Clara well done you girl!!! You have lost as much as I have but in such a short time. Great news. Jackie, poor you hunny, you have my sympathy, I know what its like when the damn band (well symptoms of) keep you awake. We learn from our bands every single day. -

I thought I'd share these pics of the new baby's nursery, she will be born on wednesday 26th August. I hope the scans are correct lol. I think Rachel and Matthew have done a wonderful job on their spare room. I have had 4 babies and was never as lucky to have the money or time to spend on a beautiful nursery like theirs, fit for a princess isnt it lol. -

Thanx Anita, I was always so regular, its gotta be the lack of food hasnt it? This has been ongoing for over 5 weeks, maybe its time to get a scan of my bowels. I have to pluck up courage to see my GP, and arrange a scan at the Spire, with my private healthcare, cos there has gotta be a big waiting list for this stuff, on the NHS. Hubby says its my imagination, but i know its not. I will pluck up the courage soon. -

No they dont have iron in them Anita, but they do have Folic Acid, is that as bad? They're Berocca, the same as the Spire gave me when I had the op. -

Carrie dont worry about me hun, I'm ok. I had the last fill on 2nd july, only by 1ml. I now have 6.5mls in my band and it holds between 9 and 11 mls, so nowhere near capacity. I was given a card when I got my band implanted and it says on it...'This person can only eat small amounts of food at a time, half a cup or 3 to 4 ounces.' I think I'm at that level. Today I ate the yolks of 2 eggs ( I posted this earlier) 2 cream crackers. Lunch time i ate 2 more crackers and teatime I had 2 mouthfuls of chicken with cheese in breadcrumbs, and 3 teaspoons of cauliflower, mashed with gravy. I just could not get anymore down. -

Just a thought Allan, if you were doing good with 6mls in, why did you have another 2 put in? seems drastic, maybe 1 more ml would have done it. I was like you for the first night after having my last fill, couldnt even swallow my own saliva, and its still tight now, but I'm losing it, so I am trying to deal with it hunny, whomever said the band was the easy way out needs to feel what we feel, then they would think twice before making such a silly comment. its not easy its hard, and we are all saints for choosing to have this op. My opinion anyway. -

Oh Allan you poor thing, dont be sad and disheartened, everything will turn out fine for you in the end. The bypass is so drastic. i think your body is reacting that way maybe cos it doesnt like the band and maybe you too are thinking that way. Think positive boy!!!! Give it a chance, you have lost more than I have to start with. The band does work hunny, and we are all proof of that. they just need to find your sweet spot and it will happen, please have faith, it may seem like a long way off, but time passes so fast, bear with it for a little while longer. love patti xx parrot, you are Miss organised, wow i am impressed, good on you!!! -

Poor CA, why did you have to have all your fills out? If you went for a 2nd one, were you ok before that? Seems weird. I hope you have restriction hunny. -

Bless all you newly banded peoples, so made up for you, seeing the scales moving down is a wonderful feeling. welcome Oliverdog, well done on your decision, you wont look back. Carrie, I think you're right hunny but on Saturday teatime I ate (very slowly and well chewed) chicken thigh and I suffered a lot of discomfort for about 3 hours couldnt even take a sip of water. yesterday i had one of those diet shakes, that gym freaks use full of vits and not many calories, but apart from the usual 2 cream crackers with marmite i only managed a teaspoon of lamb curry, was too full, but my head said 'I'm hungry' I hate when that happens. This morning I have eaten my C crackers with only clover on and most of the yolks of 2 boiled eggs. Thats not much good for my constipation though is it. Carrie, though you may be heartbroken at the moment, time will heal you darling, and you will find someone even better. You are a beautiful young girl and someones out there looking for you right now. I am a great believer in...everything happens for a reason. xxxx -

Girlies you are so sweet, I hear what you're saying, thank you for your kindness. To tell you the truth I cant afford to get any taken out atm. been booking the flights around Asia and to and from the Gold Coast, am on the bones on my a*se. We've spent about £1500 to date thats without hotels lol. I do take vits and the prune juice must be good for me. i think if the bowels were working normally I would feel good. Ah well it will pass, and I will try to eat more protein. yep the babby is due on 26th, daughter booked into Op theatre for 9am so not long to go, and she wants me to wash the baby, she is so fussy, doesnt want any nurse doing it lol. She's a case!!. they are doing it all day long, me i havent done it for over 8 years when her youngest son was born. I spose i should be flattered lol. Later girlies xxxx -

