Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

I got to thinking yesterday that maybe I needed a little more in my band, cos I havent lost any weight at all for about 2 months. I cant eat much at any one time, I ate a quarter of a burger at teatime and then an hour later some rhubarb yogurt. Then like an idiot I tried to finish the burger just before bedtime. I had to run to the loo and vomited for England, how stupid am I, I kept thinking I could eat more and needed another fill. But this was only in my greedy mind. God I'll never learn, Garry has that ever happened to you? I do tend to feel hungry now and again and I hate it. -

Oh girls dont despair, we all feel like this. We think the band has failed, or we have done something to the band itself. STOPPIT!!!! When you have restriction, you will know it, and believe me you will get it. Then you will start to lose weight, how could it not work for you and yet work for thousands of others? keep your chins up girlies, have faith, and a little patience, I know its hard but it doesnt happen overnight, I have only lost 3 and half stone in 16 months, but I know it will happen if I stop eating crap, which I do tend to do. Cant eat big portions, but then i never did, I was always more of a grazer. -

I've now discovered I can eat Prawn crackers dipped in curry sauce from the chippy, goes down like nectar, while everyone else is eating rice and chips. But I dread to think just how many calories are in this...any ideas? I think maybe I will just keep this as a treat. -

I've come to the conclusion that I am eating too many calories, not in the way of meals, cos I just cant get much down at all. But I eat French Fries (crisps) and eat chocolate and peanuts. So am going to change all of this and see what happens. I am sooo greedy. We're going out tonight to the pub and then for a curry, with friends, I can never eat more than one pappadom, never mind a damn meal, but the smell is so gorgeous I love going, even though it kills me watching them all scoffing -

Sher, people will always try to put you off, sometimes I think maybe they feel threatened because they know you will be slim and beautiful, and some people cant handle the competition. Go with your gut feeling, dont listen to anyone, if this is what you want after trying everything else then do it to please yourself, after all its your body and more importantly, its your life, make the best of it. -

You're very welcome girls. Yes kath I had to pay £90 to have 3mls out and then £90 to put it back in.But Freddyboy is very fair, because he couldnt get the 3 back in the first time I went back, he told me if it wasnt enough then he would do the next fill free of charge. Which Chris deprez did. Then when i went in may with my daughter (her appointment) Freddy asked how i was getting along. i told him I was having acid reflux every night again. He said I'll take some out for you as its not good for your health to have the reflux. I said to him that I didnt have another £90 and he said he didnt expect me to pay again and did it for free. So to me he is a good guy and it proves they do care about their patients and and not just in the game for the money. My opinion anyway. -

Hi kath, how lucky are you!!! well done hunny on your win. I had 61/2 mls in and had 3 taken out. didnt have any tightening of the band that affected my enjoyment, but I did fly to Hong Kong, then to Singapore, Kuala Lumpar and then on to Australia, a lot of flying, did 10 flights in 3 weeks. but i could eat and drink at the same time, only small meals but it was great to be able to eat normally. I loved it and didnt put on any weight. Have a fab time kath xxxx Send a mail to chris deprez he'll know the dates, its usually within the first couple of weeks of the month. -

Slinky, I've had 4 babies, and believe me the labour pains I had were far worse than the band pain. I think the oxygen they give you helps so much, gives you a feeling of well-being, as well as the morphine.lol I just had a stinging sensation around the port area, but nothing major. The thing is I was banded both times in the Bupa/Spire by Michael Van den Bossche, and he doesnt use drains as Dr Chris does, I dont know if that makes any difference or not, to the pain. I would go through it again if I had to, and I'm a big baby. Carrie have you found out the sex of your baby or dont you want to? -

Ahh bless you two, I really feel for you. I felt the same way,,, apprehension its called, which is fear of the unknown and you may still feel that way after the op. Then after a while you will know it was the best decision you could ever have made. You wont ever look back and every time you see a poor overweight person you feel so sorry for them and want to rush over to explain about your band, but you wont be able to do that. It was one of the most rewarding things i have ever done in my life, and believe me you will feel the same, so confident that you wont ever put the weight back on again, as we did with so many of the silly diets we tried. A real life changer. my thoughts will be with you both as i am going to a wedding on 31st July and a christening on 1st August and I am so looking forward to dressing up in lovely clothes and looking slim, for the first time in years. Carrie you have done so well to stay in your tiny clothes, God bless you babe you deserve it, you have worked so hard. -

