Fatduck, I think your 'mates' sound threatened by your pending weightloss. People can be very jealous, it happens all the time. I have a friend who will never say she can see I have lost weight, she just says she can see its just come off my face. duh..... -

You see how everyone has different opinions, I was told that Fibregel is the best thing to take for dodgy bowels, and this from a Cancer specialist. So what do we believe? Is it because our bands dont like it or what. I took my first lot yesterday and 2 Senakots last night , and a Phosphate enima yesterday evening, and lo and behold, the Impaction has shifted this morning. I feel like a new woman, I cant believe how ill all that poison was making me feel. I will stick with the Fibregel as I would never want to go through that amount of pain and discomfort ever again. I also ate some Bran Flakes for brekky. -

Thank you girlies, glad you liked the piccys. big sis, I started in the Dept of Employment (as it was then) in 1984, I worked in Personnel, calculating annual leave/sick leave etc. Then in 1990 I transferred to Finance and worked in redundancy payments, which was so boring after Salaries and leave work. I took the severence, early retirement in 1998, so 14 years in all. I wish I'd never left now as I miss it still. My best mate who started the same time as me is now acting up to Seo, and I think maybe i could have gone that bit further too. Still I got my pension early (due to severe arthritis,) which they will pay if you are ill enough.bless. What dept do you work in hunny? -

Maggs, many thanx for that hunny, actually, he says I have a few internal (hmmm...piles) which he will be banding (cos they're so greedy??? lol) as well. I fully intend to have the Colonoscopy, I think I've actually had one once before or maybe that was a gastroscopy....yes, it was.. stomach camera, yuk, all these horrible jobs. I am booked into the Bupa on 4th Sept, but my healthcare wont pay more than 1500quid and that procedure is 1750, I've already used some of that with the other things the doc did for me. so I have to do the choose and book thing (NHS) to get the same sugeon if my GP agrees. Or i can go into my healthcare's own private hospital,so I will go see my GP on friday and see what he says. He can be really awkward when he wants to be, I dnt think he likes that I have private healthcare, and to be fair, its not a posh one at all. just what I joined when I was a civil servant, and still pay it every month. So will know soon whats happening and when. -

Garry so glad you're ok, loving the new piccy btw. Thanx to all of you for your good wishes. I dont want to bore you with all the details, but the surgeon decide not to do the manual removal as it was softer and he made me stay upstairs in a hospital room and more enimas were administered. They nearly got rid of all of it, so he let me home at 10pm last night. However I have to go back in for a Colonoscopy as he is concerned that I had a lot of blood inside, and he wants to know where thats coming from. I cant do anything by halves duh!!! Btw he told me the best thing to take when the diet is not so good, is Fibergel, every day. For the first few days you are liable to suffer from bloating and flatulence ...nothing new there is there A big to all the newbies, enjoy your time here xxx -

Thanx dudes for your well wishes, well the pills etc, didnt shift it, so am bracing myself for the dropout now. I just hope it doesnt hurt too much as my poor bum is in tatters after last nights shenanikins (pills and enima) I mean. I have never suffered from constipation, so he thinks it was cos of poor diet and not enough liquid, and maybe not enough exercise, which we all know anyway. Yes, where is Garry gone, I hope he's ok. Well the clock is ticking and I have to leave shortly, hope to be 10lbs thinner when I get back home. (some hope) -

Thanx all you lovely girlies asking about my stupid problems, and also a thank you about baby's nursery. Firstly the consultant examined me (UGH!!!) he says I have an Impaction (as I thought, cos you just know). he says the only way to get rid of this is to do it manually They do by putting you 'out' and taking you to the theatre, but he assures me it only takes about 5/10 minutes Meanwhile he gave me a prescription for enimas and senokots. I have to take 6 sennas over a 6 hour period, and use the enima. Then tomorrow use the enima again. I cant eat or drink after 12noon tomorrow and have to go back to the Spire at 5pm when he has his clinic. If its worked Hallelulia!! if it hasnt then he will do the removal in theatre he said if I had waited any longer my colon could have ruptured and that I would have been in Intensive care. So be warned dudes, dont let this happen to you. He wants to examin my colon to ensure its not damaged -

I can eat anything, just not much of it lol. I really think this is how the band is sposed to work, and that was endorsed by my surgeon. Freddy boy told me you should not be able to eat red meat or fresh bread, but Michael says thats not right, he says you should be able to eat anything just small portions, and it does feel like that . What does everyone else think.? I have trouble eating mushies, like mashed potatoes, even Smash seems to clog up and wont go down. -

I saw my GP last night, he examined my tum, and said well there's not as much fat there as there was before (compliment??). he said I have done really well. He asked if I had piles (how embarrassing) I just nodded so he asked me to get on the couch so he could see. I was appalled!! I said NO!!!! just believe me I do have them. My fella was wetting himself, he says I'm so cheeky. Anyway I have an appointment on Monday afternoon at the Spire Stretton, to see a Colorectal surgeon,...me is scared. My daughter says she has done some research and it sounds like I have a rectal prolapse...she is the grim reaper sometimes. I'm hoping its just an impaction and that he'll offer me a proper enima there and then. I hope this doesnt happen to anyone else, just make sure you drink plenty of water cos I'm sure this had something to do with my problem. -

How lucky you are sweetheart that your Mum is a nurse, will she be able to do your fills for you too? I would think being as your stitches are now out as long as there are no leaks you should be able to leave the dressings off. -

Have a lovely holiday parrot, well as lovely as possible. At least you can eat what you like atm, so thats a bonus lol. I know Corned beef is not everyones cup of tea, but i love it. We always used to make Spag Bol, chillie and lasanga with it as I never buy mince, I hate what they put in it, so as i dont know whats in c. beef I can eat it till the cows come home. I sent for a meat mincer from Ebay which should be here next week, thought I'll mince my own meat, that way I know whats going in it. I used to have a mincer years ago when the kids were little and I used to bake a lot, but dont know what happened to it. My fella used to be a store manager for safeways and the amount of fat they put in with the meat to make mince is appalling, hence why we never buy it from anywhere. -

This morning I had 1 slice of corned beef and 1 slice of mature cheddar, popped it into the microwave for 40 seconds until the cheese melted...yummy. -
