Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Freckles replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Thanx Garry, was having a senior moment lol. I think I had about 5 fills with the first band before it was tight enough, but like has been said we're all different. Today mine is pretty loose again. Damned annoying!!! Gillian, I know its an old thread, but did you read what they were saying about mushy stuff like mash and ice cream? They more or less said that it slips right through the band into your big tum, so you can eat a lot. We are sposed to try eat other stuff and chew it like mad so it doesnt get stuck and stays in our pouch for longer and fills us up with a little bit. What do you think about that? Seems to make sense to me really. But I dont understand, if you chew it like mad wont it slip through like the mush? Just wanted someone else's opinion. -

I have been reading old posts in this thread.... http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f9/share-ideas-what-did-you-eat-today-36828/ and I think they are talking some good sense, about the mushy food thing. Makes me think I was doing it wrong last time. What do you think? -

@ Bigsis, nice one. Poor Gillian. And poor Wishfull, is it the plug connection I wonder....ours did that a while ago and we had to take it in for repair, it turned out to be the powerpack plug was damaged, so we had to fork out £45 for a new powerpack. How does she feel Gillian do you know? My restriction isnt so good as yesterday now, I hope to God my tubings ok. Got to go now, gonna talk to daughter in Oz on msn. later kids xxxx -

Thanx Garry, every filler says different things. The Manchester X-ray used to tell me to stay on liquids for 24hours, I cant remember what Mvdb told me. I dont have as much restriction this morning ...damn!!!! I hope freddy didnt pierce my tubing on the first go, cos he thought he was in the port and he wasnt, he had to take the needle back out and start again. That would be all I needed. Doesnt bear thinking about. -

Not so sure about that Garry, cos I feel a bit hungry, when my last band worked, I wasnt hungry very much....I just hope it stays like this, and doesnt slacken off, cos I'll be gutted. Well at least you are being good and staying on your liquids. Freddy didnt even tell me what to eat! maybe he thought I should know eh lol. How long do I stay on liquids for 2 days? And is it back on mush then? -

Hi everyone, I did a detour and went to the hospital to visit my Mum on the way back from Manchester. I met Sammy and Wishful, it was lovely. Wishful, did you get a good fill? Sammy and I were both booked for 1pm, but she was there before me so it was only fair that she went in first. She was a little nervous but everything went fine she said and when I was called in Sammy was going then. She has a beautiful baby boy called Harrison, he is absolutely gorgeous, and loves the ladies already I was in for ages because Freddy boy (bit dishy aint he ) couldnt find my port for a while, he said I had a lot of scar tissue, with having the other band...but he found it in the end. He put the usual 3ml in and I am struggling to drink, is this normal, never had that with my last band!!! I hope it stays like this, I will be falling down grids I'll be that thin It was nice to see 2 (faces that I didnt know, but did) if you get my drift. Hope you have a lovely time in the South of France Mmm. I didnt see Garry btw, but didnt expect to cos he was going in the morning. I did ask the receptionist but she couldnt remember a Scottish bloke. -

Forgot to say I have put on 2 lbs since I had my op, so am hoping that he gives me a good fill, cos paying £90 for a couple of drops of saline is not on I know its cos of the no smoking, and I can eat anything and everything now. Bring on the fills. -

Oh poor you Mandy, doesnt your GP know you have feelings he/she sounds very insensitive, if you could afford to pay for the op in the UK you prolly wouldnt have asked for NHS funding in the first place, what a plonka. And how much money are you saving the NHS paying for the op yourself??? The band I had originally cost in between £1500 and £2000, dont know what this new one cost. Then there's the 2 doctors fees. Ignore the GP, you will be fine, you wont need any aftercare from them. I wonder what exactly they mean by that anyway:blink: Its not as if you're expecting free fills from the NHS is it...duh, I feel sorry for you Mandy, most of our GPs have been very supportive, but i spose there's always one. That part about the UK doctors, most of them are foreign anyway I know mine is lol. -

Ah thanx Mandy, I love the cuteness of them. Big sis, I think my bmi was about 35 last time I had the op, and the only thing I was told that may stop anyone losing weight fast was if they were a grazer, and guess what, thats me