Yeh I agree with Carrie, why bother having diet drinks, apart from the cost, its just not worth it babe. I take those Bassets chewy vitamins, they taste lovely and never have trouble getting them down, tip for all you losers. -

Julie I've never heard of a double-fill, maybe its where he puts so much in, then you drink water and if it goes down ok he puts more in, and I couldnt for the life of me see why you'd have to pay twice hunny, so i wouldnt worry about that. -

Well done jojo on your great weight loss. I dont think its actual vomiting is it, isnt that productive burping that you're referring to. When you feel so full like food is stuck in your throat and you have to go to the bathroom to get rid of it? I have only had projectile vomiting about twice or three times, and i dont even PB anymore, maybe cos I know when to stop eating? It is difficult to know and I spose the longer you have your band the more apparent it becomes when you need to stop eating, though my brain tells me otherwise, it says go on greedy try eating the whole thing lol. Its a devil isnt it. Most times when I used to get rid of the gloop, then I'd be fine afterwards. -

Wannabe, people will always tell you things to put you off the surgery ( re:vomiting) like Bo says, you will learn how and what to eat with your band as every individual is different. Even when I was over-filled I didnt vomit much, and since I have had a little amount taken out I havent vomited at all. You get to know exactly how much you can eat, your body tells you. I was at a BBQ yesterday, and while all I could munch was a few nibbles of a chicken leg, I managed to drink 2 Buds, and half a bottle of wine. This was so different from last week, when I couldnt drink at all, even after having the .25 mls taken out. Things change from day to day. Dont be afraid... its a case of trial and error. You will learn to listen to your body, and good decision for opting for the band, its great to be able to don a strappy tee and shorts, instead of sweltering in cover-ups. You wont regret it for a moment dear, good luck on your venture. xxx -

Poor you Idiot, I am so sorry for you. I really dont know how you could have allowed yourself to be bullied into having lap Band surgery, knowing what you did? All of us in this thread are self-funded, we chose to have the surgery and paid for it ourselves out of our hard-earned cash. I notice you didnt have to pay for your surgery , which was paid for by your insurance company. But you have lost 10 stone which is marvellous. Actually the lap band surgery is reversible, why didnt you ask your insurance to pay for the removal of your band if it has caused you so much illness and trauma? I understand the point you are trying to make in your posts, and thank you for taking the time to enlighten others. I wish you good luck for the future and hope things change for you healthwise. -

Sussie a few of us on here had a fill with Chris Deprez in Manchester in April. He's a very nice man and very gentle, no worries there at all you will be in safe hands. My port is twisted but he found it ok on the first prod  Freddyboy told me today it was twisted, before, he said it was on a slant...typical of my stupid body:cursing: I went with my daughter (today to manchester) who had a defill with freddy last year as she was pregnant. She wanted some restriction and bless he put 4mls in for her. I think it was cos he had taken 5mls out and her band holds 10mls. he took .25 out of mine today cos I was having acid reflux again:crying: I have lost another 8lbs since the last fill and he told me that was too fast (5 weeks)???? Whats that all about. Hi maggs, miss you hunny xx Well done to all the losers, especially the big loser WOW....what an acheivment, excellent!!!! -

Hi Neennicole and welcome to this forum. I think your best bet would be to email Dr Chris and explain that you are only in the UK for a certain time. I'm sure he'll try to fit you in. Yes you can get fills in the US, but be very careful where you go for them, as if someone punctures your tubing you will not be covered for revision surgery by Dr Chris. Your best bet would be to take out some sort of insurance plan if you dont have it already. Good luck hunny. -

I dont think you need a dongle, I'm sure the hotel has free internet, but someone will confirm that cos I've never been lol. Some time ago when Big Sister, Gillian and a few others were active on here we were going to have a get together, it just never happened
