Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Freckles replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Well I'm sorry hun, but even if they lose it the "natural way" they will put it back on the "natural way" too and more. We have all tried every diet and food fad over the years to know that nothing works in the long term, except surgery. Saying that..... atm I'm reading that Jon Gabriel book, the guy who shed loads of weight without dieting or surgery and has no loose skin. -

I may be wrong but I thought you could only check in online if you didnt have any hold luggage (no suitcase). Mmm what a great idea naming our bands....I will give this some thought. -

Great news HC, you wont be sorry hunny. Tin that GP is not the nicest of docs is he, in fact I would be inclined not to give him my business and change doctors...nasty man. There's just no need to act that way, if we were all dead rich we wouldnt have to go abroad for surgery, silly silly man. -

Thanx for the pm Sammy. Poor Harrison, babys do wriggle so dont they. I bet he cried eh. I hope it doesnt turn into a black eye, but I'm sure it wont. Hey Flirtydrawers, poor Garry is getting all hot and bothered, no good for his blood pressure. lol -
I take it you dont have a printer or else you could copy and paste and then print. Like someone else has said, go elsewhere for your fills, seems like that surgeon of yours doesnt want to give you the aftercare which is essential. He is not doing himself any favours, because that is very poor and the word will soon get about. Good luck hun.

Hey Sammy, glad you're back girl, you do get around dontcha. yes I think I am in the same boat as you, been dying for you to get back to exchange stories. The first night was horrendous, I kept waking every hour choking. I have learnt my lesson now, dont drink anything before retiring. How is Harrison, hope he's better. Glad you still have your secret btw lol. Have you lost more weight hunny? How small do they make everything...damn idiots, you're not very big, so how would a really large person go on...they make me sick, catering only for the skinnies. -

Sorry to butt in, but I have the new band by Allergan. I had my first fill in April (surgeon was away) and my second one on 9th May then a third fill 5 days later. I have so much restriction its untrue. Excellent... and have lost 4 kilos since last thursday. Good luck everyone, get those fills done as fast as possible. -
I know I'm not part of your group, but really felt I should reply. You poor thing, dont blame yourself, you have done nothing wrong. Like the other sweeties have said you havent had enough fills yet. I had my first fill after 6 weeks cos my surgeon was on holiday, so i went somewhere else, I had to pay, but i didnt care. Then I had my second fill on 9th may and then i had another 5 days later. man....I couldnt sleep that night, kept choking on the milk I had drunk. here we are 5 days later and I still can only take tiny portions, and have lost 4kilos. So go for it hunny, get those fills booked now!

Wishfull, wonderful news!! Thats 3 of us so far. Thanx about my restriction Penny, only one problem, I have some meds that I need to take every day, and they stick like mad, even if I cut them or if I crush them they taste is vile. But we're getting along fine, me and my band..... I absolutely love it to bits. Garry you are a star helping all the newbies out, so very kind to us all too, bless. Flirty, you poor thing being so poorly after your surgery, you have had it tough. xxx -

My bad, i had a drink the second night I was home, to numb the pain you know, purely medicinal lol. If you can take it, enjoy it. Did anyone say you couldnt have alcohol? My surgeon didnt tell me not to, so I thought I need one and I'm having one. atm I am struggling trying to get an alcoholic drink down, but i am persevering -

Ok, now its my turn, has anyone experienced this? I had the fill with freddy boy on thursday and still I cant drink so good, at anytime of the day, mornings being the worst. I have been up for a couple of hours and usually I have drunk two mugs of coffee by now. But I managed an Actimel and I am sipping Prune juice ( for regularity, seems to have stopped:blink:) I spose if nothings going in...well I'm not even going there.:rolleyes2: But my coffee is still sitting on my desk, gone cold. I thought by now it would have eased a little, but no, I am so tight, never been like this before, has anyone else? I spose this is what I wanted from day one, I'm not complaining, just amazed!!! -

Great news DevonP...will be here before you know it. I dont think anyone can say what the weekly average weightloss will be. Everyone is different. Look at me I was banded for the second time on 26th feb and havent lost any weight cos I gave up smoking and was eating for England before my fills. I think at last I am over it. Its 12 weeks now, and i can even sit in a room with my Mum smoking her ciggy without wanting one. Some people drop a stone or two a couple of weeks after surgery. it then depends on how much restriction you get with your fills. You may be one of the lucky ones and only need a couple of fills, there again you may be like others and need 6 or more. But sweetie, you can be sure of one thing, if you have the op and enough fills to give you good restriction you will definitely lose loads of weight.:rolleyes2: -

