  4. Hi, ive just had my band tightened and since its been done ive been suffering from continual reflux at night. once it starts it really is nonstop and im coughing and clearing my throat all night ( think its acid reflux, its def not sliming, food, or PBing). Im getting no sleep and its wearing me down. has anyone else had this and if so how did you remedy it? its literally just started and ive had my band nearly a year. i think im gonna have an emergency unfill but before i do i thought it wouod be good to get some feedback from the forum Thanks everyone Julia
  5. Dr Chris did my gastric band and I am very happy with it and him! I now need a tummy tuck and just wondered if anyone has had one with him? Im very keen to get some feedback. Thank you! Julia

    needing some kind of.. reassurance

Hi Bubz I hope ur day has got a bit better! Just to encourage u really, each stage seems like forever but it is worth it! My doc said the definition of 'fluid' is anything u can drink thru a straw so think of some yummy stuff u can reat urself to.. nice fruity smoothies, juices? u'll lose a load of weight on the liquid stage so it'll give u a really good boost in the right direction and makethe boredom worth it. Ive had my band coming up to 5 months and although ive been pleased with it from the beginning its only now that Im really getting in the swing of things after having regular fills for the last 4months. I love it!! I really wish u well and every success! Julia
  7. Last night i had a scuba lesson and it was the 1st time Ive been down to any significant depth. Since then I have got a pulsating sensation next to my port (its to my right of the port , above my belly button and its deep down inside). its not painful just annoying as it's constant, pulsating every second. It feels like an air bubble thats trapped. its not so noticeable when Im moving around but when Im lying down still it is very noticeable and the continual pulsating stopped me from sleeping. Im really worried. Has anyone had anything like this after scuba diving with a band? Julia

    Not feeling it!

it might take several band fills before u experience a decent restriction. it seems like ages while ur waiting but u will get there eventually. I had my band 3 months ago, have just had my 3rd fill and is only just feeling tighter and giving me a good restriction now. you'll get there, just be patient! julia

    12 cc band...no restriction

Hi Lynne I was banded a few weeks before you and have had 2 fills so Ive not got a lot of experience. But what i will say is that my doc told me that most people on average need about 4 fills to get a good restriction. I know its prob not wot u want to hear but I think the word here is patience!! My doc tells me Ive been expecting too much too soon and I must be patient, it will come good!
  10. I cant believe it, it's gone! I can eat again! the foods going down ok now, oh what joy!!! I couldnt eat for 3 days and then all of a sudden it went. Crikey, something must have been well and truly stuck down there. Anyway panic over, I'm off to have my porridge for breakfast! Thanks again everyone for replying to my original post. very grateful to you all. Julia
  11. I got hold of my doc who said exactly what you've all been saying...strict liquid for several days. He also said if liquid wont go down then to get an unfill urgently but I'm ok with thin fluid. Thanks again everyone for your help. Julia
  12. thanks everyone for your advice and support. this is such a great website. i'm very grateful. julia x
  13. Thank you guys. I will take your advice and see how I get on. I feel a bit calmer now Ive heard from you, thanks again
  14. Hi im 2 months post op,all's been going ok up until now. I get food stuck from time to time but after the usual pain, PBing, and sliming etc it eventually passes and things return to normal, except for yesterday. Some food got stuck at lunchtime and it was a much longer more painful bout than I've experienced before. I was in too much residual discomfort to even think about eating anything else yesterday so only had a drink. Anyway, today I felt fine when i woke up until I went to have my porridge at Breakfast...one teaspoon and then the pain started so I chucked it all away. At lunchtime I thought I'd try a bit of yogurt ( more liquidy) I had a few teaspoons and was in agony. Eventually after 30 mins of pain, Pbing, sliming etc I threw it up. What is going on? I am really worried something bad has permanently happened to damage my band since nothing will go down now. I'm worrying about the vomiting, will that have caused a slip? And I'm worrying I'm going to need another op to sort out the problem . has anyone experienced this? I'd be really grateful to hear from anyone who's had the same thing happen to them. thanks guys Julia
