Well done Flirty, I just dont know how you have done it on your own, you are bloody great!!!! I would be worried though, cos I didnt have any restriction and then had the contrast study which proved the band was leaking. Wouldnt you consider that? You paid a lot of money out for your band and so many fills! How many mls have you supposedly got in now girl? Poor Mmm, well at least you didnt put any on sweetie. I am down another kilo today, but only just so not gonna change my ticker in case i'm back up tomorrow. I just cant eat, today i have eaten 1 crackerbread with Clover on for brek, 2 cbreads with a thin slice of cheddar on them and for tea I ate 3 c breads, 2 with Philly and 1 with marmite. i dont feel starving but if I could manage something I would eat it, but at this time of night I wouldnt risk it, as it will be coming up when I am trying to sleep. I love this band!!!!!!!! -

Good luck to Anita and girlies going for their bands in the next couple of days, we'll be thinking of you all. Sammy, I feel so rude for not texting you back, but I am exhausted, I will do it today. had a phone call this morning from the hospital again to say Mum was taken back to Warrington Hospital because she was shaking and was unresponsive. Persoanlly i think she's had a TIA, 5 hours on and she still hasnt been seen by a doctor as they are very busy, but she is now responsive thank God. I've been phoning every hour, I think they're sick of me, but I couldnt face sitting in the hospital for God knows how many hours again. Its like 1 step forward and 2 steps back. I have been hospital visiting almost every day since i had my band implanted. Its been a nightmare, I dont know how much longer i can go on. Sorry if i seem to be wallowing in self-pity, I just feel so low atm. -

Thanx Flirtydrawers for that info, OMG £13000, you must be a rich kid!!! You will be like a model when you're done. Mmm, have missed you very much, my Mum is ok, they are controlling the internal bleed, thanx for your kindness. They wanted her to have a hysterectomy and i refused, no way would I let her go through so much pain at 94. They are monitoring her blood count and she will have to have transfusions every few weeks, and she is on hormone tabs, but I wouldnt tell her for the world what is wrong with her. Poor old sausage, she's working hard with her physio so she can come home to me. -

Girlies, from past experience the band is strange, it varies from day to day just what you can eat. Shoes, if you have restriction now, dont bother going for another fill before you fly to NYC, because believe me your band will tighten up on the flight. I'm so excited for you, I went there 2 months after I had my first band implanted and i'd only had 2 fills, I couldnt eat a damn thing whilst in new York. The fabulous Chinese takeaways in the shops were so yummy and i couldnt eat any of it. We went to a great Chinese restaurant in Chinatown and i was outside sort of pbing cos I couldnt face going into the loo, was dreadful. I wasnt very good with my band, I didnt know what to do, just had this rice that I needed to be rid of, and I didnt know how. And i was like that for the whole week. My friend ate for England lol. When i got home I had lost almost a stone. Where are you staying? We stayed in the Pennsylvania Hotel opposite Madison Square Garden. -

Dont think like that sweetheart, or you'll never get anything done. You'll be fine and be beautiful, cant wait to see you in all your glory. xxxx I must have missed where you're getting this done and how much it cost you, I'm soooo jealous. -

Hi Shoes, yes I had my fill on Thursday, but I went to Michael VDB, my surgeon cos it was in with the package (I got 2 free ones). I have an Allergan small band holds between 9 and 11 mls. This was my 4th fill, I have 6 and a half mls in now. I know what you mean that you should notice with drinking that you have had a fill. Maybe you could mail Freddy boy and tell him you still dont have good restriction, and remind him about some coming back out. I have never heard of that happening. But I suppose it can happen, yet that doesnt seem fair that you have paid for a fill and didnt get it. You have lost a good bit of weight so far though, you were banded after me and have lost a lot more. Somethings working for you chick. xx -

I was pretty scared last night girl I can tell you, I really thought I'd have to go for a de-fill. Thanx so much Sammy and Wishfull, I will look out for them. I'll also ask if I'm in Asda first, cos me and Steve looked for them with the crackers and just couldnt see them. Atm I am eating marmite rice cakes, they seem to be going down ok. What I can normally eat (did today too) is crackerbreads, much easier than Ryvita to go down hun. -

Oh I feel so much better today, and have had a few sips of coffee too. Eventually last night I thought I would try to lay on my tummy and after about 5 minutes I had to run to the bathroom where I vomited for England, sorry to be so graphic. But what a relief it was, I slept like a baby afterwards. Homecare, I couldnt have sucked on an ice lolly, I couldnt even swallow my own saliva, but thank you for trying to help me sweetheart. I just wanted to share this episode with you all, this is one of the reasons the docs dont like to put too much in at any one time. -

