I bought the Wii and Wii Fit 2 weeks ago. I love it! I did get the Jillian Michaels game and I returned it. It is HORRIBLE! It doesn't react to the board or the controllers. I got my system at EB Games (aka Gamestop) and they let me return Jillian Michaels and I purchased the Fitness Coach and Mario Kart (played that it's fun!). Before you get a game google it and read the reviews. I had read an article that Jillian's game was supposed to be good - then after I bought it I read the reviews and everyone hated it and had the same problems I was having. The Wii Fit is addicting since you want to unlock other exercises but you have to put time in to do it. After 35 minutes it tells you to get a drink and take a 10 min. break - I didn't I was having too much fun!

Hi for those of you not wanting to wait the 6 months it's the insurance companies that require it. I'm going to a seminar by Dr, Borse July 10, 2008. Spoke to my insurance they are sending me paperwork but I have to be on a 6 month supervised diet and go thru the counseling etc.. before you can be banded. A lot of it makes sense because if you are not going to follow the program what good is it? I'm looking at the band as an assistance not a cure. You can have the band and not lose weight. The band is a physical reminder I still have to do the work. My husband's friend had gastric bypass - he was over 200 lbs overweight. He said the beginning was hard but he is so happy he had the surgery. Now he has to wait a year for the cosmetic surgery to remove all the excess skin. Even with the surgery HE had change his outlook on food and exercise the surgery helped. If you are looking at this surgery as a quick fix don't botter. It's a help but it all comes down to you. I'm at a point where I will do what they say. I'm tired of hurting and not being able to walk. I want to be the person I was before the weight took over.

Am I a good lap band candidate????
poconomom replied to CTerry's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for clearing that up. I'm the same as others - I can lose the weight but keeping it off is another story. I was also concerned that I go to the doctor and if I lose weight during the 6 month evaluation I will not qualify. Glad to know it is the starting weight. My seminar is July 10 - insurance requires 6 months of classes, dieting etc. So February 2009 would be the earliest I could get banded. Now that I have decided to do this I am looking forward to it. I'm also lookin at the band as a constant reminder for me to follow a healthy lifestyle. It will remind me not to eat too much. It will help me live longer and enjoy my kids. I'm going to be 47 in August and I want 50 to be my start - the second half of my life - the healthy half.:cursing:
