walk yet and this is 5 weeks post op. They are still dopes in the ward, I have to point things out to them all the time. She has developed a hacking productive cough and I told the staff nurse, on Monday (because they hadnt noticed this) and last night she asked me to get a sample so she could get it analysed.:seeya: I am worried to death about her. I want her moved to our local hospital so I can go in more often and encourage her to eat and drink, as the staff are too busy at this hospital to do that. But its going to take forever. I have a meeting with the consultant tomorrow. bet you wished you hadnt asked now eh. -

No wonder I'm sore, I just watched a video of an eroded band being removed The reason i looked was to find out what an eroded band looked like, cos MVDB told me that the tubing had eroded and there was a hole in it. Yikes. To think I have been through that twice, wasnt too bad actually, it was the removal of the faulty one that is causing me pain I think. Oh blinkin eck Garry, you wont see me cos I'm 1pm....you'll be long gone when i get there unless you're hanging around waiting for us chicks to get there:w00t: Which is not a bad thing btw:laugh: -

WOW!!!! Over 4 stone in 6 months, you have done so well Carrie, absolutely fantastic.!!! You must be very proud of yourself. And what a bonus, your mum being able to do your fills, excellent. Wishful, what a shame, i may wait for you, do you want me to? I may not even go in on time, or are they pretty fast, sort of in and out? hey Flirty drawers we all have a social life you know, just cos me is an old git, i still like to dress up and go out :cool2: Seriously though, if you're on the pull its so much easier if you're all skin and bone, these days, what happened to nicely rounded women like years ago. these models all look like boys dont they. -

Probably Gillian, though it does still stick out a bit, nothing like it was or like Garry's, so its just taking longer for the swelling to go down. I have had a reply from Chris Deprez and he has made me an appointment for 9th April in Manchester with Frederik. Is he the same Frederik that works with Dr CDB? -

As far as i know Gillian, Michael is Dutch, but he qualified in Belgium. No hunny he took the whole lot out cos part of the deal with the manufacturer for the free band was to have the faulty one returned to them. So I have a smaller one this time, I think maybe my last one was too big, because MVDB said he had 3 for me, and he would put in the most suitable, which ended up the small one. See...me is only slim...... MDVB prescribed Lansoprazole (zoton) which , amongst other things is for the treatment of inflammation of the oesophagitis. They are strawberry flavour and you just dissolve them on your tongue. They are similar to Diclofenac, as in, they are an anti-inflammatory. I am still taking one each morning whereas with Diclofenac, you have to take 3 a day. But the same principal Gillian. -

Poor Garry I hope you find somewhere for a fill soon I cant get into Southampton until 30th April so may as well wait until 7th May in Manchester. My port still feels very tender though, so maybe I should wait. I only know of the manchester Xray and i wouldnt use them out of principal, is there anywhere else, does anyone know? I may feel more like going in April, next week. -

Oh Garry what a damn pain to have to go all the way back to Belgium, but needs must. Good luck sweetheart, hope all goes well for you. I have a dilemma myself now. Michael VDB has mailed me to say he hasnt got a clinic in manchester until 7th May. So do I fork out about £50/60 in petrol and drive there and back or do I go somewhere else...just dont know what to do. I have 2 fills included in my package and Michael said he would do them both at Manchester. But i will still have those even if I get the first one done somewhere else. What do you girlies think?