Ahh thanx Bigsis. I get the same sensation, dont really think I get the full message just that uncomfortable choking feeling. I also find it very hard to drink for about 2 hours after eating, and vice versa. I am loathe to get any taken out in case I stop losing, but I dont feel wonderful. Is it sposed to make you feel a bit under the weather? -

I have had to read so many posts I'm exhausted lol. You lot dont half natter, i remember when there was only about 6 of us!!! I dont know if my bandf is normal or not, yesterday I ate half an oatabix drekky, 1 dutch crispbread with cheese n onion sandwich filler on for lunch (couldnt manage anymore!!!) and teatime ate 2 slices of Spam and a minute bit of lettuce and cucumber. Is this normal? Not much food for a whole day is it. I miss you Gillian and Big sis, we dont seem to be on at the same time anymore. Garry hope you're feeling ok after your op hunny xxx. Have a fab holiday in Florida HC, and eat what you can lol. Last time I went I came back 7lbs lighter. I was craving for all the steaks and burgers, but had to stick to soup as my band had tightened with the flight. Maggs when do you go to France? Sorry Wishful I always seem to miss you too. Laters guys xxx -

Garry, great to see you back and fantastic that you didnt have to go through the whole procedure again, although I was glad I had it done, could have done without the first few days of discomfort though. But it's been well worth it, I have lost 30lbs since before i had the new band. Dr Chris and co are really worth their weight in gold, I'm so glad you were treated so well. Shell nice to see you too hunny. Maggs, thats a good price of £80. I dont think I'm gonna need another fill for some time, I told you the night of the wedding I vomited for England just because I ate a little too many party things and drank too much, though it was spread over the whole day and evening. I still struggle with drinks, so I must be full as a boot!! Wishful, hi chick, not 'seen' you in a while, hope you're doing good. And to all the girlies/guys on here good luck with the weight loss. -

Maggs that is sooo expensive, if anyone is near the Spire Southampton, Michael Van den Bossche does the fills for £90, he was my surgeon and is lovely. You can also get a fill done under X-ray at the Manchester x-ray for £150. -

Maggs you are such a smooth talker:biggrin: And I love what you said about the free fill for the sake of science, what a hoot you are It was lovely to meet and spend time with you and your little sweetheart of a daughter, I felt like I'd known you all my life. And by small I meant your body size, cos you're not very big, in fact you just look normal....not a bulge in sight!! You are lovely and bubbly, I felt like a miserable old fart next to you, I didnt mention it but I still was/am having bowel probs. It is making me feel so ill and miserable. Yesterday I found some Movicol powders, for constipation, and faecal impaction, sorry for the graphics, but this is what I have. I took a load last night and today we've had lift-off, I also took my usual glass of prune juice. I'm not going to the hospital today so gonna have a real good go at the Movicol again, and sort it out once and for all. BTW I did do the enima with help from hubby:rolleyes: but it didnt shift it all. -

I am going to have to reserve a whole day to read the posts here, havent got much time atm, with going down to Cardiff to the wedding tomorrow. Maggs, we're not leaving till 2:30 so we may be late getting there, will text you when we arrive at the hotel ok. Cream crackers and marmite are my faves. I am even taking some with me lol. Anita thanx for asking about my Mum, I had some bad news yesterday, and couldnt bring myself to post about it. They dont think my Mum will be able to come back home as she gets up at least 6 times a night to wee, they said I wouldnt be able to cope with that as she needs supervision since the stroke. My heart is breaking for my poor Mum cos she was so happy when I said she would be coming home on 10th August. Now she's got nothing to look forward to, she has to back into the home permanently. The only thing I can do for her is a couple of times a week bring her home for the day so she wont feel like she's been dumped. I am also planning on taking her on days out , there doesnt seem to be anything else I can do. I have to tell them on Monday what my decision is, but they say I wont be able to survive with getting up so much in the night, and I know they're right. Anyway girlies enjoy the chit chat here, Hi to Mandy and anyone else who's around. See you next week take care xxxxx -