Jackie, I did Lighter Life when my first band was working as I wanted a quick fix. I dont think I had enough restriction, how silly am I ...but if you arent told you dont know. I wasnt really hungry, just missed the chewing of the food, with it being liquid. Why dont you try the pre-op diet of low fat and no alcohol (dont know if you drink or not) The milk thistle like has been said is to shrink your liver and cleanse it. I keep forgetting to say to Flirty, my daughter who is in Oz, is a size 12, and she had lipo on her stomach cos she couldnt get it flat. She went to Belgium, not Dr Chris though. I wouldnt recommend it really as she has a flat stomach now but seems to have put weight on around her thighs, weird. She says the fat moved lol, although we have a piccy of the fat removed, so they did take it out. I have a friend that also had lipo on her stomach, bum and thighs. I'll ask her if she would recommend it if you want me to. She went to Marbella for hers. I still cant get much down and I'm starving lol:w00t: -

I have eaten today three quarters of a skinless sausage and 3 crackerbreads with Philly on. That was brekky and lunch. Still cant get soup down, how strange is that. Found out how not to have acid reflux at night......do not drink for at least 2 hours before sleep time. -

DevonPilgrim.... you poor thing, we were all scared hunny, but you're asleep you dont know anything about the op, and afterwards the pain is bearable, you get painkillers and before that I'm sure they give you morphine, as you wouldnt be able to stand the pain of surgery at first . So talk to us, we have all been in that position and some of us still are, a few here are waiting to be banded. We will help you through it xx -

Ahh Odgey, you do sound like you're not phased by the op at all. Good job eh!!! Thanx for your support Flirty and Garry...did I miss anyone, sorry if I did. I got up about 10am and havent had coffee yet and its 1pm, I know it wont stay down. But!!! get this I tried an oxo in hot water and I have drunk half a mug. I know what you're saying Garry, but I sat myself down this morning and gave myself a good telling off. This is what I have wanted for so long. I have read on different forums that its the norm for some people to not be able to drink until the afternoon, and these are people who's weight is dropping off. So I decided not to care or worry and not to drink anything thick, like the banana milk just before bedtime. My scales tells me that I have dropped 3kilos since yesterday, it cant be fat its gotta be water hasnt it!!. For as long as i can tolerate it, I'm going to stick it out. I think it will loosen up over the next few days anyway. This will kick start my weight loss. -

Morning girlies and doods, well I was awake most of the night, waking up choking and then pb'ing, banana milk. But by 3 am, it no longer tasted like it, it was dreadful...sour. Am very tight this morning still, so have got some Diclofenic Suppositories, MVDB told me to use if I felt over=filled. I used one about 3ish this morning, now I dont remember if it helped or not, cos i was so tired by that time, so will try another in a few moments. -

Of course not flirty, they will all be very reputable, but Mmm is correct in everything she says. I think you need to research each surgeon, go onto the main Spire site and they give you a list of what surgeons do what. Just find out who is the best and like Mmm says different hospitals (even though they are all Spire) charge different prices. I was told that the nearer south you go, the cheaper it becomes, because of the easy crossing to France, belgium etc, who are offering the same but cheaper. Well that was the case when the Euro was better. I am going to bed soon, struggling with banana milk now, and i dont want to feel hungry, cos I do a bit and tummys rumbling. BTW glad its all over for you Podge xxx See you tomorrow girlies... -

Flirty I was banded twice in the Spire Southampton, they are exceptional hospitals. The care is second to none, worth every penny. They were previously called Bupa, all that has changed is the name. -

Well Flirtydrawers, glad you had a good time I so wish I could have been there with you, could do with a good drink:tt2: Brilliant that everyone is ok after their surgery. Glad you ladies have your dates for ops too. Time will fly by. I went to manchester for my fill with Freddy boy today, he is eye candy aint he, bless, so nice as well. He couldnt believe my daughter was 6 months pregnant, she has only put on 6lbs in weight and the hospital say the baby is developing normally. However she wanted a de-fill cos she's now feeling hungry all the time and she cant eat much of anything. hence the big weight loss she's had. freddy told her she should really have most of the saline out, just to leave 1ml in, so that the baby gets everything she needs. Rachel only wanted 1 or 2 ml out and then she agreed with freddy . He took out 7mls. Now her fella cant get her out of the kitchen He very kindly put 1ml in for me. he said I should be ok with that, I now have 5.5ml in my band which holds between 9 and 11mls. Actually I could only manage half a chicken cup a Soup when I came home, and then just now I opened a tin of tomato soup but could only drink a quarter of it. Bring it on...... this is more like it:thumbup: -