Thanx Garry I know thats right, happens to me too. But I tried to go to sleep at 11pm and its now 12:45 and I cant sleep, feels like I'm choking, I have tried sitting up with pillows, but my port is sore and my chest feels raw. I cant swallow my own saliva now, but I will have to suffer. I have used 2 of those anit-inflammatory suppositories too. I am so tired, lets hope I'll feel better tomorrow, cos I feel really rough. -

Was just reading through other posts, and I notice that quite a few of you have experienced the same thing. Maybe this will spur on my weight loss. They weighed me today at the Spire and I am 1 kilo heavier than when I had my first band implanted, and I didnt even do a pre-op diet, didnt have time it was arranged so fast. How quickly the damn fat piles on doesnt it, doesnt seem to come off as fast though, well, for me that is. I think its cos of my old age and lack of exercise. -

Oh God, woe is me, I had a 1ml fill today in Southampton, ate the tiny bit of yougurt they give you and drank the cup of water all was fine. It had taken us from 7:30 am until 11:30am to drive from ours, I had a half of a corned beef and tomato (skin removed and crusts cut from Danish loaf) sandwich and 2 bites of a Walls snack pork pie, then I ate a 4 finger Kit Kat, over the 4 hours. Bad I know but it was a last supper thing again !!! Michael put in 1 ml, and I seemed fine, but hubby decided that we would take the pretty way home, A roads, and a B road, which was so narrow that 2 cars couldnt pass. He drives fast and I kept asking him to slow down, but he said its fine I'm within the speed limit. Unfortunately with the stress I think my band has tightened, cos I can only manage ice cubes or a tiny sip of water. I feel like when you need to PB, as if some food is stuck, which I know it cant be, as its now almost 9pm. Has anyone else felt like this before? I now have 6 and a half mls in my band which holds between 9 and 11. -
how to take care of your band

maestrita would you be kind enough to point me in the correct direction to find I am in the UK and have the new Allergan band, but I didnt receive any 'instructions/recommendations' from the surgeon. Unless you mean the first few weeks after surgery, because I did receive those. Many thanx in anticipation. -

My daughter suffered with an acid reflux, for months and she didnt do anything about it. Needless to say the weight fell off. I know its horrible cos I was like that when I had my 3rd fill, I thought I was going to choke every night as soon as I layed down, its a scarey feeling Anita. I dont think its the same feeling you get when you need to PB Garry, from my experience anyway :tongue2: Sammy had it after a fill too, it is quite normal apparently. Now can anyone tell me exactly what they can eat atm, the peeps who are losing weight rapidly, cos I dont/cant eat a meal at all even if its on a tea plate. The most I ate yesterday was 3 crackerbreads with a slice of cheddar and slice of tomato on, that was my main meal, but my weight loss is so slow even with the smoking. -

Thank you all my dear friends for all your kind words. Gillian you have got it sorted kid, well done you!! As you lose weight the band loosens which is why you need more fills, thats what I've been told. I am very slow losing, driving me nutz...I am sorry to say I am smoking again, simply because I have no will power and the weight was so damn slow coming off. But I am watching that I dont creep back up to too many a day, like before. Sammy ...brilliant that you have lost weight and have been on hols, just shows that you thought you were scoffing and you werent lol.:tongue2: -

Thanx Wishfull and Annie, they dont think my Mum will be coming back home, they say she needs 24 hour care, but I think they're wrong, I think she will walk again with the aid of a 'zimmer'. I've got 5 and a half in my band and it holds between 9 and 11, and its a small one lol. Its so weird isnt it, when you are tight, liquids dont go down well, yet I found I could eat a few things. I hope you didnt put too much on while you were on hols Sammy, and more importantly did you have a nice time? -

Sorry once again I havent been around, Mum is in hospital again!! She's had a couple of blood tranfusions and seems a lot better. I am going to Southampton for another fill on Thursday, my last free one. I hope he puts at least 1 ml in for me. Hope all you girlies and guys are doing ok and still losing? xx -

WELCOME BACK Homecare and Timeisnow!!!! So glad its all over for you. xxx -
Thank you for your kind words. I think this time its working. I didnt lose anything until my 3rd fill though, and I think it was mainly because I gave up smoking. normally i would have put weight on. needless to say I have started again, and have now started to lose. I know I'm silly, but I cant pay all that money out not to lose weight. btw are you a girl or a guy? you're a great weight. I am 5ft 7ins, and 20 years ago (after 4kids) weighed 10stone....dont now though...but hope to again soon.
